I'm very surprised that Duke Calhoun has seemed to have passed Derek Hagan, leading to the latter's being cut. And I have a hard time believing we are seriously only going with Boss and Beckum at TE. I thought Pascoe was a gamer. Not shocked about the Bomar cut once we traded for Rosenfels. Hopefully Rhett can make it on the PS. Here's Garafolo's take: "Alford appeared to be on his way to a breakout season in 2009, but was sidelined by a torn knee ligament suffered in the second preseason game. The injury left Alford "depressed" and, when he returned to the field, a shell of his former self. The quick step he showed throughout camp last year was gone as he struggled to return to form. Alford said recently his knee started to respond when he tested it fully for the first time. But with four players at his position in Chris Canty, Barry Cofield, Rocky Bernard and Linval Joseph, the Giants simply didn't have the roster space to wait for his full recovery". And yes, Tree, Bernard was not 100% at all last year. But I wonder if part of his ineffectiveness was due to lack of motivation after he cashed in. I expect that's all behind him now and that he will be a force in the middle for us this year.
