Mr. P
i thought it was ok at best. but for first nfl start ever i guess thats a positive.
Balloonknot
Considering our 3rd string QB played Vs the 1's and 2's of the Steelers it was not a bad night.
JMFP
Good experience....probably the most work he'll see all season.

Treehugger
Wasn't bad; a few nice throws, a few rushed ones under pressure and a few outright misses. I really like his shiftiness though; he made a few first downs out of busted plays tonight.

fishgutmartyr
He did OK. I could see him as trade bait in the future, ala Matt Cassel. For a first time playing for any length, I wouldn't complain.
BleedinBlue
For a kid who has never been put in that kind of situation, I thought he did okay. He took a lot of hard hits, but didn't seem to be all that phased by it. I think if he got more opportunities like last night, he could develop into a solid player. Better than doughboy. Storm
I wouldn't be surprised if he pushes Sorgi off the roster, honestly...especially if they are as worried as they claim to be about Sorgi's shoulder...

Iceman_NYG
I really like the upside potential this kid has. Just take a look at some of the other well known NFL QBs first NFL starts against the #1s and #2s. He was pretty good. He has that instinct of trying to wiggle away and make something of a play instead of hitting the dirt. He should a fearless attitude under pressure. And he wasnt shying away from taking a hit. This guy has got excellent upside. If he is our #2 this year....then he will be solid trade bait a couple of years down the line. Although its ironic that I DONT want to see him play at all
UK-Giantsfan
im not comfortable with Sorgi or Bomar as backup ................... ( If Eli goes down with either of those 2 backing up...season over ) it just shows what a luxury we had with Carr last season to be honest ...if i was JR ...id be picking up the phone to Jeff Garcia right now ( and i still havent mentally recovered from that SF game all those years ago )

JR would have to come up with something pretty compelling to tear him away.
gmenroc
From what the talking heads were saying, Carr is battling for the #2 spot in SF. No way they sit Alex Smith this year.
