Considering so many games are won or lost by 3 points, I don't understand why the position is so looked down upon. Everyone cracks jokes about the kicker, and if he fails a FG attempt it's percieved as his fault, but if he makes it, he's a hero. You'd think that, while not as important as other positions, it's one where you would really want to draft someone that had talent and would stick with your club for a while. I'd think that you'd want someone who was around long enough to adapt to your home stadiums conditions at the very least. And with a new stadium opening next year, no vet or rookie is going to be familiar with it, so why not just start fresh?
