agreed jim....though I think Pettite has a pretty string case, the postseason accolades look good to HOF voters..however CC has a good chance...his has an outside shot at winning 300 games. I think Mike Mussina should be in the hall of fame ahead of Pettitte though...one of the greatest pitchers Ive ever watched..Mussina was an artist.

Ha...he can still crush a good fastball, mostly off lefthanders...but he is still just a shell of what he used to be in his prime with the braves. that said...... he is definitely a good bench guy to have...though Im not sure why pitchers dont throw him only offspeed junk...his defense has been surprisingly good this year

I wouldnt call what burnett did in the AL East (Toronto and Yankees) a success...he seasons were either bad, mediocre, good only once(and it wasnt that good, wins are not indicative of how good a pitcher is) and hurt a lot.

Burnett had one good year in Toronto, thats it, just one...and it wasnt anything too great either. he has always been a guy thats stuff never translated to effectiveness. He has been a mediocre pitcher for his career. As for titles over conference wins..well, I assume you are aware that the best/better team doesnt always win the title. One five or seven game series is an extremely small sample size.

he still sucks. he was great in 09, but has been pretty bad ever since..actually has gotten worse each year...and I know he is a notorious slow starter, but come on mon! Its like he forgot how to hit from the left side comepletely..right handed he is still pretty good, Ill give him that. Another terrible contract handed out by Cashmoron. On a positive note, ManBan has been lights out since returning from injury.

Ive said this numerous times and Ill say it again. Conscription is a very serious thing and shouldnt be mocked. All these people mocking the draft should be ashamed of themselves.

If I recall correctly, he did play well in his rookie year(he didnt start though, but played often and well when called upon.if I recall correctly)..and really came into his own in year two. Bottom line, Diehl has been a very underrated player. Guy has been good from day one..and at times has been great. What a great pick he was. He will be greatly missed and hard to replace when he is done(which might be soon unfortunately).

it was a good move, I guess. The Yankees have about 4 pitchers in the minors that should be in the majors at some point this year and/or next. Burnett was blocking them.

I think T is being realistic. Fact is that Ike Davis is a nice player, but he is no MVP candidate nor will he ever be. And Santana hasnt pitched in a very long time. I wouldnt count on much from him this year. One could say that the teams in their division are significantly better..all of them. The Mets could lose 100 games..at the very best, theyre an 80 win club. The Mets are probably only better than the astros and orioles.
