  1. McCown is better than Kessler and they've had the lead in some games and.....well, shit happens. I can see a bad weather day in Cleveland, tough to throw, game becomes a trench slog.....we're in a 14-13 kind of game late...maybe a tipped ball turnover.....and McCown hits Pryor deep......Driz is screaming about backing up the truck.....Jesus, it's all too vivid.
  2. I don't know WTF you were thinking when you posted this, Osi but I hope you have the good sense to be embarrassed today. I'm embarrassed for you.
  3. When all is said and done, Flowers might be a bust or possibly merely average, which would be a disappointment for a high 1st rounder but Richburg has been fine. No way I lump those two together.
  4. There were times last year that I thought Will Tye had a chance to develop into at least a C+ TE but that guy is nowhere to be found this year.
  5. Sounds like he's going the "mea culpa" route, which might save him.
  6. Also, if it's true that as he pulled the helmet off, he was screaming, "FINE ME!", that suggests he knew taking the helmet off was a no-no but he was being defiant......which is OK if it's just his money but I'm guessing he didn't know it was going to cost the team 15 yards.
  7. I think you would have felt differently if the points came off the board, 15 yard penalty, replay the down. And frankly, I like the rule. As a coach, I always taught that you respect the game and your opponent and you never show them up. Old school.
  8. Agree.....and don't forget Eli Apple. I like what I see out of that kid. As Spags has said, this D is a work in progress and he's still fitting the parts together.
  9. For the helmet rule, behind the end zone counts as on the field. Has since the inception of the rule. It will ( and has) get called every time. They got it right. And as I said, he almost got a much more damaging penalty when he pointed at the defender on his way to the end zone. That one would have taken points off the board. Look, I love Odell. He's like no Giant I've seen in my 50something years of being a fan. And I have nothing against celebrations - not everybody is Barry Sanders. But I don't think it's asking too much to understand where to draw the line.
  10. And in so doing, he keeps the "Diva" story alive. He must have Trump's advisers (whoops, wrong section!!).
  11. And a PS on that - Odell came with in a nanosecond of getting another penalty and this might have even taken points off the board. On his 75 yard TD - the first one - he saw he had the defender beat and started to point at him as he ran. He caught himself and pulled it down or at least made it less of a pointing gesture and looked away from the defender just in time. Another second and the flag was flying.....and I think, in that case, it's a 15 yard penalty and repeat the down.
  12. I love you but can this routine please be over now? Can you please just catch TDs, do whatever you want in the end zone (the triple jump was a nice touch!), celebrate with your teammates and get ready for the next series? Why does there always have to be a mini-drama to act out? Besides, I gotta tell you - it's kind of stupid and juvenile and it's gotten old real quick. Please, move on.
  13. I'm fine with the rule. I don't need more "look at me" crap than we have already. I believe the rule was instituted for safety, as well. If extracurricular activity starts, you don't want someone (player or official) swinging a helmet or getting hit when the helmet is off. And behind the end zone counts as on the field. You cannot take your helmet off until you're back on the sideline, between the 30s (or wherever the team demarcation line is). I knew that was a penalty as soon as he did it and happy as I was, I was also screaming at him for being a f*cking idiot! They still had plenty of time and now the kickoff is 15 yards back. We're very fortunate that didn't come back to bite us in the ass. So is Odell.
  14. And on the first one, Shepard went down. He may have been interfered with but either way, if he stays up, there's no pick and maybe it's even a completion. Eli threw some bad balls early - one behind Cruz comes to mind and on another he missed Shepard. A few others went off hands but were a little high......but I'm not going to quibble with 32 for 46, 403 yards & 3TDs. And who was it that said here this week that Eli can't drop them in a bucket anymore? The 75 yard TD to Odell was perfect and the long one down the left sideline to Odell, closely guarded, was even better. It looked to me like Eli just made up his mind to trust his OL. He wasn't trying to speed up his reads and delivery - he looked much more relaxed in the pocket than he has in the past few games.
  15. This. Who threw the flag on DRC? If it was her, we'd all know.
  16. Yeah....he's been solid in run support but I'd sure like to see him knock down a pass sometime.
  17. What's Game Pass? Is that a free way to see a replay? I forgot to DVR yesterday and when I tried to tell my wife all the twists and turns of the game, there were too many to keep straight in chronological order! Jesus, what an emotional rollercoaster!
  18. Clearly PI. On the DRC call, there was a brief arm bar but no more than you see a dozen times a game - with no flag. Especially under the circumstances, that's a BS ticky-tack call. However the roughing call on ODiggy was the right call.
  19. Seph, you missed a hell of a game after you quit on it in the 1st quarter! Did you see the highlights?
  20. The kid in Dallas has a tremendous running game and consistently has a clean pocket every time he drops back. Eli can't count on more than 2.5 seconds (or whatever), so he's speeded everything up. When he gets more time, it's almost like a change up. He and the receivers are struggling to get the timing down. I just can't believe that he's suddenly become gunshy or gotten old overnight. I absolutely believe if he had the time that Rodgers had against us last week, when he could have made a sandwich back there, he'd suddenly look a lot better. So it's all connected - with opposing defenses playing cover 2, with both safeties deep, our receivers are having trouble getting open. You force them out of that with a strong running game......which also slows the pass rush.....which makes Eli dangerous again. But, I guess mainly because the of the OL, we can't run the ball.
