  1. We wouldn't get anything close to equal value for Plax at this point. Just have to hope he gets past this rocky stretch and gets back with the program. Considering his history against the eagles, maybe it happens this week.
  2. And to think at this time last year, we wanted Gilbride's head on a spit!!!!
  3. You can't trade a guy who is about to become a free agent. And as far as Bradshaw being able to do a lot of the same things Ward can, that's not true. Bradshaw is about 190, Ward is 230. Ward is an every down back, who can move the pile but still has vision and a burst. Bradshaw, at this point in his career, is more a change of pace back, who can off the bench and provide a spark.
  4. Yes, Jacobs is a battering ram but there's still too many runs for 1 or 2 yards for my taste. I know he averages about 5 yards per carry but runs of 2, 2, 2 & 14 is a 5 yard average. While not the load that Jacobs is, Ward is 5' 11", 230 - big & powerful AND he's got great vision, a quicker burst and a wiggle - makes people miss. It all comes down to how much $$ they want. If Jacobs is looking for 5 years/$25M and Ward can be signed for say, 4 years/$15M, I think Jacobs prices himself out of town.
  5. So the question becomes, will we be able to sign both or do we have to make a choice? If Jacobs wants $25+M/5 years, as I've seen suggested a few times, I think you pass and sign Ward for considerably less. Ward and Bradshaw would be a great, cap friendly running tandem.
  6. Thanks, guys. I hear it's excellent and I'm especially eager to see & hear the behind the scenes stuff.
  7. Saw another reference to that scene in the locker room, right after knocking the Cowboys out of the playoffs, when Coughlin says, "I just got the tickets from Jerry, so we're all set". This was a reply to Jones handing out NFC Championship Game tickets to his players BEFORE the Giant game. Giants caught wind of this and used it for additional motivation. All this is supposedly chronicled in the NFL Network production called, America's Game". Has anyone seen it? Does it go though the whole season or just the SB? And finally, is it available for sale?
  8. And don't even THINK about washing it!!! In fact, store it in the hamper during the week and take it out on game days. At least you'll have plenty of privacy to watch the games!
  9. Washington will go 4-2, also. Write it down. Won't matter if we win 12 games, as you suggest but if we win 11, we'll have to sweep Washington to win the East. More I think about it, right now, sitting here going into Week 8, that Redskin game in DC, 11/30, is the biggest game of the year...or at least our biggest potential net gain.
  10. Good point on the importance of the divisional record. I'd further clarify that the 4-2 divisional record, will have to include beating Washington, since I see them no worse than 4-2, either. Then again, we could go 4-6, sneak in at 9-7 and run the table on the road all the way to the Super Bowl again! I could live with that, too.
  11. Looking around the NFC and at the schedules and figuring we'll all beat each other up a bit, I think 11-5 just might get you the #1 seed and home field throughout the playoffs. Washington might be our toughest comp (easiest remaining schedule) and the game down there the Sunday after Thanksgiving looms as the pivotal game. If we win that and have the tiebreaker against them, I see two playoff games in the windy swamp. So if we go 6-4 the rest of the way, Philly could go 7-3 and not catch us, Dallas 6-3 and not catch us, Washington 6-3 and as long as one of those 3 losses is to us, they wouldn't catch us. Anyone see any of those teams doing better than that? So the question is, can we beat Washington down there and go 6-4? If so, we're home for January!
  12. You'll note the Skins & Eagles are on the list. What moves the Jets in front of them is that I have to be around and listen to Jet fans! If I was to move to Philly or DC, I'm sure they would move up the list! Baseball-wise, I am a long suffering SF Giant fan (which explains Dodger mention). My whole family - father, uncle, cousins - used to be Giant fans but they all switched to the Mets (which is a whole other thread: how does anyone switch teams?! It's part of your DNA! I couldn't switch if I had to!). But the bond that holds the family together is we all have a deep, brooding hatred for the Yankees! And there's a 3rd generation following me, upholding this fine family tradition!
  13. It's a shame but Plax still doesn't seem to get it. He says "maybe" he'd make a phone call next time. Well, thanks for that! What bothers me even more is him saying he doesn't care if he's liked in the locker room or not. What this says is he doesn't give a damn for the leadership council anymore than the coaching staff. You want to resent authority in the form of the coaches, that isn't good but it's happened before. When you say in so many words, that you don't give a damn for your teammates, that's a bigger problem. And from what I'm reading, his teammates aren't too crazy about him these days, either. I'm a huge Plax fan and have always defended and supported him but when you start not caring about your teammates, there is a serious problem. I only hope it was just the emotion of the moment speaking and this can be patched up. He's an incredible weapon, that's for sure.
  14. I always like these threads. Fun to see everyone vent! Football (order subject to shuffling, depending on who is doing well and who the Giants are playing!) Dallas Cowboys NY Jets Washington Redskins Philadelphia Eagles NE Patriots All Sports Dallas Cowboys NY Yankees NJ Devils NY Jets Pittsburgh Penguins (take another dive, you whiny little bitch!) Honorable Mention LA Dodgers Notre Dame Philadelphia Flyers Any team coached by Steve Spurrier Any team coached or associated with Bill Parcells
  15. So it takes a certain number of posts to appreciate racism? You call that humor?
  16. And in your defense, you cannot help being a moron.
  17. You have to perform in practice to get game time on Sundays and that's where he must be getting outperformed by Hixon, not to mention Toomer, Smith & Plax. Worse, once Manningham learns the playbook (which, according to a few reports I've seen, has not come easily to him), he might well blow past Moss on the depth chart, too. If we could pick up a #3 for Moss, a 5th receiver at best, I'd do it in a heartbeat.
  18. gateb, that's a hilarious little vid you have below your name! Is that woman your wife? Or maybe a better question is, is she still?
  19. And I'm yet another! Going to be a LOOOOOOONNNNNGGGGGG summer!
  20. It's uncanny - if I tape the game, we lose! It's happened that way for years! Just before the playoffs I purchased an upconverting DVD player/recorder to go with my new 1080P 46" TV.....but I wouldn't DARE record any of the playoff games. So considering we won three playoff games and the Super Bowl because I refrained from recording, doesn't somebody have a copy of any of those games for me?! It seems only right
