  1. I don't see why people believe that Coughlin thought everything was fine or he was forced to fire someone than hire whoever he wants. If anything it's JR/Coughlin's call on who gets the boot and who gets fired. Coughlin has never been the GM/HC/OC all rolled into one lik Bilichek or McCarthy, who have a lot of free reign on how the team is run and who gets drafted. I'm not trying to defend the guy, it's just one year he's the most controlling HC in the world, the next he has no control on the team and JR has to do his job, the next year he has control over who gets hired and fired, the next he's in control of every last part of the team, according to the fans.
  2. You know I try to think of this as well, but I think it's just a combination of both Coughlin and a brand new first time OC. In fact this article has some interesting quotes. http://www.nj.com/giants/index.ssf/2014/11/tom_coughlin_or_ben_mcadoo_responsible_for_giants_goal-line_play-calling.html So I don't know it seems like Coughlin gives him all the room in the world, like the article said allowing McAdoo to call three fade calls, but he does still have input. I still think he gives McAdoo all the room in the world but I think the leash is getting shorter and shorter as McAdoo seems to go full fucking stupid on some series.
  3. Yeah it's hard to say with top 10, even top 5 picks, it's almost more of a burden than anything else. I mean with the benching of RG the Third, people are saying that 2012 draft class the only first round pick worth a damn was Luck and that LB Carolina has. I just don't see the Giant's getting another first round WR, unless he's going to be the next Calvin Johnson, and even than if I had to chose between the next Ray Lewis or Calvin Johnson for the Giant's right now, I would probably go with the LB. But at the same time I'm from the school of thought that if you have a top 5 pick and there's no one there that every single expert is claiming he will be the next great thing, you trade back and get picks. Far to often these top five-ten picks end up being nothing but a waste of time for teams.
  4. I think you can get a solid WR in the second round though, the Giant's have gotten value out of that round anyways with WRs, Smith, Randle. I think if a top 10 pick is what's in store for the Giant's they take a leader on the defense (if there is any worth that spot). Get a Patrick Willis or Ray Lewis, someone who is going to be on the defense for the next 10+ years who is going to lead the team. Start getting some more leadership and core players on the team, WRs seem to leave the Giant's faster then they can draft them.
  5. I just can't see Mara pulling a Snyder and clearing house in one season. If anything Fewell gets the boot at the end of this season and maybe JR or Coughlin next season depending on results. JR and Coughlin will get another season at the helm and I'm sure they'll make the right pick. I think if Coughlin gets fired you will see JR get fired as well because it will be a while new regime change, I'm sure Coughlin will get a FO job though, heck maybe he even stays on as an assistant.
  6. A new HC? And trading for Eli? And who did we lose in FA, Collins? I wouldn't call that a major overhaul.
  7. Mara won't do it, the Giants have never really pulled the pin and blown up an entire team. And I'm glad they don't do it, last thing we need is to become the Redskins 2.0.
  8. I'm still willing to give him a couple seasons much like Mara will, but I still don't understand has this guy never called or game planned for a full complete four quarters in his coaching career? Was he just some assistant who took notes in Green Bay but never really did anything? On top of that what the fuck did Mara/JR/Coughlin see in the guy during the interview? Was his game plan using a copy of the newest Madden to show how fancy and fast paced the offence can be? Is it the players? Is his scheme so off the wall fucking sophisticated that we needs to re-build the entire offense so that it works for him? Sure injuries play a part but we started the game firing on all cylinders then decided to revert to pop-warner trick plays and delayed hand offs.
  9. Cant stay on top forever. You could become a Pats fan though. Sounds like you need a break.
  10. Well when your defensive scheme relies on you having a HoF DE and such a wealth of talent along the D-line that no opposing QB has any time to set up and deliver, you arn't going to be able to use it on many team in the NFL. Glad he was here, glad he was able to help lead the team to a SB win, but it's not like Spags was any sort of Dick Lebeau.
  11. Bad enough to have Colt McCoy be the Redskins future QB. I have a couple buddies who are redskins fans, they have told me ever since RG3 has been out of Shannys gimmick offense (and not on the injured list as well) he's basically regressed in every aspect a QB can. I'll tell you what though if RG3 is on another team next offseason he'll go down as the biggest draft bust in history. Trading away what? Three first round picks and a third? For a guy who was on your team for three years.
  12. I think he's off the team just in FA alone.
  13. Not saying Gilly was better. But he was the OC. Settle down Nancy.
  14. People can bash GIlly all they want but the guy knew how to run the offense when they were down in the fourth. I still say it's just the fact that McAdoodles still hasnt had any experience calling or even running offenses as a coach before this, he's never had to come up with a two minute drive to win the game yet. McAttack will be here for a few more seasons at the very least, I can see three or four more. Mara needs ticket money and turning the team over every other season doesn't help. That and he isnt Snyder who pushes the "FUCK it lets be irrelevant for another five seasons button" at every losing season. Just like I still believe JR/Coughlin are still on the team next season, the Giant's fire Fewell and hire someone internally for DC.
  15. I'm fully convinced Eli leaves the team and signs somewhere else under his own free will. If JR and Co push the reset button Eli doesn't want to spend the last hand full of seasons he has left, with the possibility of a new; HC, OC, DC, GM, a roster overhaul from top to bottom, and the possibility of never seeing the playoffs again. And frankly if a new HC/GM (though I doubt JR gets the can for a few more seasons) isn't going to want to hinder their team building with a 36+ year old Eli and the contract he brings with it.
  16. It was his rookie year and that team didn't have any success running the ball Wilson or not. He still had a plenty of touches on special teams and got some touches in the run game, I'm sure the coaching staff figured instead of having him killed his rookie year they would let him get experience in the return game. Then he fucked up his neck and the rest is history, it's not like Wilson had his talent squandered, he just had to choose between walking again or trying to play football again.
  17. I don't see the hate, he's probably been the best O-line player this year. Sure the O-line is absolute trash but he's been the only one not getting Eli killed play after play.
  18. I've been saying it that last few season and I'm starting to believe it more now, Eli doesnt retire a Giant. Well maybe he signs a one day contract, but he doesnt finish his career with the Giants is what I should say.
  19. Eli sells tickets, Nassib doesnt. They wont bench him simply because Mara/Tisch are still paying for the new stadium.
  20. I'm sure it will pop up on some Giant's game during the cast. Those NFL statisticians come up with the weirdest stats to show during a game, I'd like to see how many tipped passes have led to INTs in Eli's career.
  21. They still were in college my fault I read their coaching history wrong. And they still had a lot more experience coaching guys who run the offense then the guys just blocking.
  22. Lazor was an OC in college and in the NFL, not to mention he was a QB himself and did nothing but coach QBs his entire career. Lombardi was also an OC in college and the NFL before he got the gig in Detriot, as well as being a QB coach for multiple years. McAdoo was a QB coach for one year in the NFL, and did nothing but coach TEs and OL before his gig in Green Bay. I'm not trying to defend McAdoo but he's never coached at the level he has now or been a play caller, he's never even coached the guys running the offense before having to do it in Green Bay and let's face it what the heck was he going to do to coach Rodgers? "So hey Aaron you know what you have been doing your entire career? Do more of that."
