  1. Well when you pick the Heisman trophy winner who every single draft pundit has toted as the next best RB in the league, of course your gonna get excited.
  2. Shockey would of been better in a system that actually used TE's as a weapon instead of just a blocker who can catch a ball in Silly Gillys O, it's why Boss excelled, he was a decent pass catching extra Olineman. It was the same thing that happened to that "other" Beckum kid the Giant's drafted, by all means a receiving TE who can come out of the back field, on the line or out wide, but the Giant's forced him into the pro typical blocker who can catch a ball TE role. Most disappointing for me? I guess it depends on the circumstances. Currently on the team: JPP (I still think he's horribly overrated in his "run defense" skill and he must of learned from Osi disappearing in big games act) Those who are gone: Baby Moss (Honestly couldnt stay healthy and Gilly couldn't find a role for a speedy WR, thought he would be like the 'Skins Moss) Career cut short due to injury: David Wilson (Fuck imagine him in MacAttacks offense with Beckham) followed by Chad Jones, he would of been a solidy safety in the league.
  3. Wouldn't the Jets be seeing the same injuries though in that case?
  4. He's an allstar, have you seen his twitter feed during the offseason? Is he isnt hanging out with Dez Bryant, he's out with Lebron James, or shooting hoops with *instert some famous NBA player* The great thing though was as soon as OTA's and camps started he was with Eli and the rest of the team. I think he's falling into the diva lifestyle but really as long as he keeps his mouth in check and doesnt think he's bigger than the team (although honestly he could be playing for any team and still be the best) it should be fine.
  5. Oh this silly little rumour, I'm surprised it hasnt died by now. Yeah the O-line was so bad the offense only put up 31 points against the Eagles, to lose the game because the defense couldnt stop the Eagles from scoring 38. Then the defense allowed Green Bay to put up 40 points against the Giants, the four interceptions from Eli didnt all but help. But yeah beating teams like Washington, Minnesota, Jacksonville, Houston, etc was a real indication of the Giant's powerhouse team that year.
  6. This is huge, Peyton has already been showing his age and how gun shy he is under pressure these last few seasons. We might be seeing that backup QB there before midseason for the Broncos now.
  7. I've been mum on Beatty, I think he was gone after this season regardless injury or not, unfortunetly he's play it just to erratic at times to warrant the starting LT money he's getting but he's atleast better than a majority of LT in the league. This gives the Giant's a chance to see if they have the tackles of the future in Flowers/Pugh or is they are going to play "Spin that lineman" and shuffle them around.
  8. See as much as people rail on the teams trainers, I still feel like this is very much true. Wasnt it Amani Toomer who did yoga or some shit in the offseason, every offseason. He was one of the toughest WRs I've ever seen play, Eli left him for dead on I don't know how many throws that he just shook off the hit and kept playing. You would think with stories like Clowny and that guy who went down for the Jags, if I was a player in the NFL I would be doing every last fucking thing imaginable to make sure I was limber for practice/gameday.
  9. I'd throw a contract at Jake Long for a camp body. If the team's trainers (LOL) and doc's figure he can hold up he's be a good backup if/when Flowers struggles, and the Oline start's it's annual injury flop fest.
  10. lol what? He's going to be taken the job away from Leary's easily, I have no idea what you're talking about. Smith, Martin, Federick, Collins, Free. Fuck they have an O-line made up of "4" first round pick talent. Romo better have the MVP trouphy on lock cause there's no way in hell he's gonna be sacked at all this year.
  11. Flowers step on down, time to play "Throw the rookie into the fire". https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SNEKaM3hWJY
  12. http://www.foxsports.com/nfl/story/extra-point-rule-change-nfl-owners-vote-san-francisco-meetings-051915 One year rule change, I like the fact that defenses can score on two point tries now. Oh and this has to be one of the worst articles I've ever read, Fox is even bad at reporting sports.
  13. Everything I've read Pugh is happy where ever the coaching staff sticks him, he's a football player. At the same time I think Pugh should remain a tackle. Flower should ride the bench for a year, fill in where injuries pop up, cut Beatty next off season when it isnt such a cap hit, then stick Flowers at LT and leave him there for the next ten years.
  14. Say what you want Tree but I watch both CFL and NFL religiously. Sometimes more CFL than NFL.
  15. I think Vince Young has that title actually, I remember them making a big deal about it since a rookie would be on the cover. However OBJ is the latest, and we can pretty much guarantee baring some catastrophic injury, he'll be having a better career then VY.
  16. You still believe he would of signed with a team if he was drafted outside of the 3rd round eh?
  17. Should of been a quick Q&A. Reporter: "Steve why did you come back?" Spaggy: "Cause I sucked dick everywhere else" End of interview. Seriously doe, good interview. What's the drawl in his talk? Philly accent?
  18. So the Texans lost Clowny(sp?) last year. This year it's Fowler. Top 5 DEs not doing to good avoiding those season ending injuries.
  19. This, so much of this. And a little of that. I would argue pumping in crowd noise is more beneficial to a team then a few PSI in the balls. And all the Falcons gave up was a 3rd.
  20. Easy now, let's not act like other teams don't cheat in the league. Pumping in crowd noise, PEDs, does no one remember the Giant's stealing radio signals in the 2001? Bounty scandals, salary cap violations and trickery, players (Giant's are notorious) taken dives, hell for Broncos were horribly over the cap each year that they won the SB and nothing came of it. Vikings have been investigated for heating up their footballs, Packers have said they over inflate the ball for Rodgers. These are just things I can think off of the top of my head. Let's not act like all over 31 teams in the league don't bend/break the rules when millions upon millions of dollars are on the line for 60 minutes every Sunday.
  21. I think Merryweather's wife has enough money though.
  22. I know I've come off as an asshole in the other thread about Collins, and I mean this is my main problem with the whole situation. I feel bad for the guy I really do, he works hard his whole life for something that got completely derailed by a woman's tragic murder, the he likely has nothing to do with (but who knows). At the same time I guess what bothers me about the whole thing is Collins or his agent, probably both in all honesty have acted like nothing but a couple whiny children since the whole thing took place. Instead of taking the situation head and enjoying that fact that he STILL can play in the NFL and make a lot of money, just not the first couple of years, they have both just made the situation worse overall and possibly hampered his playing career further.
  23. It would of just been a waste of the pick (granted most 7th rounders are) but why waste a pick on a guy who you know for a fact is just going to re-enter the draft, and get picked by another team the year after. All of this of course assuming he's not charged with anything. Maybe if Collins/ his agent made it known he would be happy with getting picked wherever, I'm sure some team would of used an extra pick on his in the final rounds of the draft, heck maybe some team would of grabbed him with a fourth.
