  1. Good signing by the Bears, I was hoping the Giants could lure this guy in with they money that they had. The guys a thumper and probably one of the best tacklers in the league, something we sorely miss.
  2. Wake was doing what he does long before Vernon was even in the league. Both are good players though, Vernon would instantly improve the Dline especially with the Gints just signing Snacks.
  3. Yeah Iloka is off the table. Really the way FA is looking there isnt a safety out there worth any money that wasnt tagged by his team. Giant's might have to look at the draft for someone to pair next to Collins, should make a hard push for a DE/LB/WR with whoever is left in FA.
  4. It happens every year though in the NFL, kids get drafted by some team thinking they can make them work, don't do anything and "bust" out of the league. Who knows what would of happened if they went to some other team.
  5. He's a good corner, going to miss a game or two every year but he's young and a talent. Means the end of The Giant formerly known as Prince in all likelyhood.
  6. Honestly he's look better after blowing up his hand then the last two years. Hopefully he keeps it going into next season.
  7. I think his health and the fact he plays for the Detroit Lions factored into his decision. Kinda the same route Barry Sanders had, guy was the best in the game, retired early because what's the point of risking your body for a team that will never win anything. Sad as it is to see.
  8. It's going to be weird not seeing 'Ol forehead on the field next season. Almost as weird to think our big dork of a QB has already been in the league for 12 years and is counting down to his retirement. Felt like it was yesterday I was saying Eli will never win a playoff game. Or maybe it was yesterday...
  9. lol Alonso, I remember the NFL talking heads going shit fit crazy when the Eagles brought him in and how he was gonna be the new big shit LB to lead the team.
  10. I think Cruz takes the paycut, him and his agent know he's basically a broken commodity with no value until he can prove otherwise in free agency. He'd be an idiot not to take the paycut. Plus I think he can still be a solid slot WR in the NFL, if he doesnt end up on the IR again that is.
  11. Whhaaaaaa Sure he had a down year but the guy has been a good starting DE in the league. Guess they figure he's done with his age.
  12. No but drafting two-three guys who can probably come in and start day one can help the defense out.
  13. The Gints gave up 60+ yard winning drives in the final two minutes of the game multiple times last season. A starting LB/DE/Safety who could of made a single play on a sack/pick/deflection/tackle that wasnt made probably stops that from happening. Or a starting WR/Oline/RB who picks up a first down/catches a pass/breaks a tackle probably doesnt give the other team a chance to win. The team doesnt have playmakers (besides OBJ) on it, it doesnt even have a starting quality players at most positions.
  14. I just think most people are annoyed with his "We were a playoff team if we could finish games" bit every time he's asked about the season. Every off season he seems to come up with an excuse as to why the Giants have been a mediocre and declining team the past five seasons. The coaching, the players, the injuries, the schedule, whatever else he can come up with, he's pretty good at deflecting any blame away from him. Would be nice to see an article from Little Bitch Mara one day saying "Shut the fuck up JR and do your job" But he's not his father.
  15. See to me, I feel this team is gonna take more then one or two offseasons, infact I think the Giant's dont make the playoffs for the next four or five seasons, but anyways I feel like the team has so many holes to fill and stud players to go out and get, they need to fill up where they can with the talent they can. I know the Giants could go out and get the best RB in the draft, he'll probably be there, but when you see as well the Giants could potentially get the best LB/DL in the draft and get another solid starting player on the defense in round two, heck maybe even in round three, I say they pull the trigger and load up on offence next year. Just my opinion though, I feel like Spags needs players if he's ever going to have a defense that isnt bottom of the league, and to ignore that for another year is setting the team up for another turnover at the coaching level. Atleast the offence has a solid base to work from, Pugh, Richburg, Flowers, OBJ, the RBs are fine. The defense has DRC and Collins, and no one else really. But like I said just my opinion, if this years championship games did show anything it was a defense can carry even an over the hill noodle armed QB to the SB and win.
  16. I know like many of you my eyes were glued to the TV watching the 2016 combine while the LBs and Dline guys went through their plethora of drills. After listening to the talking heads go on and on about this year draft and combine results/prospects I can honestly say that unless JR is the worst GM in the NFL, the Giants should come out with a starting DE/LB in this years draft. There is so much talent in this draft in the front seven potions that unless they are throwing darts at the draft board they should easily be able to identify a couple kids in rounds one and two who will come in and start on the defense. This is the most lopsided draft in terms of talent in a long time, the defensive pool is crazy deep. But it wont surprise me to see JR and CO use the first three picks on a WR/OG/RB.
  17. Funny you mention Lawson, I was thinking "Man he'd be a force in a 4-3, fuck he'd even be able to play standing up" Hope he falls with all the Dline talent in the draft.
  18. If only it was that easy in the NFL. It's not like Randle would break the bank or anything, he knows the system and for some reason either MacAttack or Eli are letting Randle fuck them in the ass because he's a very popular target in the offence. The Giants can look for a legit #2, but in the meantime why open up ANOTHER slot on the team to fill letting go off Randle, who hasnt been as bad as people here make him out to be, can stay here and help the team.
  19. You mean he's flying down a on plane, with other people, one of whom is none other then Mr.Bigmac himself? STOP THE FUCKING PRESSES. Even when the article mentions "Coughlin isn't coaching an NFL team, but he's going to be in Indianapolis for the NFL's "Madden Committee," which is the coaches' subcommittee of the competition committee." Stupid article.
  20. Neither is 75% of the team but we aint gonna get them all in one off season.
  21. Yeah most teams are lucky if they get one or two guys who contribute in a positive way every year from the draft, honestly. They usually take a few seasons to develop the talent, if any, to be players who will actually help the team win.
  22. Pretty much sums up modern day news/journalism.
  23. I wouldnt have a problem with this. Guys is a solid starting safety and up till last year when the Chargers put him on IR for no reason that I can see, he's never missed a game. He'd be able to mentor Collins and bring some leadership this team sorely lacks. Heck he'd probably be cheaper then trying to keep Mook. It makes so much sense that JR isnt even thinking about it.
  24. To be fair that's what 90% of any college ball looks like. I still don't understand how scouts can grade players.
  25. This. With the new rookie signing agreement I don't think a rookie can sign for longer than four years with a fifth year option, don't quote me on this though. Granted you would expect to have aleast one or two "solid players" from those years still on the team, guys who have been core players and helped your team win. Reese has failed to get players who have been able to be a core part of any successful team really, now there are circumstances such as injury hurting a lot of these first round picks, Nicks, Wilson, JPP (although it was his own fault) I'd assume if any of those guys were able to stay healthy they would still be on the team.
