  1. I think because he ended up signing a "higher position" with the Saints as an Assistant HC as well. He was able to leave freely as all coaches are for a better position on another team.
  2. Well a new OC is coming in, hopefully takes the play calling AWAY from McAttack. Never seen an offence rely so heavily on having a WR turn a 5 yard slant into a 55 yard TD.
  3. LOL Guess the Giant's took the "Try to force one more playoffs run out of Eli before he hangs them up". Prepare for a few years of JR selling off the teams future to the biggest FA contract out there and trying to force stuff to fit. Oh well atleast OBJ can go play for a contender in a couple years.
  4. Back when this place actually used to be fun. Well not really, the fun died with GD. Dude.
  5. JR has made some good signings, Jennins, Vereen, Mitchell (Who he should of fucking kept), Rolle, Weatherford, Bennet (Who he should of also fucking kept) Unfortunately his number of signings that just didnt do a single things for the team or had no real impact, as well as the players who he SHOULD have kept outweighs that list. His draft record speaks for itself. I think the state of the defense alone, the LB core, Dline (even with a healthy JPP), are all at this point back up/rotational players. Outside of Hankins, JPP (until he walks), Kennard are the only real starting players, with Ayers sitting on the fence because his contract is up I believe.
  6. The thing is I never had any stake in this thread, Seph is just looking for an argument at this point lol And you're right forgot Billy followed Parcells to NE and NY.
  7. Settle down Seph, as I said I do not care about Parcells or Cowher, nor have I said anything about what I think about either, other than pointing out your statement can be "fixed" heh I think Parcells is a HoF coach. Cowher is a good coach who is a sports caster.
  8. Look at the Vikings LBs and Dline, controlling Seattle's offence. I remember when the Giants had starters at those positions. Thanks Obama JR.
  9. Cowher had two playoff runs and four seasons of missing the playoffs sans LeBeau, he made the playoffs 33% of the time without LeBeau. Parcells had five playoff runs including a Superbowl trip and six seasons of missed playoffs sans Belichick, Parecells made it 45% of the time without Bilichick. Both of them were pretty average when their all star DC left. And really I never said greatest coach ever, I don't even know where you think I said anything about Parcells lol I just thought it was funny that you could replace Parcells and Cowher in your post and it was the same message. Cowher is where he belongs in sports casting, Parcells is where he belongs in the HoF. Not really an opinion just fact.
  10. Cowher teams were built on defense. LaBeau was his coordinator and constructed those defenses. Without LeBeau, Cowher never won a playoff game. Again, he talks a good game and is really quotable, but without he's more Rex Ryan than Lombardi. He's in the NFL Today Studios because one of the best coaches of all time ran his defense. His time in NFL Today was really unremarkable and it's not a coincidence that LeBeau wasn't there for that run. Fixed.
  11. He still has the desire to win, he'll coach another team in the NFL.
  12. Shame that a good/great player had his career basically ended by a string of injuries every year, if only the Giant's could of gotten some of those years he put in with the Panthers, he would of been one bright spot on the defense. JR really has his work cut out for him. Maybe Beason can take a player coaching role or whatever, he seems like he's smart enough and has the leadership to coach.
  13. Yeah I'm not saying Flowers did horrible, but he wasnt anything special as well, or even good, he was a rookie who shouldnt of been starting. I was for sitting him the entire year at the beginning of the season, let Flaherty beat technique into his skull for an entire year while rotating him in on heavy packages and to let someone take a breather. He couldnt the injury bug hit again, which was unfortunate. I'm sure next season he'll be able to show what he can do and why the Giant's picked him at 9, cause he needs to be the anchor the Oline needs for these next few years as Eli's career comes to an end.
  14. Wasnt the knock of Flowers was the he was strong but really raw when it came to football fundamentals. He wasnt AS NFL ready, he'll be a special player in another year of coaching, but he's got to learn technique because he cant rely on his strength like he did in college. Still don't see why people are giving him such praise, he wasnt even starter quality, but he was thrust into a position due to injury.
  15. Easy now Jim. When did I say we should "keep this current defense?" This team needs a rebuild from top to bottom, but a change to a 3-4 basically means we throw every single defensive player out the door besides the secondary and a few players. In a 4-3 we atleast have a lot of capable backups, the LB core is solid in a 4-3, along with the defensive line, granted like I said most of the current players are just backups/rotation players in a 4-3. Either way it's gonna take a lot of work, which is why I want a defensive minded HC, enough is enough, bring back Gints football.
  16. I feel like a switch to a 3-4 would basically gurantee a number of seasons of a rebuild. No LB on this roster is currently capable of being a 3-4 LB. Kennard is to small to be in the middle to take on guards and to slow to be a rushing outside LB. The D-line would be fine with Hankins at nose tackle, JPP would need to learn to play standing up since he wouldnt be able to play on a three man line. Ayers would make a decent outside 3-4 LB. Collins would make an excellent box safety in a 3-4, but we would need to draft/sign a ball hawk free safety to play deep coverage effectively. I feel we would need to draft/sign another 6-7 starters to make the 3-4 work effectively in the system, which I don't have faith in JR doing.
  17. I'd like Schwartz, or maybe Mike Smith. Hell if Cowher can get himself a decent DC to come with him I would take him as well. I just want a coach who can finally fix this defense after the last seven or eight seasons, it's enough.
  18. He was somehow able to get 9 wins out of a Bills team, with Kyle Orton at QB and that defense was mauling. I'd like a defensive minded HC.
  19. I cant see the Giants hiring a college guy. Mara gave every impression about wanting to "Win now" with Eli and CO at Coughlins press conference. They are going to want to bring in a guy who can turn this thing around as fast as possible and try to push another post season run before Eli decides to hang them up. Now if they were gonna blow the whole thing up (which by all accounts they are not gonna do) I could see them bringing in a college guy and letting him build "his team" for the next number of years. Plus hiring college guys isnt Mara's MO.
  20. And only another 13 years after that before he wins anything. Oh and only if JR can find a HoF DC to carry him to the SB. Cant wait.
  21. Mara likes to hire guys with NFL experience, seems to be his thing anyways. I highly doubt the Gints hire anyone out of college.
  22. You son of a.... JR is going to get the chance to finally build "his team", he had to work a coach/qb/staff from the EA era, Mara is gonna give him another chance. Ross is gonna be gone more then likely. MacAddo and Spags should start thinking about selling their NY homes, no HC is gonna want to be forced into working with coordinators he doesnt want.
  23. He did the right thing for the team as well. He wasnt fired, he didnt have to retire, all these stupid articles saying "He hasnt made a decision yet" and was gonna force their hand. He wants to coach but he knows it's time to move on from the Gints, I hope he does well whereever he does as long as it's outside the NFC East lol Respect.
  24. P.S. I hope Coughlin told them that MacAttack isnt ready to be a head coach lol one last parting gift from the man who brought another two SB wins to the team.
  25. Honestly GOAT. Ring of honour, Hall of Fame, the man deserves it all. This era of Gints football has come to an end, the next page is about to begin, cant wait to hear all the "opinions" on here about the rebuild. He's going to coach again, will be interesting to see where it is and will kill me to see him in a different team colour.
