The Good, the Bad, the Ugly... Giants/Skins

The Good

Linval Joseph continues his dominant play. He's been our most consistent D-lineman thus far, and needs to be locked up while we can still probably get him cheap.

The pass rush has finally come alive, and had another good week.

The Mook is turning into a very good corner.

Victor Cruz has his biggest play of the season, and arguably of his career (though I'd say the Jets play last year was bigger).

Nice to see both Rivers and Canty back.

The Bad

How many 4th downs do we have to give up? We should have lost that game. Pathetic.

Eli throwing two picks. Dunno what's wrong with him but at lest he got it solved when it was most important.

Defense as a whole continues to give up too many big runs.

Corey Webster's inexplicable jump to let RGIII run for a first down... what, were you gonna block the pass from 5 yards out, Corey?

The Ugly

What was up with Bradshaw losing his shit on the sidelines?

Michael Boley's penalty that he very well could have been ejected for.

Aikman explained it as he was caught between rock and hard place. If he charged RG he would have thrown it over his head. If he laid back, he runs.

These are the 2 that stick out most to me. Real happy with Linval, agree need to be locked up soon.

Good win for the Giants. :TU:

I didn't mind Bradshaw losing his shit---he was quite obviously right. As far as I know, it happened after Eli threw that pick, backed in our own end....when he should have been being fed constantly. He didn't rush all that bad today, despite seemingly being held to low numbers----there was no rhythm, rhyme, or reason behind the offensive playcalling today, especially when it came to a rushing game that had like, what 400 yards of offense in the last two games? It was atrocious. This isn't the time to get cute and fancy.

I think Aikman was right, too. Webster was trying to keep depth to cover the guy that was behind him while still trying to keep Griffin from running...obviously, it didn't work, but I don't think there was all that much he could do, the guy was pretty much wide open even with Webster playing where he was....

I agree completely.

The good: Stevie Smith had another solid game. Bennet appears to be the best TE we've had in a long time. The guy is impressing the heck out of me. Blackburn looked real good today. Osi made a cameo show.

Ugly, ugly, ugly......there was a whole lot of ugly to discuss. Eli's erratic throwing and we gave up 248 freakin yards rushing. We aren't going all the way if we can't stop the run any better than that. But I'll give a nod of respect for Morris. He is a helluva bulldozing RB.

Late in the 4th after the rg3 fumble they call pass and give the ball right back .... Then later on 3rd and 1 they try a long sideline pass? It's like they have zero understanding of how to run down a fucking clock..... Great pass to Cruz at the end but it shouldn't have come down to that

It was like they read all of the NFL.com articles on the game. The offense forced throws against a bad secondary all game and it led to some bad decision-making by Eli, and JPP and company spent all day chasing RGIII from behind, JUST like he said they would do when asked about RGIII

Still, they came out on top in spite of themselves and any time you can do that DESPITE your gameplan being flawed, that's saying something about the players you have out there, IMO.

Plus, Bradshaw was fired up and wanted to win, it's good to see that from him, he WANTS to be the starting tailback, he WANTS every touch. And IMO, he deserves the lion-share so far this season.

They did it against the Browns, too, when the game wasn't all that out of reach....instead of running clock they wanted to put up more yardage through the air for some reason.....

The end of game play calling was reckless at best, and the 3rd and 1 throw to Nicks was idiotic. That's a tough throw and catch. Like Storm said no fancy shit you need 3 fucking feet get it and keep the clock moving. That said, a win is a win. My bitching ends now. I was very impressed with Griffin. Hes even better than I expected. Morris ran like a bull today. The Redskins are coming I hope we can find a gameplan for them they played well.

Stevie Brown, lol.

Why you laughing?

He had 6 solo tackles (3rd most on the team), 1 pass deflected, and 1 interception that he returned for 41 yards.

That's a good day in any safties book!

Oh crap.....and I just got your sarcasm. I keep calling Stevie Brown, Stevie Smith......2nd time in a week I've done that. My bad.......duhhhh!

The power running game ate the defense up the while game. How much was accounting for the rg3 option and how much was just the inability of the line to handle a power back.

Good news is few teams rely on a straight up power game.

Alfred Morris is a beast, seemed like he was more physical than a lot of our guys....

rg3 just turns the ball over, we have a 7 point lead, there are 7 minutes left and we throw a quick slant in their territory on the first play? that's just stupid.

first play should be a run. those last 3 scores in the game shouldn't even have happened

it was just a bad decision. i dont care if the run goes for 0 yards. 2nd and 10 with the clock running is way better than a 3 and out with 15 seconds taken off the clock and us punting it back (let alone an interception)
