  1. I guess it's a Giant's winning record last year, and the Raven's sucking ass. Yes, the little toady is still there.
  2. Some more rants: 1) Quarterback sneaks with Lorenzen is vaguely unfair. 2) WR got a tad interesting: Keep Mix, Jennings, or Ponder? Jennings would be a plus at specials, but Mix looks like he could give us some YAC. I think they'll keep one, because I doubt they have faith in Carter staying healthy. 3) Who is Evans? Granted he was playing in the scrub bowl, but he seemed to be around the ball a lot. 4) McNeil didn't look too bad, either. 5) Kiwi looked a lot like Osi did the first couple of years: get upfield, and forget about the run.
  3. I'm watching it now. First stringers weren't too bad. The defense was a little slow off the ball, had a little trouble shedding blocks, but nothing that can't get fixed. Not sure you why you would stunt with Robbins and Osi and try to get Robbins running around a tackle. The OL needs some work, but Suebert wasn't where he typically plays, and the Ravens were blitzing rather than giving some vanilla defense. Manning wasn't too bad considering the protection problems. In a nutshell, we're fucked. I forgot how much I despise Billick. Based on his running, I guess Jamal Lewis' asshole has returned to its normal size after getting stretched last summer.
  4. Toomer, from the reports I've seen, has had a good camp as well. I get the feeling, and it is a feeling, nothing more, that he's going to have a better this year than last, since his receiving skills haven't diminished (his speed may have), and I don't think Manning is going to be as shy to throw it to Toomer as he was early last year.
  5. What's wrong with Diehl? He must be doing something right, or your dream would have come true by now. Although Suebert is doing some work at center, from what I've read.
  6. Emmons signalling to sideline that he remains uninjured during the start of a drill.
  7. From what I heard on WFAN, Ward broke his foot on his way to a meeting. Good to see the traditional Giants luck hasn't left... At least Snee doesn't need surgery.
  8. Let him get through a preseason game before I even think about getting excited about him. I've been hearing his praises for 4 years now, and he's one of the best players never to get off of IR.
  9. I don't really like them, and they're not different enough to justify a change to begin with.
  10. Well, that's it then. I'm off to the fall-out shelter.
  11. With this team, I think that's absolutely doable, even with the schedule. That's if they live up to the billing.
  12. From everything I've read, things seem to be going good so far. Even Coughlin seems to be as pleased as he's ever going to be. The only real issues (not including the non-event Shockey comment) seem to be injuries to Moss, Shockey, and DeLoatch. And even those (well, maybe not DeLoatch) don't seem to be too horrorfying. It seems with every passing day I'm growing optimistic. But I'm so accustomed to letdowns, I'm cringing. Anybody else feeling this combination optimism/apprehension?
  13. Here Lots o' stuff about linebackers past and present. Also this: I somehow doubt "racing" is an accurate description. But it must have been a blast to watch.
  14. Yeah, why not? He's easily replaced. We have Boo Williams now, so why hesitate?
  15. Context people. He throws his helmet down the day after making a well-intentioned but boneheaded comment. All of a sudden he's created a media-circus around training camp, which was the last thing he intended to do. Then the next day he gets a mild concussion in practice, while he has this stupid distraction going on. It's a bad two days for the guy, and he naturally gets frustrated with himself to begin with. I don't have any particular inside knowledge here, but from the look of things, this seems to be what's going on.
  16. see? If you like his tough, gritty bitchy, whiney New York writing style, this is for you!
  17. He didn't even make it to a practice this year. I mean, sure, it's not like he's going on IR, but it's just a matter of time. How many times do they have to get slapped in the head?
  18. Just for that, I hope McPherson signs and becomes all-Pro! (Well, not really just for that...I mean, I kinda hope all of our draft choices become all-pro every year. I know it's not going to happen, I just do. So this really isn't a spite thing per se, but it would really show you, wouldn't it? But then again, you're a Giants fan too, so you really wouldn't be upset if McPherson became a great player either, so this really wouldn't be a spiteful comment at all. And him being a 7th rounder, you really couldn't be expected to know he would be a great player, even if he did turn out to be one. So much for making you look foolish. At worst, you'd be pleasantly surprised.) Then you'll be pleasantly surprised!!!! Oh, and good news about Kiwi, too.
  19. You've seen Eric Moore play? When? He missed all of training camp last year, and never saw the field in regular season, that I recall. I think Kiwi has more to worry about in Justin Tuck than he does last year's 6th-rounder. For Kiwi to hold out for any reason, after being injured his senior season, would be career suicide. He still has to prove that he was worth the first round pick, particularly since his value plummetted as much it did last year, so he's not in any position to hold out at this time. Considering the level of competition, he really can't afford to miss much in the way of practice.
  20. They might be thinking that we might continue in our good season/bad season tradition. On paper, we're as good as anybody.
  21. I doubt a second-rounder is going to hold out, and if Kiwi tries it, all he'll have to do is look at the roster to see why Ernie is laughing so hard.
  22. I don't know how good Arrington will be this year, but if it doesn't work out, it won't be from lack of trying.
  23. I miss those players. There was something about those teams, even before '86. I miss John Mendenhall, too.
  24. As displayed lovingly in Inside Football. I wish you young guys could have seen him in his prime. We may not have had an offense back in the day, but we sure had linebackers!
