  1. I would take pretty much everyone in my tier 1 Rodgers, Stafford (team isn't close enough for it to make sense for a couple years), and maybe Tua. I think I would still take Murray over DJ. The rest I think are pretty obvious. Maybe guys like Hurts and Dak have been blessed with high powered offenses loaded with talent that DJ could replicate their success, but that would be an assumption, those guys have performed at a high level. I'd give strong consideration to the tier 2 guys. Nobody I would choose over DJ in tier 3. And I like DJ, he's done what has been asked of him this year, is starting to show his arm talent, and has been dealt a shit hand to start his career. Just the body of work has not shown enough to say this is a guy that isn't replaceable at this point, and if given the option between DJ and about half the QB's in the league, it is a pretty clear answer. Maybe that reduces to about the top 10-12 qbs in the league when you factor his work ethic and character. Would like to see him blow up the Colts in a huge win and in game against a weaker team.
  2. Think of it less as tiers and more this way. Tier 1 is the top 12 QB's in terms of not going anywhere for a while ranked however you see fit. They are either proven studs or have shown enough / belioeved to have enough potential that their teams will not be moving on from them for a while. Tier two is 13-15 ranked however. They have a track record, probably not going anywhere but have shorter leashes if they have a bad season. Tier 3 is 16-24 ranked however. Their teams would not be above upgrading if the right opportunity came up, but are likely to ride with them another year or two while the team sorts itself out and/or finds the replacement.
  3. Yeah but again, the tier 1 is not proven talent level, it is basically job security over the next 3 seasons.
  4. It isn't so much that they are elite, but at current level of play I don't see them being replaced in the next few years. I'm torn on Tua, might just be I like to see a left handed qb do well, but I agree he is not an elite talent. I don't think Murray is necessarily elite either, but he has shown he can win, put up numbers, etc and unless they decide to blow the team up, he will be given a lot of rope and there is almost no chance he gets benched in the next few seasons. That was my tier criteria. Lawrence, his rookie year is a throw away as that team was just dysfunctional, this is like a repeat rookie year for him. Carr and Kirk are pretty clear upgrades over DJ, but to be perfectly fair, a lot more talent and maybe more stability around them for their careers.
  5. How I see the the QB tiers in the NFL, not sure who I am missing. Each tier is not necessarily ranked individually. I have DJ probably at or near the top of Tier 3. What it means to me is if I were given the option for a 1 for 1 trade with any of the guys in tier 1 or 2, I would take it. I think Goff is the question mark, but hard to look past what he has done this year with a really questionable squad. Tua is another one just because he is surrounded by so much talent, but dude has delivered this year. And no I don't think Dak is in the same league as Mahomes, but the tiers were more about clear cut franchise QB's in tier 1, solid but ultimately maybe not entrenched as irreplaceable guys in tier 2, question marks in tier 3, and either no fly or not enough evidence in tier 4. I think Jones is a lot like Jimmy G, could be a tier 2 guy but also tier 3. Tier 1 Tier 2 Tier 3 Tier 4 Mahomes Cousins G. Smith Ryan Allen Goff D. Jones Wilson Burrow Carr Mills Brissett Herbert M. Jones Dalton Lawrence Jimmy G Mariota Tua Tennehill Pickett Hurts Fields Z. Wilson Rodgers Mayfield Wentz Prescott Heincke Trubisky Murray Jackson Stafford
  6. And this season is shaping up to be a win and get in in week 18 against the Eagles, who will play all starters just to stick it to the Giants again.
  7. As he was lining up I said to myself this can't possibly happen again.
  8. Well, I think he definitely showed what he can do with his arm today. His down field throws were money/ The INT was pretty bad but overall that is a QB that can carry a team.
  9. Been stealing games and watching on my tablet for a few years now. I might actually pay for this.
  10. That’s the issue. yeah it’s hard to judge a guy on his third hc, fourth oc, no receivers etc. but I also think it’s safe to say he’sa game manager at best. He’s had the game in his hands and I don’t think we’ve seen him take over with his arm. He’s got the arm talent and the leg talent. But does he have the it factor? Not sure. But unless we’re looking to trade a lot of draft capital to move up we’re not taking a qb this year. So fix the team around him and let him spend a year or two proving what he can do.
  11. That was a career defining performance. Seemed like he was wherever the action was all game.
  12. If OBJ was signing with the Giants, it'd be done by now. They would need him for this Commanders game.
  13. Hampton was probably my first favorite Giant. I came along during the super bowl against the bills as a 12 year old kid watching really his first NFL game, so I missed much of the LT / Simms greatness era. But Hampton was the first guy I kind of attached to, him and Jumbo.
  14. I mean, how about Plaxico Burress. I love the guy, but also hate him. Giants are 11-1, scoring 30 points / game and he shoots himself. Giants score 20 points per game and lose 4 of the final 5 games, including the playoff game against the eagles. Very likely back to back super bowl wins if he doesn't shoot himself.
  15. Dude got drunk on the airport and didn’t want to leave the plane. Not like he was causing trouble. I always get shitfaced at the airport.
  16. Have to figure for giants it became about driving up the price for the cowboys. Pretty clear we’re more than obj away from a real run and signing him long term likely becomes a problem for us during a rebuild.
  17. From what I remember of the scouting reports around the draft was he got by ion college off a great first step and would have to develop true pass rushing moves at the next level. He'll develop. He was a major disruption against the Cowboys, he'll add a move to his arsenal and learn how to use them with each other.
  18. Webster is a great choice. Have to also mention Tiki. His last 5 seasons were unbelievable. Averaged over 2,000 yards from scrimmage.
  19. Who’s the guy you most often just reminisce about, or randomly think of how great they were. pretty regularly I remember Jeremy Shockey. How great was that guy? Shame how it all unfolded, but he was such a dominant player.
  20. Have to wonder if there will ever be lawsuits for stunted or shortened careers due to the playing surface issues.
  21. dude was fractions of a second from multiple sacks yesterday and forced multiple bad throws.
  22. That would be a god deal while they figure out how long the rebuild is going to take and work on a longer term deal.
