Times to call it on jones. I was among his biggest cheerleaders this off-season but it’s clear he isn’ta starting qb. Bad decisions. Inaccurate throws. Shell shocked and trying to get the ball out and throwing wherever the most people with any color uniform are at. Baker looks bad but you can see the success he’s had, throws it downfield with some confidence. Jones just looks like ever throws is a prayer.

This offense is brutal

I think the argument would be some of those Richie James targets should probably go to Toney. I mean he played well considering, but Toney is that "potential to take it to the house on any play" guy. We were happy James was actually catching his targets. If 2 or 3 weeks down the road Toney isn't a bigger part of the game plan, there's a problem. Week 1, factoring in everything, no issue yet. all that said, this is Saquon's offense and he should get 25 + touches a game.

Chalk it up to the coaching staff figuring things out a little. Saquon didn't get much in the first half either and I have to think Richie James leading this WR group in targets isn't the goal going forward.

Not gonna lie I was pissed whenever the offense stayed out initially. That conversion did whe for this team what the goal line stop did against the Skins week 3 of the first SB season. Probably not the same and results but sets the tone for this teams future

Dude is on a mission and needs his contract before the end of the season.

If the 2nd half is what this team and coaching staff is, than this will be a fun season. Right now I’m chalking up the first half to a learning experience for everyone. imagine if they utilized Saquon like that in the first half.

Yes, Saquon needs to be part of this team’s future.

I think he can have a Tannehil type career if he lands in a similar situation

Going into the season not expecting much more than indicators things are turning around. First year of a rebuild, so just want to see some evidence the new regime has s a plan and just needs to assemble their team. Rooting for jones to show he’s the guy.

I think Saquon has a good year and we resign him. i think jones shows a large step forward and makes the decision hard but ultimately not enough to justify a larger contract for a mid tier qb during a rebuild. We draft a qb and it’s possible jones signs a one year prove it deal to audition for other teams in 23 while giving the new qb a chance to sit for half a season. i agree with seph that Neal will struggle for several weeks especially in pass protection. But I think there are enough gadgets on the team and a little more innovative offense that will minimize the weakness of the line and jones abs percent all out stacking the box. I think we’ll get a taste of what a functioning offense looks like but still a lot of holes. a better pass rush but not earth shattering. we’ll get torched in the air and as a result McKinney will get 10 ints.

I don't disagree, but I imagine if it looked like the Giants were in a good position to draft Arch, the Manning family would reach out and ask that they not. Still, if Arch is a top of the draft prospect and the Giants are still looking for their QB, it would be hard to make a case against taking him. But ultimately, this is still a high school kid and the odds of lightning striking 4 times in one family are pretty low.

It'd be unfair for the Giants, Colts, or Saints to draft Arch. What'd be funny is if a scenario like Eli in 2004 played out, like the Browns want him #1 overall and he refuses to sign so they trade him to the Bears or 49ers or something.

Those are all great points, and there were just some unforgivable things he did along te way that make me not hate that he got canned. I do think he has the potential to be a good coach, but the team, the owners, the circumstances just weren't great for him, and he didn't know if he should stick with his guns, listen to the fans and media, so we would change some things all up, but often the wrong things, and just made bad decisions. The Giants just are not a good organization under this ownership.

I’m torn between the Giants and NY logos. The giants logo is just so nostalgic for me these days. But I remember really liking the switch to NY. It would be hard for me to choose a permanent.

Should just eliminate the salary cap. Basically you’ve got 5 years to win a super bowl after drafting a franchise qb before you have to pay him and start dismantling the team around him

Giants should jump on the black helmet trend, incorporate the blue in it.

I think this year is about keeping the drama and media circus too a minimum while they rebuild. Makes sense for the panthers, less so for the giants. This year is about evaluating of jobs is the guy, if Barkley can produce, AB’s getting money off the books for next year.
