  1. Could be that was an intentional pun, could be you see penis everywhere. Both could also be true.
  2. Yeah, its a total crapshoot. But we know what we don't have.
  3. What a game. I guess I'm just spamming at this point since apparently I'm the only one watching the game and only one posting. But here is my final impression. Both QBs in this game are great. Nix turned it around after a rocky start, but his most crucial plays were with his feet. He is probably the most NFL ready because he likes to sit in the pocket and read the field. He gets too still and statue like if he gets comfortable in a clean pocket. He also does not deliver the most accurate ball. He got bailed out by good catches but to his credit they were catchable, just not lead the receiver to a spot accurate, more the WR has to adjust to catch it. Pros: If you give him a pocket he will read the field and deliver it to the open receiver. Pretty fast and will take off if its open field in front of him. His arm is fine, I've heard he is a little under powered but I didn't see that. He is confident and will make the throw that is there. Cons: Too reliant on that nice clean pocket. Likes to sit down for 4 seconds and look at every option. Tends to take a long time to make a decision. He will take a lot of sacks at the NFL level. My opinion of him is he wants to be that all-american hero type, he's trying to hard. He wants to be "that guy". When they scored late in the game, he stood stoicly on the sideline, in front of everyone, chest out, like a hero, like he's trying to be that Troy Aikman type. But in the closing minutes, after they scored (because of great WR play) to bring it within 3, he was hiding under a towel on the sideline while Washington was driving. The whole time. Like making sure the cameras were capturing him in this gut wrenching moment. He's too aware of his own star power and that everyone is watching him and he wants to live up to the idea of what a great QB should be. I want my QB there being the loudest cheerleader and for the defense and inspiring the team. Penix is everything I want in a QB, great arm and athleticism (but isn't looking to bail and run all that often). It would be a crime if we draft him and Daboll tried to exploit his leg talent like he did with Jones last year. I don't know if he can throw 75 or 80 yards, but I know he can sling that ball from anywhere to everywhere with zip and his accuracy is uncanny. He leads receivers - and that is most evident on screens. He gets the ball out so fucking fast on those plays and in the perfect spot for the receiver to catch and run. At the 2 minute mark, driving to seal the game, it was 3rd and 4 and there was no doubt he would covert with his arm. And he had the ball out within a half second to covert. Pros: Amazing arm talent. Great decision making. Great accuracy. Poised, smart, and the unquestioned leader. Can buy time and run for yardage but isn't looking to do that unless necessary. Take Brett Favre, give him top tier decision making, the confidence to make any throw but the smarts to not make every throw that puts the ball in harms way, and you have Penix. Gets the ball out fast, real fast. He can sit back in a pocket and wait for things to happen, but he can make a decision quick. Cons: Hard to judge this off one game against a good team, but a little too quick to bail on a play and throw an off-balance ball. Luckily, at this level, he has the arm talent to make that work more often than not. But I would want to see him stand tall when pressure comes up the middle and step into throws. I get the feeling he lacks touch on soft, short throws. I kept wondering why Oregon kept running inside the 10, costing Penix TDs in a Heisman race, but then late in the game they threw it a couple times inside the 5 and they were bad balls. Too much zip, not enough finesse (Favre). He did end up making a nice touch throw for a TD, but it took him 3 tries. I want to see him against a top tier SEC defense because I do have concerns about his response to inside pressure. It isn't that he is averse to getting hit, more that he is really averse to taking a sack. The other thing is there were two throws, intermediate and deep, that if he throws it earlier than he did, it's probably a TD both times, but he waited just a little too long to make the throw. Conclusion: I went into this game on the Bo bandwagon, just wanting to confirm my bias. But I was hooked on Penix after the first throw. I was getting mad that Oregon was running so well because I felt like I was being robbed of seeing Penix throw. Bo, irconically, reminds me a lot of Bo Callahan in the Draft Day movie. All-American type guy very into how he appears to the world, but something underneath is amiss. I still think he will be a good pro, but I have my concerns. If both are available to us when we pick, my deepest desire will be to draft Penix. That was incredibly long and nobody will read it, and I'm the furthest thing from analyst level on this board, but I now love me some Penix.
  4. Through 3 quarters now. Great game, Nix has turned it around the Oregon leads. I think both these guys will be really good pros. Probably just the Oregon thing, but I see Nix as Justin Herbert type. Good pocket passer but can move. Good enough arm. Prototypical type guy. Penix though, I'm seeing Brett Favre and Josh Allen. There is nothing he can't do with that arm, from any spot on the field, from any arm slot, on the run, under duress,...anything and anywhere. BUT, better at making decisions, isn't a pure gunslinger that will turn it over a bunch. Made a bad decision on the INT and gets a little antsy if things break down, but the guy is just electric. Puts the ball on the fucking mark with every throw, with authority but catchable. I am just entranced by him. This is the first game I have watched of his and it is so clear if he was right handed, had less of an injury history, he'd be the number 1 pick. Burt honestly after the initial shock you forget somehow that he is throwing left handed. Like, with Tua, Vick, Young - the fact they are left handed was always front and center in your mind, Penix just delivers the ball so well, throws it so quick. I may really be in love.
  5. That was a bad INT, so far what I see is he gets a little quick to throw off off balance if there is any sign of the pocket collapsing. I'd almost rather he take off and run in those situations but other than the INT, the off schedule, off balance, side arm throws have worked out tonight. Probably needs to stand in there a little longer and deliver the ball though, really no reason to get happy feat the times he has done it.
  6. My man is dropping fucking dimes. Why is he not a top 5 projected pick? What am I missing? He has it all.
  7. I'm in on him, all the way. I really have not watched any Washington games this year, so maybe I should go back and watch some highlights an read what experts think his weaknesses atre, but I just love watching him tonight. That deep pass could have been thrown sooner just now but it looked like he was going through his reads. Dude looks like the real deal.
  8. Well boys, it's been a long time coming. Been a month since they won and I am still riding fucking high.
  9. Or even just pick your spots to do it, and the spot isn't all the fucking time. Used as an out of character thing to wake people up is fine, like Reid getting red faced, but right now that IS Daboll character. The image of Daboll stuck in my mind is how he basically publicly humiliated Jones (I think, maybe Geno) on the sideline as he was coming off the field, showing him the tablet or whatever with a look of contempt and disgust.
  10. So I am watching the Pac 12 championship, wanted to see my man Bo Nix audition for the Giants, and holy shit after like 6 passes I am in love with Penix. This dude just has it. Very live arm, strong, exceptionally accurate throws. Quick, confident decisions with the ball on the money on some tricky throws. This dude looks amazing.
  11. I do not consume a great deal of traditional sports media. A little espn TV, check espn website often, etc. I do listen to a Giants podcasts, Talkin Giants I think, those guys said if Jay Glazer said it, it is absolutely true. The shine is wearing on Daboll for me. Not just how bad this season is going, but how he makes himself look like an ass on TV too often, that "fired up all the time" thing. Reports he isn't everyone's favorite person to work with and be around. You just don't need that always yelling style coach anymore. Modern players want to be treated like grown men and they want someone who isn't combustible. Getting fired up and lifting guys is one thing, dressing down the QB, assistant coaches, all kinds of other players on the sidelines is just demeaning and makes him come off as someone always looking to blame someone, not a coach looking for accountability. Successful franchises today are dependable to and accountable to their players and team, are positive influences. They can even be fired up, like Dan Campbell, but his players would run through a wall for him, based on appearances. Daboll just always appear to be dressing someone down and shifting blame, at least that is the appearance to me as a fan.
  12. i felt it was critical to remind everyone of my mock drafting prowess and football intellect for knowing Tommy D would be the next Tommy B.
  13. Odds he reunites with Daboll and Shoen?
  14. And I’d say go watch those playoffs again. Maybe the d gets the glory in the Super Bowl, but Eli was the best player on the field during the entire playoff run.
  15. Go ahead and put me in the Nix camp for now.
  16. Weird situation for Jones and the Giants. If you assume we're in the market for a top of the draft QB, and since Jones contract pretty much ensures he will be on teh team next season, it creates a weird situation. Sure, from the Giants perspective it is a good theoretical situation of having a rookie sit behind a competent qb for a season instead of being thrown to the fire. But do you do that to Jones? One injury filled year behind a terrible offensive line and no weapons when the world pretty much agrees we did not set him up to succeed, after signing the big contract to be the qb of the future. I guess you can look at it as an opportunity to interview for the rest of the league, but that is a pretty shitty situation to put him in.
  17. He was trying to run from a sack and tripped over Cager. I didn't see a replay of what happened to his leg yet. Feel bad for the guy.
  18. Good trade. No chance jones get dealt. If nothing else he will take the pounding next year while the draft pick sits.
  19. I was going to come here to say I do not see how you replace Taylor for Jones at this point. Other than the financial commitment. Not that TT is going to be the starter of the future, but he gives you the best chance to win games this year and also gives you an opportunity to evaluate the talent you have on offense.
  20. McLaurin could be a dominant WR on a real team
  21. Yeah I feel like a pos now. I do feel for him. Me wife has struggled with a neck injury for years. Never really goes away. Of course I wish him a full recovery.
  22. And the Tommy Devito era of greatness begins
