I agree. To actually go against an opponents weakness is not something the braintrust can handle. -

Look that fuck is 10 yards behind the receiver and he still misses the fucking interception. The only pass defenses are when those scrubs drop passes. -

Webster....10 yards off again. Why not play 10 against 11. And just sit his ass down. -

Yeah that is true; and the DB's are playing these guys 1 to 2 yards beyond the first down markers. -

Its going to be a long night. DB's act like they are going against Rice, Moss, and Lynn Swan. Jesus Christ! -
Yeah I agree...if it is the difference between one or too deep balls exposing our weak DB's if we blitz; or sitting back and letting them nickel and dime us to death...I will take the blitz and one or two deep balls. Just ask the Mets...wouldn't everyone rather have seen a half-assed swing rather than being called out on strikes on a curveball with the bases loaded? Always play to your strength and even now with a depleted D-line the Giants strength is rushing the passer.

Gorilla we must be twins that were separated at birth....or we did the same girls or something, because you took the words right out of my mouth.

If they are just able to stop the run, I will be happy. No asshole roughing the passer penalties today Joe...we cannot afford a couple of free first downs.

How To Call A Game 101
TaylorBanksCarsonVanPelt replied to TaylorBanksCarsonVanPelt's topic in New York Giants
Exactly...what the Giants organization did to him in 93' still sticks in my craw...basically forcing him to retire so that Young's pet project...ol' useless, blame everyone but me Dave "Numb Nuts" Brown. Even though Reeves was the one to tell him it was over, I do not think it was his call, as evidenced by his lack of enthusiasm for Numb Nuts for the latter 2 years of the 3 year experiment of "Can Dave Brown be the Man". It should have been "Is Dave Brown a Man?". -
Those rigid ass mothers can crack walnuts with their ass cheeks...no way will they be able to adjust for this kid's benefit.

How To Call A Game 101
TaylorBanksCarsonVanPelt replied to TaylorBanksCarsonVanPelt's topic in New York Giants
What about the game they had against the Bears in 91' and he gets sacked by Singletary and Dent....Singletary gets up and walks back to the huddle; whereas Dent wants to do a little hotdogging in Simms' face. Well Mr. Dent was shocked when Simms did not duck his head like a beat down quarterback (Theisman, Jaworski anyone) and he gives Dent the finger and screams out at him "FUCK YOU". It was fucking priceless to see the clueless look on his face. I just sacked this guy and he still is not afraid of me...oh shit. -
How To Call A Game 101
TaylorBanksCarsonVanPelt replied to TaylorBanksCarsonVanPelt's topic in New York Giants
Oh fuck yeah....Simms could take a hit a lot better than Montana...was more accurate in my opinion...and had a stronger arm. In fact I was never a member of the Montana Love Fest that was the NFL of the 80's and early 90's. He was a slightly above average quarterback who was in the right system.... with consistently good drafts....two head coaches who understood offense (Walsh and Siefert)...and believe or not a front office with a man who was rightfully chased out of NY John McVay who kept the Niner cookie jar filled with top knotch drafts and free agents. So yes if Simms had all of that, he would be an All-Time level quarterback. Montana is such a selfish cocksucker that he is not even connected to the game in a meaningful way. Kind of shows you how grateful he is to the industry that spawned and nurtured his personality cult. -
But according to that great broadcast journalist...Troy "the Cowgirls are the Greatest Ever", you are looking at the 85' Bears redux. Its pathetic. The Bears are a good opportunistic team....but Great...not in my football universe. Anyway am watching the Colts - Cowgirls in Dallas; and Phil Simms is calling the game. A genuinely good broadcast with even handed announcing. Too bad Simms is CBS and not Fox....we would have the benefit of his good sports journalism. He is not a homer ... and when he gives insight into the Prostitute's (Parcells) mindset it is a an analyst and not as a disciple or shill. Truly impressive.
-
What he has to say is relevant to the game. He is not a homer...especially when he gives insight into the Prostitute's (e.g. Bill Parcells) line of thinking and tendencies. Now compare him to that Cowgirl shill Troy Aikman...it is a totally different ball game. Also he is smooth sailing as compared to choppy and forced that a lot of these athletes turned announcers. I would love to have him as a quarterback coach, or at least a consultant with the Giants. I remember during one of his later pre-season games in 91' or 92' giving all assembled including the TV audience a clinic on how to throw the ball in Giants stadium. You also heard some of the resentment that he had against someone like Montana who never would had the career that he had in Frisco. Just imagine Simms in a west coast offense. He would be a shoo in for the Hall of Fame.
-
AMEN! The progression of a young quarterback is not something for the faint of heart....or bandwagon jumpers. It takes as long as it takes...some catch lightning in a bottle....some take 3-4 years. We will see.

TaylorBanksCarsonVanPelt replied to NeMesiS's topic in New York Giants
I wish we had him....but you are definitely correct about Luke "The Human False Start" Pettigout. Just thinking about the games he has cost us in the past, just numbs the mind. Also, you ever notice that the Giants can never attempt to draw the other team off sides. Even knowing the snap count you know Luke would be the one hit with the false start penalty....it is these kind of intangibles that win and/or lose ball games. But again he is better than the reclamation project they put there to replace him.
