  1. Easy J, the guy is going into his second season. Maybe next season he's ready to start.
  2. Nothing wrong with this pick at all. Good solid receiver. Guys who played second fiddle at USC these last few years have been good players and played in a pro style offense. We needed a wideout and we got him.
  3. Nas, please, the guy has issues on the mental side. i've always said he had the tools to play QB. I'm not stupid enough to think that gesturing is a sign of toughness. Otherwise randy Moss is the toughest SOB in the planet.
  4. I just hope we didn't get another Chase Blackburn. On top of that he's a long snapper which maybe make you wonder if resigning Ryan Kuehl was smart. I hate it when we have guys that specialize for one play, if you have a guy that can cover 2 areas it free's up roster spots. By the way, I don't mind Chase Blackburn, as long as he doesnt' start.
  5. For those who say Eli is tough.....yes he is, Physically. Mentally, he's got some work to do. No-one in the right mind can deny that.
  6. The "spagster"?????? Dude, you love those nicknames don't you.
  7. Only joking. Zak DeOssie in the 4th round. Finally a linebacker.....Sheesh!!
  8. Nem's only interested in guys with Frank Walker qualities.
  9. I think we trade down and get Timmons. If we stay put, we take a flyer on Beason.
  10. This is so overblown. When you look at you is the one most responsible for breakdowns in the passing game, it is Eli and not Plax and Shockey. I agree somewhat with the initial thought here, Eli could make an effort and go down there to work out with them. Think about the condition that Shockey and Plaxico are in coming to camp every year, the rest of their teamates have made comments that these 2 guys are in amazing shape coming into "camp" ( not voluntary mini camp mind you). Once again, Eli is right and is the good guy, Shockey and Plax are the bad guys. But if it wasn't for those 2 I guarentee you Eli's Stats and performance would be a lot worse. This organization has to face reality, it's Eli who should be the main concern and his improvement.
  11. He's worth a second day draft at least. It's a great move for the Rams, there's so little to lose here.
  12. No, I'm not ashamed of it at all. I was a much bigger sports fanatic 10 years ago than I am now. I've gone to my share of Jets games and I think that's part of the reason why I don't have time for them anymore, because their fans are just the bottom of the barrel IMO. Sure, they have some decent fans, but if you ever needed to pick 10 assholes for any reason, a Jets game is a good place to do it. Plus that franchise is cursed and just can't be taken seriously at all. I tell you , every 3 years they hit rock bottom and eventually all their draft picks leave them, they just have no respect at all. I used to be a huge Knicks fans until the Dolans, and I don't have much time for the Rangers either. All the other teams I root for, plus the Jersey teams. Al Toon was a great wide receiver, I really feel bad for the guy.
  13. Sorry, already taken!! Donte Hall to the Rams for a 5th rounder!! A fifth rounder.........fuck I'd have given them a 3rd for him.
  14. I don't think he was acitvated until week 3-4 Fish to begin with. Still, if they did resign him, what's the harm, he costs little and he plays hard when he does play. Plus he's only a backup.
  15. Back then, I kinda followed the Jets a little. They had some good players. Freeman McNeil was as honest a running back you could get and Mickey Shuler was a tough bastard of a tight end, Wesley Walker and the helicopter catch. But I had a lot of time for Al Toon, he was a good wide receiver and his name was the best. It's too bad the guy is still suffering from concussions. That said, I have absolutely zero time for the Jets anymore, I don't watch their games at all. They can leave town for all I care.
  16. I know TBC, but you can't let the Jets hang around in that game knowing what was at stake. The extra wild card was in limbo for years because the Networks were pushing for it. The Giants not making the playoffs was a very small part of it. I wasn't comparing them to last year's team. Last year's team got in because the NFC in general sucked.
  17. He did. But then again, you get in on your own merit, not because everyone else sucks worse than you. Like last years playofss.
  18. Perhaps Nas, but both of those guys right now would be the 3rd/4th best linebacker on our team if they were here. I still say Wilson will be a Giant with an incentive based contract.
  19. It was a gamble last season and it worked out. He doesn't make much money and when it comes to linebackers, we need depth. Doesn't make a lot of sense to me, Short wants to play for us.
  20. Strangely enough, the Loss in Superbowl 35 was not what I'd consider a low point. We overachieved all year long. Fassel made his prediction, it came through and the team rallied behind it. Our Superbowl that year was whipping the Vikes, who were supposed to beat us. In the Superbowl, we were one bullshit defensive holding call on Keith Hamilton from that game taking a 180 degree turn in our favor, but we can't complain because no-one could withstand that Raven defense defense that season. Overall the season itself overshadowed the superbowl loss.
  21. Another friggin Eli for ya! :brooding:
  22. To Joe Walton, that was the Superbowl. I agree with you, that season just had a bad feeling to it all year. That was the year we were supposed to put it all back together after the 87 strike year.
  23. I know you love him Nas, but what you base it off of confuses me. fact is I have to question the disclipine of a guy coming into camp weighing 280 pounds like he does for a position that means you have to have some mobility. He wouldn't go to NFL europe to play either. I don't understand the fascination behind him at all, but then again..............Frank Walker.
  24. Since 1984. Best: winning superbowl 21. Second half ass whupping baby!! Worst: Quite a few, but losing to the Jets at home when Al toon caught the ball in the endzone, sucked royally. If I remember correctly, if he doesn't catch it I believe we win the division, but when he did catch, not only did we not win the division but we didn't even make the playoffs. Parcells had that "what the fuck?", look when it happened. Plus we lost to the Jets at home. The Flipper Anderson catch against the Rams at home sucked pretty bad too.
