  1. Broncos would be stupid to take anything less than a 3rd rounder for Wilson, and they are still going to want a player like Tuck, they just released Courtney Brown so they are going to need help in that position, and Tuck is cheap. If the Giants can maneuver to get Bly also, I'm for it, he's better than all 3 corners we have now. Too bad we still don't have the best cornerback in Giants history in Frank Walker to make a trade!!! That said, just don't give up a 1st whatever you do. And they still need to draft a linebacker in the 1st....IMO. By the way, if we get Wilson, word is he moves to the weakside.
  2. having shitty players has nothing to do with it. The Giants have had shitty players before that ate up all the salary cap. Anyway, raising prices for tickets has become a side revenue. The NFL relies for the most part on TV money.
  3. If Chase Blackburn starts for the Giants, then we've really hit the wall. IMO he's nothing more than a backup LB, who plays well on special teams. It's like people here talking about Nick Greisen being a starter a few years ago. He wasn't good enough either, if he was we would have kept him and Blackburn is not better than Greisen. Blackburn brings energy off the bench and that's the way it should stay.
  4. According to NFL.com, former Eagles LB Keith Adams worked out for us this week. Maybe the idea will be to sign a bunch of backup linebackers in the hopes that one of them catches fire like Short did last year. Hopefully not though.
  5. I'm not a homo like 420, but I saw Joe Morris at a job fair one time, and it was like looking at the human form of a sherman tank. I could have done hula hoop in his superbowl ring.
  6. Right, we had to go to Philly to do it though. And if there was ever a season where it was so disatisfying to make the playoffs, this was the one. It was by no means a successful season.
  7. Forget 2008. We have free agents on the team for next that might just say fuck this, we're outta here. We might have free agents available to be picked up that might say, fuck the Giants we're not going there. Arizona has more cap room than nearly anyone, yet they could park a brinks truck outside all the top free agents homes, and they still wouldn't sign with them. Something similar could happen here. Strahan could retire, so could Toomer. Burress could very well be a candidate for release next year. There are too many variables to say 2008 could be better than 2007, it very well could be a whole lot worse. This team needs to pull in some backup help, and draft strong, and we'll be in the running. If Eli plays anywhere near his potential, we're a good team. If you look at the NFC east, seriously how much better than us did the Skins/Boys/birds get. Fuck all better, and each of them have major concerns going into the season as we do. The division is up for grabs and it's the division we need first off. As I said before, no team does 2-3 year rebuilding projects anymore, free agency took care of that. New Orleans sucked in 2005, forget the hurricane, they were a bad team. The Jets were supposed to be shit also. We gotta play for now, and if....if we can stay somewhat healthy, we're good enough to win now.
  8. C'mon Storm. We made the playoffs last year because the rest of the NFC sucked worse than we did. Let's not equate 8-8 with 11-5.
  9. I don't have season tickets. Actually when I go it's because I get them for free or off craigslist or something for below face. The only point I was trying to make was that I think it's bogus to raise prices when the product has been poor. Most people don't like price hikes when service has been shitty all along. The comment about the Giants being in the top market so they should we should pay top dollar doesn't wash either. I know the Mets didn't raise ticket prices for years due to the team playing poorly, nor did the Rangers or Knicks. The Isles actually reduced many of their prices because the team sucked. That's the point I was trying to make and I think it's pretty valid.
  10. VG, I've liked Timmons from FSU, but a lot of people think he's fallen off. Poluzny would be a nice pickup but he could be gone off the board. There's not a truckload of linebackers projected for the first round but I think those 2 would be the most prominent.
  11. We didn't get him yet. These are the Texans we're talking about. They just broke the bank for Ahman Green, so it's possible they'll give this guy a 5 year deal for 50 mil.
  12. I feel the best free agent signing this year will be if our quarterback improves his play overall and becomes half the leader his brother is. I feel the org is leaning towards Diehl at LT right now. We can still get backup help in free agency and in June, plus please draft a linebacker in the first round. If you look in our division, there hasn't been much change in free agency. DC did nothing of note. Eagles might have gotten worse actually, and Dallas picked up a possible dud in Leonard Davis and also lost a coach and replaced him with a retread.
  13. That's a lot of money for a fullback, especially one coming from a team like the texans and like Lughead said, we've hardly heard of him, he attracted no interest in free agency. Plus, it's kinda funny how he's been talked about as a big full back at 250, yet Jacobs as the feature back has 15 pounds on him. Hopefully Reese knows what he's doing here.
  14. I have an Eli road jersey replica at home for sale. Size 52, brand new. But I want $20 plus $4 to ship. I was going to list it on ebay also. I own the home jersey.
  15. Storm's an acquired taste, but in all he's a good guy.
  16. Storm, shut the fuck up and shit me a $10 bill will ya?. Make yourself useful.
  17. I guess I need to keep my old fart of a father away from Giants games in the future. He's 69. He doesn't like to stand up every few minutes because he's got 2 artificial hips and artritis in his knees. He does like going to games, but we'll have to put a stop to that, because the youngsters can't enjoy themselves. By the way, I'm 37, and if you're sitting in front of me at a game and you feel the need to stand up every fucking 10 seconds because that's what all the "boys" do, then that's probably me yelling at you to sit down. I stand when the play is important, other than that I can applaud and holler while sitting.
  18. Storm, I need you to shit about $20 for me. I want to get Borat on DVD!.
  19. Not too many 70 year olds going to these games nowadays. The tix are passed down through the family. The point I'm trying to make is the principal of the thing. It's like if they raised the price of the subway trip, well that would be a slap in the face to your average New yorker seeing as the subways right now are total shit.
  20. Well there's another question. Why raise the ticket prices? You're clearly not suing it on the team. How much cap room do we have right now? Quite a bit.
  21. Most teams don't raise prices unless they have a winning season. Giants have raised prices the last 4 years in a row. Only one of those was over 500. Most of the season ticket holders have been there for decades. That's who I'm talking about. It is a slap in the face.
