  1. Let's hope that he can get our defense to play above their talent level like he did with the Eagles LBs.
  2. I'd prefer Samuel, but i think the 10 picks he had this year will make his price go up.
  3. Hey, I'm hoping that he'll be around for a while, so let's make him comfortable.
  4. Link NEW YORK -- Outfielder Endy Chavez, whose spectacular catch in Game 7 of the NL Championship Series saved a two-run homer, agreed Tuesday with the New York Mets on a one-year contract worth $1,725,000. Chavez leaped at the left-field wall to snare Scott Rolen's sixth-inning drive off Oliver Perez with a runner on, keeping the score tied at 1. Yadier Molina hit a two-run homer in the ninth, helping St. Louis win 3-1. The Cardinals went on to win their first World Series title since 1982. Chavez, who turns 29 next month, batted .306 with four homers and 42 RBIs in his first season with the Mets. Because of injuries to Cliff Floyd, Chavez had 353 at-bats. Last year, Chavez made $700,000. In addition to his base salary this year, he could earn $100,000 in performance bonuses: $12,500 each for 120 and 130 games, and $25,000 each for 400, 450 and 500 plate appearances. 5. Oh no, I don't mean that he needs the ball all the time. I meant that we sit there and ignore him in the first half and then when we're down by 30 all of the sudden we try to get him involved.
  6. I read Ginn's scouting profile (can't remember the site it was on) and it basically said that his hands aren't all that great, but his speed makes him a great project receiver. When I read that I immediately thought of Tim Carter.
  7. Aikman and Buck are also the ones that are calling for Eli to "show some fire" when things are going wrong and to be "as cool as ever" when things are great. They're just like the rest of the media. Like I said before, (in Shockey's case) the emotion showed when our team is winning is seen as fire, but when we're losing, it's detrimental. I'm sure that if we had won the playoff game that Aikman and Buck would've had to acknowledge the fact that Shockey was on the sidelines with Eli every time that they walked off of the field trying to motivate him.
  8. Leading receiver, yes, however most of his catches were in the second half when we were already down and needed to make a comeback. How many times do we have to hear about how the Giants HAVE to get Shockey involved in the game earlier than they do? How many times must we say that the Giants have to get Shockey involved earlier than they do? During one of the last games of the regular season one of the announcers eluded to the fact that out of all the games that Shockey played, he averaged about 1 catch per first half. That's flat out retarded. And no, I wouldn't say the same thing about Plax, cause getting Shockey involved earlier would open Plax up. I have never seen a Giants offense with as many weapons as they have, so why the fuck are we mediocre? Cause we haven't been using any of them correctly.
  9. You (Meaning all Giants fans, not just you) love it when Shockey goes over the middle, catches a pass, gets plastered and then gets up and throws his arms up in celebration. Great, he's showing emotion, fire and a desire to win. Then Shockey gets pissed that he's not involved in the offense when his QB is obviously struggling and he knows that he can help him and throws his arms up in the air out of frustation. Now all of the sudden, Shockey's emotion, fire and desire to win become an attitude that's detrimental to the team. You (once again Giants fans and now including the Sports media) pull the same shit with Eli Manning. When Eli is winning, the non-emotion is a sign of confidence. When Eli is losing, the non-emotion is a lost... "Deer in the headlights" look and he needs to show some fire. Now on to the money comment. Athletes are not machines. They get happy. They get frustrated. They are human. Regardless of how much money they make, they are still human, and Shockey, as you know, wears his emotions on his sleeve. I haven't heard Shockey, or Burress for that matter, come out and say, "Eli needs to get me the ball, or else we won't win." You're right, they should go to the sideline and fix the problem, but if they throw they're arms up in frustration, it's not the end of the world. And if you watched Shockey during the playoff game, he was on the sidelines talking to Eli just about every time they came off of the field. Nemesis eluded to the fact that some of the best receivers in history pulled the same shit, but it's not just them. There are very few class acts that play receiver. Randoff replied by basically saying that no one has a right to bitch and moan until they have a Super Bowl ring. I know that this is another topic but I am truly sick of people using rings in player to player comparisons. Tell me is Trent Dilfer a better QB than Dan Marino? Better yet, is Ben Roethlisberger better than Peyton Manning? Teams win rings, not players. That's the end of my rant. :brooding:
  10. I don't think so, but that's probably because Shockey was actually thrown to in the first half, unlike these past two years. That's not to say that Plax isn't rubbing off on him, but Shock is a playmaker and he wants the ball ALL the time. It's hard to go half a game without being involved at all and not get frustrated.
  11. I think that there'll be a riot if Randolph isn't the manager in 2008.
  12. Wait... didn't Strahan's doctor say that he didn't NEED surgery?
  13. Tiki - explanation not needed Luke P. - Line production dropped after his injury Burress - only because he was the most productive. Can't Argue with 12 TDs (2 Postseason)
  14. :bye: :worshippy: We'll never forget what you've done for this team.
  15. So we take Brandon Jscobs off of the field for what reason?
  16. We now have an OC that remembers that Tiki is on the team. That alone improves our chances of winning by about 150%. Now if we can get a good mix of Tiki, Jacobs, and a short passing game and control the flow of the game we have a good shot at coming out on top. I don't want to have to deal with knowing that the Eagles ended our season. This is it. The Steelers sent Bettis out on top last year, and no matter how improbable our chances are, we should send Tiki out on top as well.
  17. It's not the bracket... it's just the NFL Playoffs that don't make any sense.
  18. So Tiki breaks the Giants single game rushing record, again, in his final regular season game. :worshippy:
  19. And people ask me why Tiki is my favorite player ever. What a game. Thank you Tiki.
