  1. Confirmed by Scott Poston (his agent) on ESPN. Injuries aren't life threatening, but are pretty bad. No link yet.

    Glavine

I fully expect that he'll be fine, but I'm starting to think that there's something physically wrong with him and he's not telling anyone.

Can someone please explain what the hell is going on with him? I know he's not an overpowering pitcher, but why the hell has he been getting hit so hard these past two starts?
  4. Likewise he needs to stop being a whiny, overpaid, "Do as I say and not as I do" excuse for a head coach. How can you tell someone to shut up and play and then blab to the media about it? How can you say that team issues need to be kept in house and fingers shouldn't be pointed and then call your QB out after a loss that your retarded OC and defense caused? Yes the players need to shut up, cause I'm sick of the soap opera... but our head coach needs to lead by example.
  5. Too bad that game isn't at home. I'd like to see the record broken in Giants Stadium, but I guess destroying Romo in Dallas isn't a bad thing.
  6. Funny thing... I heard an ESPN analyst say that Coughlin had the biggest mouth and needed to shut up and lead by example. Rare time when an analyst is right on the money.
  7. I get it... but I don't live in NYC. I'm in East Orange, NJ. If you get Comcast in your area, they have the NFL Network.
  8. Defensive Holding on Keith Hamilton that never happened. Hamilton reached out for the RB (I think that it was Priest Holmes) and completely missed him, but the refs threw the flag anyway. Anyway. Armstead was the man and I'm glad to see him retire in Giants Blue.
  9. These guys are starting to piss me off.
  10. Things going for Eli: 1. Good pedigree 2. Good if not great receivers (Burress, Shockey, Toomer, and Barber) 3. Tiki Barber (In my opinion) was the greatest RB in Giants history and an excellent fallback option when Eli was struggling. 4. Ability to work great in hurry-up offense (he calls his own plays here) Things going against Eli: 1. Coaching... Coughlin, Hufnagle, and even though he didn't directly effect Eli, Lewis. None of them helped the situation. Coughlin and Hufnagle's nack for sticking to things that don't work and going away from things that do (Jacobs in the Titans game) set the team up for failure. Lewis in his Read and Give Up The Middle Of The Field defense was terrible and had almost everything to do with why our defense couldn't hold a lead or stop an opponent in a big spot... i.e. after a comeback drive by Eli and the offense. It also doesn't help when your coach says that issues need to be kept in house and then throws his QB under the bus after a loss (Titans game). Lead by example, dumbass. 2. Those Good if not great receivers all had issues this past year. Burress (Hurt and having brain farts during games), Toomer (Out for season in the middle of WK 8), Shockey (Hurt ALL SEASON), Barber (Retiring and fighting with the coaching staff ALL SEASON) 3. Tiki Barber, like most of our offensive weapons, wasn't used correctly. Look back to the Jags game and find Tiki's stat line. He had 10 carries and if I remember correctly 13 total touches! WTF is that about!? And if Tiki wasn't having success on the ground in the game, you still have a bigger, stronger, and (amazingly) faster RB in Jacobs. No sense whatsoever to abandon the running game there. Another time was the Colts game. Easy to get caught up in the Manning vs. Manning hype, but you're there to win. Tiki Barber and Brandon Jacobs showed the rest of the league that the Colts couldn't stop the run. Unfortunately, our coaching staff didn't get the message until after the game was already over. 4. Injuries. What the hell? Our injury list was like the entire fuckin roster. Starting LT, WRs, TE, DEs, LBs, RB (Tiki had a broken finger I think), Not to mention that Justin Tuck and Sinorice Moss were out for more than half the season. Amazingly, Tim Carter was the only one to stay healthy, but he didn't take advantage of his opportunities. Phillip Rivers is a good QB, but could he handle all this crap along with insanely high expectation and the NY media? I seriously doubt it. Could you imagine the Chargers coaching staff only giving Tomlinson 13 touches in a game? Could you imagine his defense letting opponents have 20 yard cushions and the entire middle of the field? Also Rivers has the exact same amount of playoff wins that Eli has... 0. Don't get me started on that clown on the Steelers.
  11. Maybe I misheard him yesterday, (I was only half listening cause I was at work and the store was busy), but I thought that Gary Cohen said that Alou was coming back today.
  12. 1. If I remember correctly, The Giants were in the playoffs last season. That means that being ranked 30th out of 32 teams is bullshit. 2. 50 TDs in 2 1/2 seasons and you're ranked 22nd? Not sure about that. Yeah Eli hasn't lived up to his expections (Being Peyton and Archie combined), but he hasn't performed worse than some of the QBs that are ranked ahead of him on that list. He also hasn't had the benefit of a defense that was able to hold a lead (See Giants @ Titans 2006) or stop an opponent after a comeback (See Cowboys @ Giants 2006 and Giants @ Eagles Playoffs 2006). More Bullshit 3. Not fun to watch? WTF? Watch Broncos @ Giants 2005, Giants @ Eagles 2006, Rams @ Giants 2005, Giants @ Cowboys 2006... He's not exciting? Rasheed Wallace is on that list and even though I can't stand the Detroit Pistons, the man is exciting to watch. That list is bullshit too. What's your point here? Experts are wrong in most instances. Experts said that the Phoenix Suns and the Dallas Mavericks would be the actual NBA Championship. Experts jumped on Tony Romo's bandwagon when things were going well and then made every excuse possible for him when teams figured him out and made him look like shit. Experts praise Eli Manning's poise and composure when things are going well and then want him to show fire when things aren't. Experts are Retarded.
  13. I think that it starts mid-late July, but I don't know the exact date.
  14. There's no denying that. As far as the trade for Kidd goes, the Lakers FO didn't want to give up Andrew Bynum. That's why the deal never went through. As far as KG goes, there never was a deal in place, but there had always been speculation about a trade possibility.
  15. I saw that too, Randoff. I honestly think that he wants to stay in LA but if they don't make things better he knows that he needs to leave in order to become a champion again. Kobe can't win with the team the way it is. Nothing against guys like Lamar Odom cause he brings it, but he can't stay on the floor! Kobe deserves better than what he's been given.
  16. Kobe quoted Jerry Buss saying, "I'm not going to pay Shaq $30 Million next year or $80 Million over three years. No way in Hell." There's more to the quote, but I can't remember the rest. My issue isn't with what they weren't going to pay Shaq, it's how they set up Kobe to take the fall for Shaq being traded. It was really fucked up. Kobe basically didn't say anything because he wasn't sure if he wanted to come back to the Lakers at that time and if he was going to remain a Laker and not sign with the Clippers, he didn't want to have an issue with mgmt. so he kept his mouth shut. Recently they were reluctant to make moves like signing Baron Davis, making a trade for Jason Kidd, or even getting some type of trade for Kevin Garnett which had been speculated for years. They've done nothing but ruin the team and sour the attitude of their best player. Do I want to see Kobe on another team? Hell no! I'm a Bulls/Lakers fan (They were the first two teams I ever saw play and I couldn't decide who to root for so I became a fan of both). Kobe is one of my favorite players. Even with the hypothetical trade to the Bulls I'd still say no. However, does Kobe deserve better than what the Lakers are giving him? Hell yeah.
  17. I heard him on Stephen A. Smith's radio show on ESPN saying that there was nothng that LA could do to change his mind. He said that he feels betrayed by the organization for saying to him that they were going to rebuild immediately and have the Lakers back in the championship picture. He also said that he was not the one that forced the Shaq trade. Jerry Buss was the cause of Shaq being traded and he was also the one that made it seem like it was caused by Kobe. Stephen A. Smith read Kobe's quote to Shaq and Shaq said that he and Kobe didn't always see eye to eye, but he definately believes him in this instance. It's really fucked up to have a FO pull this kind of shit. I mean this is just me roughly explaining the situation. It goes a lot deeper as far as Mitch Kupchick (spelling?) saying to the media that if he had to make a decision between Shaq or Kobe that he'd pick Kobe, and Buss saying that there was no chance that he'd pay Shaq anywhere near the type of money that he wanted regardless of the situation, makes me really lose respect for the Lakers organization.
  18. Delgado with his second HR of the game!!!! :worshippy:
  19. Fuckin hell. Glavine needs to beat the Braves!
  20. Alright... this isn't just about one MVP award. I'm talking about every MVP award in team sports. Ever since Dirk Nowitzki won the NBA's MVP award, I've been wondering if MVP actually meant Most Valuable Player. Actually I've been wondering about this for a while, but I'm just now deciding to talk about it. It's an interesting question. I've been hearing multiple definitions for what MVP means. In some cases, sports analysts will say that the award should go to the best player on the best team (Dirk Nowitzki this season), however if that's the case how can Major League Baseball justify giving the award to Ryan Howard last season? The Phillies were nowhere near the playoffs, and if the previous definition (Best player on the Best team) is true then why wasn't the award given to someone from the Mets, Dodgers, Cardinals, or Padres? I'm not saying anythng against Ryan Howard, because he had an amazing season, but isn't that contradictive? In the NFL, there's no question that LDT deserved the MVP this year. No one had the type of impact that he had, but what about the previous season? Shaun Alexander had an amazing season (winning the rushing title, as well as setting the record for TDs in a single season), but was he more valuable to the Seahawks than Tiki Barber was to the Giants? Granted there is bias in my bringing Barber up in this discussion, but Tiki Barber set the Giants single season rushing record and single-handedly carried the Giants to the NFC East Championship when Eli Manning was struggling. Other teams knew that he was coming and yet they still could not stop him. The question, once again, is What does MVP mean? Is it given to the player with the best stats on the season? Is it given to the best player on the best team? Or is it given to the person that is by far the Most Valuable Player to their respective team? I want to know.

    New Family

I wanted to try out the new blog feature and couldn't decide what topic talk about first so I'm using my first blog to give a shout out to my three cousins that are expecting to become parents. I'll use nicknames out of respect to their privacy. Ice (an older male cousin) and his wife are going to have their second child while Star (older female cousin) and Juggernaut (younger male cousin) are each going to have their first. I am close with all three cousins as well as Ice's wife and Juggernaut's girlfriend, so you can imagine how I'm feeling. I know that I may need to give Juggernaut some advice and he knows that I'm going to give it whenever I can. All of them have all of my support and I am proud of them as well.
  22. My Bulls lost to our rivals the Detroit Pistons in game six of the second round of the Eastern Conference Playoffs. Normally I'd be pretty pissed off about my team getting eliminated from the playoffs, and I am, but this time is a little different. We went down three games to none and looked completely outmatched against the more experienced and battle-tested Pistons, but we fought back and almost took the series to game seven. Unfortunately it was not to be. After the game the crowd at the United Center gave the Bulls a well deserved standing ovation and I was right along with them. You guys gave me some great times this season, and I'm looking forward to many more. Gordon, Hinrich, Deng, Duhon, Sefolosha, Wallace, Thomas, Nocioni, Brown, Griffin, Barrett, Sweetney, Khryapa, and Andriuskevicius... I'm proud of you all. Time to look forward to what will be an eventful offseason. Let's Go Bulls!!!!!!!! :worshippy:
