I never agreed with the coaching staff's assessment of Wilson. Sure, he has special talent in space, but an NFL running back can't make a living on student body right style sweeps and pitch plays. When he was asked to take it between the tackles, and it was specifically a point of emphasis (see his first preseason for the best examples), I saw a man who runs with power behind his pads and had no trouble getting leverage and taking guys for a ride. I don't understand why they went away from it - he needed to keep getting those grinding reps.

I think the game would get safer if they would switch back to more old fashioned helmets - these things today can be used as a weapon. Not necessarily leather, just switch to a soft-shell helmet.

True, but what are the odds there's only a little regression? Seemed like every time I flipped over to an Eagles game, Foles was putting the ball in the defenders hands. Its tough to get a handle on them. I have a hard time seeing that offense catching teams off guard again, but Foles will be a year better - even if his statistics don't reflect it.

well, it always comes down to injuries, thats just the NFL these days... Giants were a weak 7-9 last season, but they were also banged up to all hell, so who really knows what they have to offer. I honestly don't know if they're headed towards total rebuild or contention. No idea. New England wins those weak divisions going away and has been doing it a long time. When Philadelphia is routinely deep in the playoffs after 13-3ish seasons, then lets crown their asses. I've come around to what Chip Kelly is doing over there, but I'm not hyperventilating about competition that was weak division 10-6.

well, they aren't #1 receivers by any stretch of imagination, but Randle and Manningham can both stretch the field.

um... that would mean he has a questionable work ethic. Thats what a work ethic is, doing your job to the best of your abilities, even when you don't want to do it.

I think you guys are overestimating Cordle. Seemed to me there was a huge drop off from a nominally healthy Baas to a fresh Cordle.

LOL.... i.e., every notable white player in the NFL for the last 20 years. All fifteen or so of them. And he's also well-spoken and a good teammate. But obviously not scrappy nor brings his lunch pail to work.

Can't complain about that deal. Good teams are built with guys like him on the fringe of the roster. And who knows, maybe he's still getting some quicks back from from his illness years ago.
