  1. Daniel Jones totally scammed the Giants into a $160M contract
  2. Fair enough. Looking ahead: By my count, with $40M in cap space this off-season and 3 draft picks in the top 50-55, that's enough for 6-7 key moves. Take one of the top QBs with the first round draft pick, then use the other 5-6 assets on OL and DL.
  3. Giants won me $70 bucks today. Yeah they might have ruined DJ's career, but I'll have a few sushi days the next couple weeks now. At least he produced something...for me.
  4. Daboll and co are giving McAdoo a run for the money in trying to coach your way out of a job via mishandling the QB situation. Meanwhile, today has strong 2017 vibes of that game vs the hapless 49ers where CJ Beathard and the horrible niners clowned us.
  5. I took the under 37.5 on today's game, and the Raiders at -1.5. I wish there was an over under on when DJ gets knocked out of the game: 2nd quarter I'd bet.
  6. Soooo get ready for Tommy Devito again, and 29 runs in the 2nd half.
  7. Because the OL sucked in both instances, and in the case of the Jets, that QB was in the game because the previous one got hurt running for his life, after the QB before him in a prior game got crushed because of an incompetent OL.
  8. I'm speaking about the two specific games where we averaged less than 10 pts.
  9. If the O line was competent, you're not in a position where one decision or FG makes it breaks the game.
  10. A competent OL gets you the wins vs the Bills and Jets, plus makes you competitive and likely to win vs the Raiders, plus in general means your scoring more points in general. A competent OL means you're looking at possibly 7-5 or 6-6 heading into the bye. Not great, but not terrible. 3 of the next 4 games really SHOULD be wins if the team just had an OL. Barkley is averaging 3.7 yards per carry. That's not anything special. That can be easily replaced. At best they're an 8-10 win team with a competent OL. Without one, and with one this putrid OL well maybe 4-6 is what we're looking at.
  11. We wouldn't have the worst scoring team offense in 57 years if we had 3 or 4 functional offensive lineman going into the season, and we'd very likely be 4-4, going on 5-4 after this weekend. Plus we wouldn't be getting embarrassed on prime time.
  12. Hope and wishful thinking work when you have 3-4 rock solid proven guys on the line, and are only using wishful thinking on 1-2 others. For instance, JMS would have been much better suited if he were flanked by two capable guards, not the trash we have now.
  13. Other than a slow 2 weeks to start the season, can't really complain.
  14. Thibs with 12.5 has more sacks through his first 25 games than Osi, Tuck, and Strahan did through their 25 games, and it's not even close. Osi: 5 Tuck: 5.5 Strahan: 3 Granted his run defense isn't special but he's improving.
  15. He's been injured for awhile now, but our dumb ass coaches insisted on putting him out there.
  16. I'm also tired of hearing the suggestion "Well they've tried" or "It's not like they haven't tried to bring guys in to fix the OL." Gentleman in 2021 did nothing to address the OL, and insisted on going into the season with Nate Solder as a starter, not to mention Shane Lemiuex. We knew there were gaps going in; we rolled with the OL anyway. And I don't want to hear about the Nick Gates injury. That team OL wasn't one player away from being good or even average. 2023 they were banking on 4 guys not named Andrew Thomas to take a leap (or at least 3), but none of them did, and JMS is playing like a rookie. We knew there were gaps going in; we rolled with it anyway.
  17. So are we just rolling with one TE this Sunday, Bellinger? A TE who has been banged up (thanks to that stupid failed scrum play against the 49ers). Not even bringing up Cager and/or Jackson? Jesus fucking Christ this team is a mess.
  18. Paris Campbell and Saquon Barkley, plus cutting Leonard Williams ($10M in cap savings before his restructure) would have been more than enough.
  19. Yeah that's the Vegas Odds, but I think this Front Office/Organization legit thought we were a playoff team going into the season. They probably thought they beefed up the offense with Waller, Campbell, Hyatt, plus bringing back Barkley. They thought the OL would take a leap (e.g. Neal, Ezeudu, Bredeson), and JMS would come in and be a reliable starter right away...which is why they made no tangible OL moves in free agency, other than a backup Center...the same wishful thinking of the last 9 years. They disregarded the injury prone risk of Jones (and Taylor). The defense I can't really get on. They put it together as the season has gone on, despite rookies in the secondary, despite gaps at DE, etc. It's the offense and the OL particularly that's the problem.
  20. I'm saying they didn't, but any objective outside observer could have seen this coming.
  21. We were 3-6-1 down the stretch last year. We stumbled into the playoffs, then DJ had the game of his life against Minnesota and scammed the Giants into a contract. I said from the outset at best this is an 8-9 win team, but more likely 6-7 which wouldn't surprise me. At this point the way it's unraveling we'll be lucky if we get 5. The Front Office might have thought this team would be better, but anyone looking at this objectively could have seen the abysmal OL coming. Same shit different year. Same wishful thinking about the OL without seriously addressing it.
  22. They signed Matt Barkley to the practice squad. They're going to have to bring him to the active roster to make him an emergency QB, then maybe look to next week for him to play (assuming DJ is injured thanks to this putrid OL and his injury proneness). The sad truth is: what kind of a QB (e.g. Wentz, Driskel) really wants to play here considering the Giants abysmal OL? They'll just spend 8-9 games running for their life getting killed. Why we haven't signed or done something about the kicker position is a mystery. Going into the season without a competent OL is unraveling. The season is unraveling.
  23. I never thought McDaniels was a good coach or even offensive coordinator. He's like Adam Gase and Peyton Manning; he was only ever thought to be "good" because his QB was a hall of famer. When they don't have a hall of fame QB, they're a disaster. Honestly, what do you really need to do to coach Peyton Manning or Tom Brady (after years of them already being established star QBs?).
  24. They are morons. Morons. DJ will get hurt, then we'll be back to 27 straight running plays and 1 yard pass plays.
