  1. I'm definitely ready to move on from DJ. We basically have no choice but to bring in a QB this off-season, plus a reliable backup (unless Tommy D proves he can be a consistent backup the next 6 games). Jones won't even be ready for the first half so it's not like we can go without addressing QB. Who knows maybe Tommy D becomes something, but that's just wishful thinking at this point.
  2. I'm not sure that's how the dead cap works. Dead cap is money already paid and guaranteed. He already had the money from his signing bonus. Dead cap for free agents is just bonus money/guarantees paid up front but for cap purposes split by year over the course of the contract. The Giants should have found a way to extend him, and restructure his contract. They failed. That was my main issue.
  3. Yep. 5 of the Giants 10 passing TDs this season have been against the Commanders, lol. They're pretty awful. We really gotta bring in a hypnotist each week for our QBs "You're playing the Washington Commanders this Sunday....you are playing against the Washington Commanders....the team you are playing this sunday is the Washington Commanders."
  4. In two starts (80 pass attempts), Tommy Devito has 6 passing TDs In six starts (160 pass attempts), DJ has 2 passing TDs.
  5. We settled on Eli Apple because our confused front office thought social media is a scouting method, are for some reason surprised a high school kid tried weed, and were too scared to take (three time pro bowler) Laremy Tunsil.
  6. His PFF in his last year with us in 2020 was 65.9, which is about 20 points higher than our current guards, on average, and would make him a middle of the road starting guard in the league. He wasn't getting a bigger contract than that
  7. Booting Zeitler off the team, only to see him sign an incredibly modest 3 year $22M deal elsewhere, so we could sign Kenny Golladay at 4 years $72M, has to be the dumbest move in team history.
  8. I second this. I'll take Bo Nix with the #7th pick in the draft over Maye.
  9. I also watched the UNC Clemson game yesterday, and Maye looked pretty bad. He looks like he needs a good OL and lots of time to get through his reads. To be fair, he throws a pretty ball and made a few impressive throws, but overall not consistent enough. I always liked Bo Nix better. Penix too but he's just too injury prone, so I give the nod to Nix, pick 5-12 or whatever.
  10. Giants beat writers are annoying. Every Giants 6th round plus CB of the last 5 years has had so much hype going into the season. Rodarius Williams. Remember when Corey Ballentine was a steal? Lol
  11. With Evan Neal out, the 2022 draft is looking pretty good today lol. Thibs Robinson Bellinger McFadden Flott before he got ejected.
  12. He is, somehow, the NFL leader in passing yards through this week lol
  13. The Commanders pulling a NY Giants today by making a backup QB look like Joe Montana lol
  14. Also: Who's telling half the guys on the OL to spin around in a circle without touching the defender, twice per game each? I think our OL coaches must have been ballet dancers or something.
  15. OL Moves: - RT Trent Brown 3 years $33M - G/C Connor Williams 5 years $80M - Two veteran OL backups - Two top 100 draft picks
  16. Cutting Slayton and Glowinski which I agree with is about $12M in cap savings factoring in the dead cap. Waller has a $14M cap hit, but dead cap of $8M, so it probably makes sense to keep him at least one more season. Maybe restructure if possible. McKinney is a free agent.
  17. I lay all the same blame on the HC and Front Office if the OL coach is the main problem with this team, considering they hired him. Why aren't they replacing him if he's the main problem?
  18. Elsewhere: G Kevin Zeitler: $5.2M cap hit, PFF rating 68.9 G Will Hernandez: $5.3M, PFF 64.4 G/C Nick Gates: $3.3M PFF 60.6 T Cam Fleming (2022): $2.3M PFF 72.6 So if we had two or three of these guys, compared to the below, we'd basically have an average offensive line, instead of an abysmal offensive line, for less than $14M. Compared to current Giants (PFF): Bredeson: 43.6 McKethan: 46.1 JMS: 49.4 Phillips: 52.9 Pugh: 49.6 Neal: 39.8 Peart: 35.8 Somehow Glowinski is at a PFF of 64, despite giving up 6 sacks.
  19. Barkley owes it to himself to go off and sign with a competent organization, who believes in offensive lines, and can utilize him properly. Ravens, Chiefs, Bengals, etc.
