  1. Nothing this team has done in the past 12 years has been wise. Albeit we haven't don't anything like this prior. So atleast it's something new.
  2. Didn't they just run the ball a bunch out of I? Strong I? Not really pro style since all McCarthy did was hand the ball off 500+ times the last two years.
  3. The college is so hard to scout a QB now. The vast majority of offenses are one/two read systems, with very little time needed to process the field, or even run anything comparable to a pro style team. Accuracy is one of the few measurements on tape you can go by but even that is fixable in the pros to an extent. I would hate to be a scout now trying to find a franchise guy.
  4. As much as I hope Maye or Daniels fall, this kid has to be the pick at #6 if the QBs are gone. Such a dynamic playmaker who is just fundamentally sound. Oh he runs a 4.34 40 too.
  5. Yeah I see mocks with MHJ falling to the Giants now and four QBs with the first four picks, baring a Cardinals trade out. Pretty exciting though the Giants essentially have the second pick in the draft in terms of which non QB players are going to be there.
  6. Wonder if they eventually just have one guy who's a punter and kicker like the CFL. I would imagine some punting skill set translating to this kickoff.
  7. This makes kicker a real position to invest back into now. Sure you have a guy who can kick 90% but if he's giving the team back the ball on the 35 all the time it probably won't matter much.
  8. Senior had two. Actually out of the 32 teams, 15 have multiple SB wins, most with the same owner. So say almost 50%
  9. Trade deadline moved to week 9 from week 8. Coaches no longer need two successful challenges to get a third, after a single successful challenge they will receive the extra. QBs on the practice squad can be called up to QB3 in games, if the other two leave the game due to injury/ejection. The practice squad QB no longer needs to be signed from the practice squad the week after. The play clock expiring can be challenged. QBs down by contact, out of bounds before throwing a pass can be reviewed.
  10. I believe no on side kick until the fourth quarter and your team has to be trailing, if I read correctly. Other than that it's the same type of on side play.
  11. I guess the issue if guys pull down the defender but then rotate around and land directly on the back of legs/ankles, which is where that whole "swivel and unweight" part of the new rules gets stressed. I dunno though some of the tackles they showed that the owners were trying to highlight looked like pretty normal tackles to me. If I read correctly out of the thousands of tackles in the NFL the last few year this type of tackle has only occured a couple hundred times, less than 5%. But still adding ANOTHER thing the refs have to watch for and make a judgement call when they are clearly overwhelmed with what they have to look for now. Should be interesting.
  12. This was one of the things on top of automatic review that I wanted the NFL to adopt from the XFL. Kickoffs were pointless now they atleast have some impact.
  13. Trending out the owners meeting. The Cardinals are open for trading and looking to trade down. The Commanders are going JJ at #2 and he's sky rockets up boards after his pro day. *some* Giants news, Mara publicly is in support of a new QB if Schoen/Dabs pull the trigger.
  14. Im sure this won't get called in some playoff game with the game on the line.
  15. Yeah I can't recall the thread but months ago I said the Giants are going WR and rolling with Jone/vet/FA at QB. With the trade for Burns the Giant's dont have any real firepower to move up in the draft unless they mortgage future picks. The top three teams are all poised to take a new QB, the only real wildcard is the Pats who have holes everywhere on that team and would probably prefer a trade down to get more picks, I mean there's a slight chance that Daniels falls to six, but the Vikings are sitting there with two first round picks and I'm sure they've talked to the Cardinals extensively about a trade package for four. I can't see the Chargers trading out, they need Oline and WR help in the worst way and they can get either the best WR or OT where they are. So that leaves the Giants at #6 with some of the best play makers still on the board, and all the best defensive players still there as well. I mean I know we havent had it in awhile but imagine a Dline of Thibs/Burns/Dexy/Ojulari and Dallas Turner as one of our former GMs used to say "You can never have to many pass rushers"
  16. Just today four articles alone; 1) From Jordan Rannannannnanna saying from sources that the Giants are moving on because they can't trust Jone's injury history, and they wont draft Penix either. 2) From Tom Pelissero re quoting Daboll saying Jones is the guy when he's healthy and they wont draft a QB. 3) From Albert Breer saying the Giants are not going to risk a 40 million dollar cap hit next year having Jones play a single snap and are aggressively trying to trade up so they have a rookie QB contract the year they cut Jones. 4) Ian Rappaport saying Minnesota is a sure fire thing to trade above the Giants since they both want McCartthy.
  17. 2024 7th and 2025 3rd. One of the top 5 DBs in the NFL traded for a 7th and 3rd lol Titans about to reset the CB salary market.
  18. But always injured TEs are the Giants specialty.
  19. Also love the fact that no one really knows what the Giants are doing. Are they trying to trade up? Down? Is it JJ? Do they have a package for pick #3? Do they stay put and pick BPA? Do they really want a QB this year? Are they rolling with Jones? Lock? I feel like if this was Gettleman, he would of been gushing over someone like he did Jones after the senior bowl.
  20. The thing is when we drafted Peart he was looked at as a project player with everything you want. I'm sure some Oline coach can fix him. It just wouldn't be the HoF Oline coaches we had coaching here the past few seasons. Most of the guys we let go have gotten better at the Oline position since joining a new team.
  21. Smokescreens of smokescreens of smokescreens. It's smokescreens all the way down.
  22. Good move gives us room to sign the draft picks atleast.
  23. Go figure not to long after my mock, BBV comes out with an article on him. Well the dude is a DAWG so no doubt he comes from your loins TBCvP. He's everything you want in a free safety with his biggest knock being his size since he isn't the safety now a days who's a LB wearing a DB number. https://www.bigblueview.com/2024/3/20/24106763/2024-nfl-draft-prospect-profile-javon-bullard-s-georgia-scouting-report-ny-giants
