There is zero chance that Schoen and Daboll are risking their careers on Jones and I doubt they survive a 3-14 season to get another top 5 pick for a QB next year. GMs and coaches don't think 4 years down the road anymore simply because they don't have the time too. The Giants need a QB and they are in a position to get one. A rookie resets the clock they have here as well.

I don't think we'd need to outside of getting the #1 pick. Value wise #2 or #3 is doable with second round picks.

With how Belton and Pinnock have played I'd have no problem letting McKinney go. Granted I'd still want to bring in a vet or two for the rotation and eventually upgrade the position, since neither guy are world beaters. But we have priorities elsewhere this offseason that need to be addressed.

I still get shell shocked whenever I hear someone talk about some draft prospect and their only positive is "well he's a strong nasty player" Flowers was the perfect example of a college player who was never coached to play the position just rely on his size and strength. Can't do that in the big leagues.

Penix doesn't make it out of the top 15 despite his injury history I imagine. The league is starved for talented QBs or ones that can compete with Mahomes/Allen. Someone will take the risk and grab him in round one and just pray he doesn't repeat his already plagued injury career. I would suspect him to be gone in that 10 to 13 stretch - Vikings/Raiders/Jets/Broncos.

Yeah both Mayfield and Minshew will be starters on teams next year and the contracts that come along with it.

We can now carry DJs contract without it killing the cap space for next year (after restructures and cuts that is) I'm on the train that we trade up to #2/#3 and get whichever QB that Schoen and Daboll want to die on the hill for. Yeah Mahomes got it done when it mattered most, those scrambles alone won them the game. The dude is a different level of QB. The fact that he took this WR core and dragged them to the SB reminds me of Eli dragging the Oline and RBs to the 2011 SB.

Was the 49ers were to scared to loose. You can't expect to hold Mahomes to FGs all game. The defense took its foot of the game and the offense needed to try for a few more big plays instead of that ground and pound which doesn't work when the other team can score in 2 mins.
