  1. Not to mention bringing in a 31 year old LB who hasn't played in more then 6 games in the last two years doesnt really make me think "Oh great he's going to help" What's the over under of Mitchell blowing a knee the day (if) he signs?
  2. Holy fuck. All I can say really. Goff was starting to emerge as a good MLB who could of developed into something better this year. This really puts a hit into the really weak LB core, hopefully some of these rookies and FAs can come in and at least patch the LB position.
  3. Yeah I guess it depends on how optimistic you are, just to me the running game is one Bradshaw knee jerk away from going into the gutter and the front 5 of the O-line is still trying to gel and havent really faced a good D-line yet. Plus you can have the best running game in the world but if Eli puts out another 25 INT season it will be another no play off season. I dont know I think I'm more cautious this year then I have been with the Giants for awhile.
  4. Honestly this is the one year since the SB win when I think the season can go really really bad for the Giants. I'm not saying it will, I still think the Giants are an easy 10-6 team but if the Giants collapsed I wouldnt be surprised either.
  5. Or maybe there are actual concerns heading into the season. I do agree with the points he made however I think Nicks and the STs will be fine. Really this season is all about Eli.
  6. Yeah lets laugh at other people getting hurt. Classy.
  7. We should just let them all go and sign Tiki. Then him and Rolle can run the team. 18-0 for the next five years.
  8. Until Reese lets him walk after getting a cramp in his leg during the off season.
  9. I think the "coffin corner" punters like Feagles are a dieing breed, more coaches want their punters to have range to get them out of a bad situation then accuracy.
  10. I still dont understand, either GIllys plays have 47 words in them or Eli is the slowest talking QB in the league cause for some reason we have to have the slowest no huddle offense in the league. In the CFL the playclock is 20 seconds long and most teams get the ball off in a no huddle with an easy 7-10 seconds left. The NFL play clock is 45 seconds but yet the Giants manage to snap the ball with 1-3 seconds left. It's baffling.
  11. Did he scream Omaha during the entire thing and then try to hang up the phone but missed the phone base by 5 feet? J/K I still bElieve
  12. I'm not saying the Giants would bring in a new QB to start day one of next season but what I mean is if Eli plays another season where he arguably hasnt improved, do the Giants start to consider some sort of option at QB. Bring in a veteran QB just in case he doesnt improve? Do they draft someone to start learning behind Eli ala Aaron Rodgers and Lord Favre in Green Bay. Like I said though it all depends on Eli play.
  13. It's interesting to think that the Giants literally lie on the brink of 5-11 or 11-5 and it's all up to Eli. If Eli continues to play how he has the Giants will fall to a losing record there is no doubt about it. We do not have the veteran leadership on the team to over come the offensive woes. The defense can do it's job all it wants but if Eli is turning the ball over 20 times plus in another season then the Giants wont make the playoffs. However if Eli snaps into a grove and steps his play up the Giants can easily roll over most teams in the league and finish with a winning record and a play off birth. It's odd to think as well of the consequences of Eli's play. If Eli plays bad and the Giants fail to make the playoffs, does that mean TC is done with? As well do the Giants start looking at other QB options if Eli does regress? Do free agent players leave the Giants since they are no longer contenders? What about Fewell? Does he get a shot at head coach if we go threw a losing season. Like I said it's odd to think the Giants might become a team like the St.Louis or Miami, not really in contention but trying to get back on track. And it all depends on Eli.
  14. Honestly during the draft I was (one of) the most critical on this board about the JPP pick and I know for a fact no one has ever said this about him.
  15. A player gets hurt in the preseaon all you hear is "HURRR DURRR WE DONT NEED A PRESEASON!!!!!" A player gets hurt in the beginning of the regular season "DUUURRRR WE SHOULD HAVE MORE PRESEASON GAMES SO THEY CAN GET READY!!!!" It happens every season.
  16. It's almost like the coaches and players didnt have a full offseason to practice and get back into football shape.
  17. With the luck the Giants have, Eli will tear every muscle in his shoulder, Bradshaw will tear both knee ligaments and Tuck will break something in a touch game.
  18. Yeah Gruden has a thing for Eli, ever since that playoff win in '07. I recall a broadcast last season were Gruden went on and on about how Eli controlled that playoff game against Tampa and how he watched him mature to a SB MVP in that very game. Chucky is a well addition to the broadcast booth, hope he never leaves.
  19. This is what saddens me about the NFL now a days, the lack of any sort of loyalty. You rarely see a player spend his entire career with the team that drafted him unless he is pro-bowler or a perennial HoFer. I know it's a two way street that players leave teams all the time for big deals, looking for the money but at the same time you see it alot of times when teams let players go mainly because it's a good "business choice" Would of loved to Seubert retire in Blue, same with O'hara.
  20. You know loyalty had been dead in the NFL for the last 20 years right?
  21. Plus I mean what else is Eli going to say in that situation? "Oh Yeah I'm a horrible QB compared to Tom Brady, he's A tier I'm more of a B- tier QB" Obviously Eli is going to say he's in the same class as Brady, you gotta admire the confidence. It's the same thing as during the SB when Plax was asked "What is the score going to be for the game" Obviously Plax is going to give the winning favor to the Giants. It's just the press putting players into a position where if they answer, they stir something up, if they dont answer they still stir something up. In this case when Eli said he thinks he's in the same class they can go on for acouple days about it, but is he said it wasnt then the press could go on about how Eli doesnt have confidence. It's just the press being the press.
  22. He has three SBs, two time SB MVP, multiple pro-bowls, two time NFL MVP, was a part of a perfect (regular) season and is a sure fire first ballot HoF QB. Honestly what more can he improve on?
