  1. The difference is Collins would of been drafted if he didn't tell teams he was gonna sit out the year if he wasn't drafted in round 1. Tunsil at least kept his mouth shut and didn't say anything so stupid. Honesty I have no problem with the lack of addressing Oline. To me this year was one if the worst for FA Oline players, just trash talent who were overpaid because there was no one else. I mean the Giants have invested heavily in the Oline the last couple of years in the Draft and FA,.gonna take more then one year with the glaring holes at every position,.
  2. He's a Cowboy this year, he's been replaced and wants put via trade.
  3. Oh not to mention if you put any faith into that profootball focus grading system he was one of the worth lineman starting in the nfl despite having some of the best talent around him. I mean there's a reason why the Dallas has no problem trading the guy and replacing him.
  4. His medical history scares the heck out of teams and no one is willing to trade a third/fourth for a guy who might not even play more then four games. I mean Dallas tries to ship his out before the Draft, some reports say they were practically willing to give him away for extra picks. No one wants the guy.
  5. To be fair since then, he hasnt been a punter for any other team as well. Guess it doesnt take long to determine if a kicker/punter will make it in the NFL.
  6. The problem with Fewell's blitz scheme was that anyone could see it coming from a mile away, heck most of the time the commentators were taking about the expected blitz before the QB was started calling out the cadence. MLB/SLB blitz, safety blitz from 20 yards deep, corner blitz with the corner standing beside the DE on the line of scrimmage was his whole arsenal of tricks. Oh and the famous send 10 players on 3rd and 1 leaving everyone uncovered. When the team lacks pass rushers you need to get creative, zone blitz, fake coverage, have guys moving around at the line. It's hard for any blitz to succeed when the offense knows what's coming before the defense even does, no one was fooled by Perrys defense.
  7. It must be hard for some players like Bradford to come to terms that he's nothing special in the NFL after being drafted #1 overall and expected to be the next face of a franchise. I mean you come into the league with all this expectation, then you get traded by the team who put faith in you for another QB, then finally the team that traded for you now drafts the new franchise QB behind you. It must really play with a guys head/ego whatever after all of that, but you're right he could of handled it a lot better.
  8. Everything I've read said the Jets were never offering the 2nd round pick, just toying with the idea of it while offering a 4th round pick.
  9. I thought the offer from the Jets was an extra fourth, they were low balling by not offering the extra second.
  10. I think this is very much the case.
  11. I don't think he was caught "flat footed" as so much as the Titans were willing to trade up to grab Conklin(sp?) so they had to take the next best available which was Apple on their board, hell there was a run on CBs after Apple was taken so I think every other team in the draft was just as surprised as all the trades occurring in the top 10. I can't see Apple as the next Allen since that was a reaction pick to the Bills taken the other CB before them, cant recall the name off hand.
  12. I thought this was a thread about the company Apple lol This Apple pick is going to be scrutinized to high heaven before it's all said and done, with some impact LBs and even Tunsil waiting there at 10, Apple was still a head scratching move considering the state of the Oline and LB core. He does fill a big need in the non existent secondary pool of players, and will hopefully become of the top CBs in the game in the next few seasons ala Webster 2.0.
  13. We all know Spags likes to run with an extra secondary player on the field most of the time on defense, with how the Giants have drafted and addressed the LB spot (or lack or addressing) do you think Spags has convinced MacAddodles and the rest of the coaching staff to make it the base defense? Think of it this was, as it stands I figure the starting lineup or the majority of playing time lineup will be; DL- JPP/Snacks/Hankins/Vernon LB - Robinson/Kennard CB - DRC/Jenkins/Apple S - Collins, Thompson (or some other teams camp cut) As it stand the Giants might only NEED or Spags may only need two or three capable starting LBs in rotation, trying to hide the lack of talent/depth by putting the best defensive players on the field at the same time. Collins can play the run better then most LBs in the league, and Jenkins/DRC/Apple could be the best CB tandem in the league. I dont know maybe just spinning yarn here, but could be that Spags has other plans in mind for this defense than needing more then a couple starting LBs.
  14. The Pats will pick him up, he'll become an outlet in the run game and passing downs for Brady. People will still say he's shit. Wish him all the luck.
  15. I just mean the talent is so skewed in college ball. I use future hall of famer Ramses Barden as an example, looking at his college highlight tapes he looked like the next Randy Moss, but it's easy to catch a ball when the next tallest guy on the field is a 5'7 CB. It's why I hated the idea of drafting Tredwell in the first round, everything I've seen of him in college was the CB/Safety fucking up on some play and him standing wide open in the end zone, but scouts still had a first round grade for the guy. I dunno it's why I'm at home and JR and CO get to fuck up fix the Giants.
  16. Yeah I'm still surprised that scouts can grade college players since college football is one of the most horrible sports to watch out there. Games are either complete blowouts since most teams lack any sort of talent and go up against teams with stacked players, or they come down to some fluke play. Might as well be watching the players pop warner games to judge their NFL readiness instead of college ball.
  17. Sounds less like an "intellegence failure" and more of a case that the little bitch of an owner we have couldn't keep his mouth shut.
  18. If Coughlin gave him more playing time, he'd be all pro.
  19. I like it personally. I never liked the convention that players had to have specific numbers instead of just being within a range. Like WRs who wear numbers in the teens instead of always being in the 80s,
  20. As much as I want Thompson to be starting next to Collins this season there will only be one #27 in my book. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1r3yuWcd6zk Oh the days when the Giants could play power football.
  21. There was no other "very good defensive back" after Apple and Hargraves.\ And the Giants would still be getting low balled in the deal.
  22. You have the opportunity to become a millionaire and play a child's game for your career, all you have to do is not be dumb fuck. I have zero and I mean absolutely zero sympathy for an idiot like him, glad he isnt a Giant.
  23. I just mean some of these guys go their entire lives being "above the system" because they can play a child's sport. They get pushed through high school and college in filler classes, some cant even read or write their own names or add 2+2. They get treated like royalty in college and in the pros. To them they can do anything without any consequence, and they do, ala RapistBurger.
