The more I research and the more I read - I am convinced that I don't have a clue where anyone is going. I've even read that Mariota will go before Winston and the reasoning behind it was solid. I've read that the Giants will NOT take an offensive lineman and the reasoning behind it made sense.

It is one of those situations where the more you know, the more you realize how much you don't know.

Regardless - I will attempt to put a list together and post it before the draft.

The new OC in Tampa(Koetter) has a connection to (Helfrich) Oregon's head coach and apparently knows Mariota very well. Mariota would also probably fit their system better and Lovie looks for high character guys, so they may back off Winston. Also seen some pundits having concerns with Winston on field. Mariota is my #1 QB and also Mayock's. If Mariota does make it to two there could be a trade and that sort of throws off the whole draft. I thought and thought about putting Mariota one

I'm really glad we aren't hurting for a QB. Winston scares me with his previous legal problems and the accused rape and stuff. It's hard to know what goes on in someone's head and colleges will bury the dirt to keep a superstar on the team and get him out of trouble. Back room payoffs, etc., because there is so much NCAA and TV contract money for a school to disregard.

Personally, I'd take Mariota over Winston on character alone. He also has a stronger arm that Winston. To me, Winston is the second coming of Geno Smith. Again, I'm just glad we have Eli and aren't in that position of need.

Bleedin'... there has never been a more scrutinized player for his off-field activities save Manziel than Jameis Winston. And Winston has had to endure a lot more negative consequences and media hit jobs for otherwise petty bullshit... like the bb guns and cussing in the student union.

Is he a knucklehead? You bet. But he was suspended a whole game, and a BIG game (against Clemson, if memory serves correct), for yelling, "Fuck her right in the pussy". Now come on. This isn't a coach or administration that was covering up a star. FSU has dealt with stars severely under Fisher for negative conduct.

The rape allegation has no legs, never did. Study up on this situation. The chick didn't even initially call the police, her friend did, and then her parents found out, all out of her control, and it snowballed on her. My guess is she cried rape because she didn't want Daddy (who's paying her freight at school) to know she's fucking a black guy willingly. But her story (more like stories, since there was more than one) never added up, and he wasn't even INDICTED. So it's not a charge, just an accusation, and my guess is he's going to bury this chick in court.

I'm not excusing the crab legs, but I've known for some time now that an employee of Publix "gave him a hook up", told him he was good to go. Was it wrong? Hell yeah... and he was punished for it and suffered legal consequences for it, and consequences from the university's athletic program as well.

Don't get me wrong... I don't think he's as good an NFL prospect as some are saying, and that's from his on-field performance. And the stuff he has done you still have to question his judgement and decision-making. And, if you read my post in the NFL section, I do think Mariota is going ahead of him.

But Winston is not the devil that some make him out to be.

I think his leadership ability exceeds Mariota's, but I think Mariota has better overall intangibles and will be the better player.

I readily admit that I don't study QB's like I do many of the other positions because I really don't care. I believe Eli will be with us for at least a few more years and I believe Nassib is being groomed to eventually take over and I believe Nassib is going to excel in the NFL when he finally gets his shot. So I simply don't study up on QB's.

As far as Winston goes, all I've done is read headlines over the past year on him and knowing it seemed he was always being accused of something. Never dug deep into it, but I tend to believe "where there's smoke, there's fire" and when someone is accused of things over and over, I tend to think there's a problem brewing somewhere.

Even so...when I've seen tapes on him on NFL Network, it reminds me of everything they were saying about Geno Smith who was the same size and won a pile of accolades as "First team this, first team that, MVP in Bowl Game, etc., etc.".

Regardless - I can honestly say I don't know a whole lot about Winston as a QB and even less about his personal life other than a lot of people have accused him of things and he, the school, etc., lawyered up and it kind of went away. And when I know that a lot of money is involved, I simply think the worst of human character.

But why does SD seem to be hurting for one?

But why does SD seem to be hurting for one?

Because the skinny is that Rivers has no interest in re-signing with them, and he's only under contract for this upcoming season, then a free agent. They have discussed trading him so they can't start over now and get something for him, rather than wait until next year holding the bag.

Manziel cost them a 1st and a 3rd. Now they're trading two number 1s for a qb a year later. He must've been Even worse behind the scenes than even the public is aware of if they're giving up on him this soon

LMAO - I was so hoping the Cowboys would pick him. They contemplated it...then went with Zack Martin and I threw a royal fit

Oh Johnny Football, you are such a party animal. Why couldn't you have been a cowboy? Damn
