Virginia Giant
Looks like he wants to add a couple teams to the playoffs. Personally I think the NFL playoffs are beginning to become a little watered down already.

Bigblue25
Jesus...its going to be hockey soon where two thirds of the teams make the playoffs... Yeah the fucking NBA where below .500 teams make it. This really kills the competition of the regular season. The problem with the NFL is they have this false sense of parity.

The problem with the NFL is they have this false sense of parity. So right brother...meant to include the NBA of now...I stopped watching NBA ball back in the early 90's. Now its something I will barely watch ...and never a whole game at that. No defense allowed... score fests galore...the superstars can do anything on the court while the good and average players get called on minor things. Too much tinkering has ruined basketball and the same is happening in the NFL. If the golden goose is laying gold eggs on a grass fed diet... why switch to corn? And I am sorry for all of the small market towns...but sports leagues are made and kept by big time rivalries with cities that have a big regional and national pull. This means California, New York, New England, the Southwest and parts of the Midwest... other than that the rest of the country does not need a team...instead of expanding I think we could shed at least two teams... There is no reason other than nostalgia for the San Diego Chargers to exist...the same for either the Bengals or Browns...my preference would be to lose the Bengals as the Browns have more of a history. Clarence the Blue Puppet
People bitch a bout a 9-7 team winning the playoffs, saying they don't deserve it, but then want more teams in the playoffs? How does that make any sense?

JMFP
I think it makes sense. There's usually one team every year that gets shafted because they play in a tough division.
Bonji
I think it makes sense. There's usually one team every year that gets shafted because they play in a tough division. There will always be a team just on the outside of the playoffs, no matter how low you set the bar. If you can't win your division, you shouldn't be in the playoffs. IMHO. I understand your point, but I look at it the same way as when baseball expanded their playoffs......more teams with something to play for at the end of the year. We could just as well eliminate playoffs and award the championship trophy to the team with the best record, or have the top team from the NFC and AFC meet in one championship game. It doesn't matter.. they're not tough enough. if they were that good they'd get in 2nd wild card spot. The format as is is perfect... I don't even watch the NBA or Hockey... only the sucky teams go home... fuck that. Baseball is on the other extreme... but again it's not really a sport so who gives a shit. gmenroc
More teams only saturates the product. More playoff teams, a 4-day draft...the market is virtually flooded to the point where fans are starting to get a bit sick of it. Do I love my Giants news...sure, that's part of why I'm in and out a good bit of my day. But there is a tipping point that Goodell seems to be speeding towards with reckless abandon. Fixed that. Seriously the owners who vote in most if not all of these changes are the ones who are going to bring about the demise of the NFL. Back in the day Football was on Sundays and Mondays. Now they have Football on damn near every day of the week and NFL news channel 24/7, the Owners and League are just raking in the cash. Pretty soon people will have enough (it's already happening) and the NFL will have a drop off in people watching and supporting the sport.
Sephiroth
It's funny... this whole time I've been saying, "Not watered down enough! We need 10 more teams in the playoffs!" The only thing that would make it even better would be if we got 6 new expansion teams. I'm thinking Milwaukee and Chatanooga need NFL francises. Or Burlington VT!
