BlueInCanada Posted May 10, 2024 Posted May 10, 2024 Gone are the days of a rookie holding out, still nice to see our guy sign relatively quickly.
BlueInCanada Posted May 10, 2024 Author Posted May 10, 2024 Four year deal, with fifth year option. 29 million fully guaranteed, 18 million signing bonus.
mastershake Posted May 10, 2024 Posted May 10, 2024 I think what helps getting these done quick is aren't these rookie contract levels/years per-determined by the labor agreement they reached with the Union several years ago?

Yes, the comp is determined by draft slot, so there’s not much to negotiate about.
gmenroc Posted May 10, 2024 Posted May 10, 2024 Is it slotted all the way down to last pick or is it just 1st rounders?

BronxRik Posted May 11, 2024 Posted May 11, 2024 You would think it's first rounders, otherwise Mr. Irrelevant would get the same deal as #1 so what would be the point of working hard to be #1?
Mr. P Posted May 11, 2024 Posted May 11, 2024 There is a rookie wage scale for all rounds and has been for years.
