I always though this dude was awesome. Most of us wanted him before the raiders went bananas and took him so high. He's planning a comeback. What you guys think??

Retired linebacker Rolando McClain is reportedly targeting a return to the NFL.

McClain, the No. 8 overall pick in the 2010 draft by the Oakland Raiders, has been working out and spreading the word that he plans to play in the NFL next season, according to a report by the Carroll County Times.

The Raiders released McClain on April 5, 2013, after a series of off-field issues, including a shooting incident in December, 2011 that led to four misdemeanor charges. The charges were later dropped after McClain and the victim reached a financial settlement.

McClain signed with the Baltimore Ravens five days after being released by Oakland, but retired nearly a month later, stating he wanted "to focus on getting my personal life together."

The Ravens still retain the rights for the 24-year-old former Alabama standout. In 41 games over three seasons with Oakland, McClain tallied 246 tackles and 6.5 sacks.

I don't see the connection to burfict. One was passed over by everyone for the entire draft. The other is a first round bust who can't stay out of trouble and washed out of the leauge. The better comparison would be Aaron curry.

Camp competition... I wasn't too happy the Giants didn't take a chance on Burfict in the 7th...

Me neither, dude. I posted here somewhere before that draft I wanted him just not in the first two rounds.

I think most people thought VB was going to be to much of a head case to deal with. I don't think he would be who he is if he was drafted.

it's worth the gamble for a 7th round pick... or even as a URFA.
