Time to give Da'Rel Scott a chance

Every time I see this kid run, he shows speed, balance, and good forward lean.

He's big, fast, and finishes his runs.

Given that Andre Brown simply can't stay healthy, they should give Scott a bigger opportunity.

The word on Scott has always been that he's extremely fast - a little small. He's actually a little bigger than Wilson who is 5'9 and 205 lbs, while Scott is 5'11"/215lbs, but a thinner frame.

Scott runs the 40 in the the 4.3's, Wilson in the 4.4's

Scott is fast. Don't know if he's got good hands or that he can block, but maybe it's time to baptize him by fire and see what we got.

I'd also give Cox some carries and develop him into more of a blocker as he's bigger (6'0"/220) but a bit slower....however, if he get's stronger in the legs, he might be a good short yardage bulldozer.

I heard on the local ESPN sports show the host was talking about how he wouldn't mind bringing in Jacobs . at the start off the season 1 week away he should be able to brush up on Gillly's playbook in no time. he has been working out not just couch potatoing it up . After I head that I thought it wouldn't be a bad Idea to at least bring him in at least for a look see . Another Ex Giant whit recent Gilly knowledge would be DJ ware. signing either ex would only be a stop gap . 1 year deal. but then again lets see what the waiver wire will bring come Saturday. then move on from there.

Now I know by resigning Jacobs or Ware some would think by doing so would just be hindering any of the progress gained by Scott or Cox. But let's be realistic about the Blocking abilities of both and who it is they are to protect. Also I do believe there is a new IR rule in effect for this year and I think Andre Brown may fall into that rule injured reserve-designated to return. he should be out 4-6 weeks

He reminds me of a guy named Barry Foster that used to be a very servicable back for Pittsburgh. Led the league in rushing a few times.

I think his size and speed are good, but it's his vision that worries me. Dude seems to miss the hole pretty often.

I think with Brown going down it's a given.

I could see the FO trying to bring in some vet help but I think Wilson/Cox/Scott should be good enough until Brown returns.

You know unless they cut Scott for Nassib.

I will never speak nor type that person's name again until he's actually doing something productive for the team.

Right now, he's just a roster spot, and frankly, I don't know if he'll have any ability to run the scout team being that he can't move as quick as Carr.
