  1. Just turned on the local NY game; Jets giving it up to Chi-Town....pathetic. But the E-girls on their knees to the Titans doesn't get any better than this.
  2. No what I want is what they have in the NBA; more of a soft cap and the ability to sign your own players. The ones you developed rather than going so much after the mega super star from east butt fuck. That way teams are rewarded or punished for their own draft choices. And if you go for the quick fix in free agency, it should be as expensive as all fuck all. So if you mess up everyone derides you for trying to buy a championship. And if it works, it won't last because the super star will want more money, and/or there will be the clamor for more superstars no matter the price.
  3. I think the mistake that was made with the NFL's free agency system is that I believe you should be able to spend as much money as you want to on the people that you drafted and developed. So if you draft a lets say Chad Bratzke; develop him to the point that he is force on the other side from Strahan, then I believe the Giants should have first crack at him. But as an incentive not to hold onto every free agent, there should be some type of penalty or luxury tax. As a old time fan, I preferred football when you had dynasties, where 3-4 teams in each conference dominated for a period of time. Also if the owners ever got off the dime and guaranteed salaries; then this farce of a free agent system that we currently have would not have come about in its current shape or form. Todays players have no loyalty; and it is primarily because the teams have no loyalty to them. So a guy can sign for a 3-4 contract at a certain salary and only see two of those years because of an injury. Every other professional sport (except for boxing, and do we want to be compared to them?) has guaranteed salaries and have survived. I know football has a higher injury toll than any other sport; but something could be worked out where every facet of the game enjoyed huge profits.
  4. I agree with you on the Eli thing, it is too soon to call him a bust. People were asking for Simms head after every lousy game. And I started watching the Giants back in 69'. Guess I am a baby fan too (check the Cowboy boards I guess the average age range is about what 18-25?). So I started to watch 6 years after their last championship appearance and 12 years before their first playoff appearance in 18 years (63-81). You guys want to see the definition of a lousy quarterback, look up Joe Pisarcik's name in Wikipedia. I had nightmares for a whole year seeing the Jet's former coach (Herman Edwards) running the ball back for a score on "The Fumble". And you know what McVay (coach of the Giants at that time) went on to be pretty successful in the Niner front office. Football is a game of longterm solutions to short term problems; almost like turning a bus. But Opie definitely has to be put on notice that he cannot perform so abysmally and expect not to set down as punished and/or for the coaches to get in his face.
  5. He is not taking the fucking hint, wink, wink, this ain't the GMB. Oh well his fucking funeral.
  6. Sorry bigjeep they have about 50 posts and about 5000 replies that have already gone over this same territory. At Sportswrath, you can have your fucking ass handed to ya if you are not careful. Good Luck.
  7. You have got to be fucking kidding me. Why don't they go to my local High School and put some Giants skins on those kids...because you know they are going to be picking them off of the street pretty soon.
  8. Right On! Right On! Sorry I was referencing my "Three the Hard Way" blaxploitation flicks again.
  9. I can remember as a Giants fan saying these guys never pass on 1st down.....now that is all they do, or it seems like it. Be careful of what you ask for I guess.
  10. I'm telling ya ....its like last year when I saw some Giants scouts trolling through the local mens shelters looking for guys who knew the difference between a football and a ham sandwich...Jesus Christ. No way is this guy in game shape. And guess what because of his out of shape status...he will probably get hurt...get IR'd and retire from the Permanent Injury Unable to Perform List.
  11. It got in your mouth sugar...I'm sorry ...I was aiming for your face.
  12. Legree was solid/good against the run; and did not hurt you on the pass. But he was nothing special. Thank God this is not Carolina or the playoffs because it is starting to look like wait till next year for the defense. By the way I hope I am wrong. And will happily eat crow.
  13. All I know is that I have been watching Giants football since 69' and I have seen a lot of quarterbacks good, bad, indifferent, lousy, brain dead...you get the picture. And one of the biggest reasons that I am still willing to give Opie the benefit of the doubt is that I was one of those idiots who wanted Scott Brunner as number one over Simms. *SIGH* A shame I hold to this day...."Hello my name is TBCVp and I was a Scott Brunner fan over Simms; "HELLO TBCVp". And we all know how that turned out. So I am willing to keep giving Opie the benefit of the doubt because this kid was made for a Fassel type offense and not Coach Cheerleader and his wife Huffie's pathetic attempts at quarterback development. I still really think that Opie will blossom (wrong word there)...will develop into a top tier quarterback with the proper training, support and team. And hell yeah ...put your foot in his ASS when he FUCKS UP like he did last Sunday. No it is not alright Opie that you fucking overthrew everyone like they were fucking Lurch or Herman Munster out there. Even though I am not a fan of the Full Metal Jacket drill sergeant routine...it does have its uses. Opie has been stroked enough. It is now time to drastically reduce the tolerance level for his repetitive fuck ups; not the unavoidable ones; just the ones he keeps repeating.
  14. Looking at your smiley...and your son's hair....I have to ask, what would hold up a pick in your hair .....Vitalis and a rubber band?
  15. Look into my eyes ....here it comes....baby....don't move.....thats right look at me....don't stop....YEARRRGH!
  16. Yeah, the Giants' WR's need a step ladder, a net and a wing and a prayer these days....don't leave out a lifetime supply of human growth hormone to add an extra foot or two to these guys height.
  17. I hear you...I have been saying the same thing since Coach Cheerleader and crew got here. They try to fit the personnel to their schemes as opposed to fitting the schemes to the personnel. An example is forcing Shockey to block like he is the second coming of Howard Cross.
  18. I have been watching the Giants play since 69' and I have never seen the amount of deviousness, lies and bullshit concerning the injury report as I have seen since Coach Cheerleader took over. Just goes to show you when other teams list someone as questionable he is more than likely a probable. The Giants list someone as questionable then that usually means that he is going on IR or his career is over. What a crock. What I say...what the fuck is going on at the Meadowlands?
  19. Yeah I hear you Sir Graffenberg (lol)...it seems as Ernie cannot pick a decent DB to save his life. I think Young's blind spot was WR, Earnest Gray anyone?
  20. Yeah at least Sehorn looked like he had an idea back there on what to do. They should have played Sehorn at FS as opposed to CB. He was totally exposed back there in the SB. But we did not realize it because John Fox' defenses were full of feints and disguises, that he was able to hide Sehorn's deficiencies at CB. I am with you, the other kid has what it takes...we should play him. I would rather deal with a blown coverage or two and have 6-7 interceptions, than someone who is constantly out of position, can be beaten deep and is a piss-poor tackler.
  21. Drill sergeant crap does not work on a lot of people across all of the generations. I was born in 64' and whenever I was in a situation where I had a choice between a drill sergeant mentality or one where people were treated as adults I always chose the latter. Some people respond to that drill sergeant shit ...others don't. A personal example was when I was learning how to ride a motorcycle in the mid-80's. I was 26 and I paid about 500 bucks to a well known motorcycle training program in Queens. This guy trains the NYPD and has also trained many of the motorcycle riding stars and celebrities. Let me tell you...he spoke to me like he was paying me to learn (all of his instructors were like that...including a couple of Amazons on the payroll ) or I was some unwanted step-son or something. Barking orders like he was my father....I got tired of his shit real quick and told him to shove the fucking 5 bills up his ass. I then went to another trainer... a Chinese guy who preferred to be called Austin. It was like night and day...when you made a mistake he told you what you did wrong, how to avoid the mistake, and how to do it the right way. All of this without yelling/screaming that you are going to die if you do this or that...or that was terrible...so forth and so on. Austin had an English vocabulary of 200 words, max. But this guy was able to transfer his considerable riding experience without any of the immature, ineffective juvenile bullshit that Coach Cheerleader peddles out as discipline. Let me tell you I could never play for this a-hole where others could...no white socks. Come to me with that crap and I will tell you to your face to drop dead. I have lost and quit some very well paying jobs because of a supervisor or two who have overdosed over too many viewings of Full Metal Jacket.
  22. You are right up there with Feehly my friend....maybe you should take a little trip north on I-95 for a tryout.
  23. I think the new kid's name is Lochery or Lockery. He may be green, but the few glimpses of him that I have caught it looks like he has the intangible instincts of an Everson Walls type DB. Good cover, good back pedal, able to shadow a receiver without biting too hard on play action; and best of all takes appropriate gambles like going for the ball especially when he has a safety over the top; and looking for a safe pass defense or tackle when he is alone on a island. These type of skills....intangibles if you will...were never evident in Will Allen; Will Peterson had some of them; and Corey Webster in my opinion either does not have them or like you said his confidence is so shattered that he is just occupying space back there. The one time I want him to go for the sure tackle ...he goes for the interception, which allowed Chicago to get first down on their second third quarter touchdown drive. Like Carl Banks and Dick Lynch (ex Giants DB) say on the Giants radio broadcast on WFAN, you have to know the down and distance; plus you have to know the defense that is called...do you have help...where is it....who is it....or am I on an island in man to man. You can't give a ten yard cushion if they need 8 yards for a first down. You are already conceding the first down, unless he drops it. Basically we need a DB coach who actually played as a DB...preferably in the modern era with apologies to Dick Lynch era guys from the 60's and 70's.
  24. Yeah thanks...another one of those he is too small to play in the NFL statements, lol.
