Who's your "not seeing it" player this year?
Chuck Wagon replied to Sephiroth's topic in New York Giants
LT did that to a lot of people D. Craig played at my High School's cross town rival back in the 70s. He was a fucking man playing against boys. He put 370 years on us. In the 80s I worked construction with one of his cousins and I got met him a handful of times. He is a great fucking guy. ...like, run into you at O'Hare airport 35 years later and he still remembers you type of great fucking guy. I have no idea why he isn't in the Hall of Fame...if Marcus Allen, J.Bettis, and Terrell Davis are. He was probably the most fundamentally sound back ever and could do everything at a 90 percentile level....block, chip, run, catch, read coverages and blitz packages. I think he even threw a TD pass or two....but I need to double check that. I think he finally gets in this year but its way over due and shouldnt have had to been done by the Vets Committee. LOL.....come Steph...wake up and smell the 70s and 80s......Roger Staubach.....Roger Wirley.......Roger Craig.... C. Wagon -
I think another big part of it was simply New York over San Diego......New York offered Eli an abundance of off the field commercial and media opportunities he is still milking to this very day....not to mention a lifetime support from one of the oldest, most loyal and largest fan bases in the NFL. San Diego....was then and is now.....LA Adjacent ......which even the Chargers eventually figured out when and they had to move to LA. Old Man Archie was a pretty savvy operator for a guy from Mississippi. Lets also not forget the Charger fans boosting and sticking that trade up our ass when it paid off for them early as we waited for Eli to get his legs under him. If River, Merriman and Keading every won a Super Bowl...they still would be sticking it in our ass. C. Wagon C. Wgaon

Agreed, he has 10 years of PSU and NYG carries on that body with the last six being behind C minus to D minus lines. Even with all that wear, I still think he is more than serviceable and will benefit only having to carry the ball 200 times a season behind a great line rather than 250 times behind a crap line. Mostly I hate he is going to do that in the NFC east and particularly for the eagles. C. Wagon -

Maybe Seph....definitely running behind the 29th best OL in the NFL might mean that. But maybe not playing 8 games on the garbage turf at Metlife and on "realish" natural turf at The Linc might save some wear and tear....I am sure playing behind best rated O line in the NFL and still top 5 after Kelce's retirement is gonna help with that too. In fact, it might make him a bigger, stronger version of what Christian McCaffery became after he escaped the Panthers. I am kinda happy for him as he has always been nothing but class and heart ....but him going to a divisional rival is bad karma for the gmen in my book. C. Wagon -
No way this doesn't comeback to bite us on the ass for the next 4 to 5 seasons. https://heavy.com/sports/philadelphia-eagles/saquon-barkley-sends-5-word-message-after-eagles-signing/ C. wagon

...you have to know how to dress for this sort of shit. https://www.yahoo.com/sports/chiefs-fans-endured-freezing-temperatures-202714224.html If you dont have the proper gear...don't go. C. Wagon

That seems basic, particularly after getting his ego checked in Denver maybe he won't be such a locker room cancer. What's the down side if they really are over #8 ? It could be he needs a place to prove something to the people that are now saying he was the key cog in the worst trade in NFL history. C. Wagon

True, but typically they are career backups or journeyman......not HOFers like Eli should be one day. I am trying to think of an elite guy that was a HC or OC....Only ones I can come up with is Bart Starr at Green Bay in the early 70s and Norm Van Brocklin...who coached in early and mid 60s with expansion teams (Vikes and Falcons)....and they both sucked at coaching. McCarthy must have a photo of Jerra' banging a dead possum or something..... I mean how else does that guy....keep that job. C. Wagon

Cooper Kupp on playing on turf twice in five days: “I hate it
Chuck Wagon replied to jranieli's topic in New York Giants
Agreed. Its also something that is never factored in when the talk about GOATs or HOF......Brees, P Manning, Warner, ....Great Qbs, but they played a majority of their games in Domes and when not domes, southern /west coast stadiums. Favre, Brady, Kelley, E Manning played a majority of their games outdoors in places and conferences where half the season could be cold to cold as fuck and wet. I mean, there has to be away to calculate that shit into the numbers. C. Wagon -
...and Hackensack and Fort Lee and Patterson...lol...all the best places. Member when Joe B. got all pissed at Randy Moss for pretending to moon all those Packer fans. Lol....Wait until he has to explain DeVito's Uncle Cassian's gets off leach the first time he doesn't get a roughing the passer call. C. Wagon
-
Exactly....that is because 113.9 passing rating and 8 yard a carry rushing average is top tier NFL QB play C. Wagon

I am with you. His improvement has been experiential ...but against 3 weak teams. Two Philly games in the next four weeks...plus two bubble teams in LA and NO we are going to find out a lot. C. Wagon

True, but there are also a bunch of gestures they could break out if shit goes sideways. Just watch... and WASPS up in the TV booth wont know enough to break the camera away. Whether its the one arm bras d'honneur salute, a vaffanculo chin skim. "I gotcha right here..." junk grab or anything involving the biting of their palms.....book it, its going to happen. C. Wagon

Obviously not an Aikman guy but he was spot on last night..and more despondent than pissed at a couple of those calls....like...the "out of bounds first down reach" on that fourth down......and later the refs taking 5 minutes to review that punt that obviously bounced off Cager. The guy was getting chewed out by his coaches on the sidelines before that replay call was made. I think the refs are just afraid to get burned so they make calls they know will get kicked to the booth. I can't imagine what it is like watching an NFL game live with all the replay and TV timeouts....they wonder why fans are black out drunk by the fourth quarter.....too much down time. C. Wagon

He is Purdy, Purdy good the last 5 games....and is improving, not regressing, week to week. Stranger things have been known to happen. C. Wagon

I will have my first good night sleep in over a year thanks to this clarification. Soto and Verdugo were nice gets.....now just need Bellinger and that Japanese pitcher and I am good. C. Wagon
