  1. What's with all this Crayton hating? Aside from the guy who trapped the ball on his head, he was the Giants "Superbowl team's" greatest weapon.
  2. I would think you would be right at home in this athmosphere. Beer, vomit, convicts, and another Giant loss.
  3. Better yet. Have American's Team play an intersquad scrimage in that POS. The Giants and Jets can attend, of course, provided they pay the outrageous ticket price. It would at least give the rest of the country a reason to care about what is happening in that swampy hole...
  4. Rescued again, eh Big Blue? Maybe you should change your name to Lois Lane...
  5. I wouldn't defend the Roy Williams deal. And here's a news flash: Rolle is not Ed Reed or Troy Polomalu.. BUT the Giants payed him like he was.
  6. Oh, I see... Wilson made so many tackles, had so many picks, and made so many forced fumbles that there was just nothing left for Rolle to do. If my numbers are correct, and my statistician is off this week, in last years playoffs when the Packers and Saints hung 90 points on the Cards in back to back weeks, Rolle had no picks, no forced fumbles... Surely, the million dollar man should have risen up when his team needed him the most, wouldn't you agree, Superfan? Or was there just not enough big plays to go around between him and Wilson in those games too?
  7. At the outset, I should say that I've been here since the Vikings game. I popped on to that silly little joke that JoeMorris played to breakup the offseason bordom in which he referred to Eli as an "elite QB." HA HA HA... You should check that thread out for a good laugh when you have a moment Blue. I love it when you refute the "points" that you attempt to make. And I use the term "points" loosely. But I think you are right the second time around and Canty's departure has little to do with the drop in Ware's sacks. You are right when you say "nobody really knows" about Canty, so why pay him the way you would pay a player whom we know is great??? And you are correct. I did praise the Cowboys for drafting Canty later in the draft (4th round I think). Just as I praised the Cowboys for letting his underachieving ass go...
  8. Hey Superfan. Still hanging on to those Giants I see... You just unknowingly summarized the problem with Canty. He has had this "tremendous upside" since the day he was drafted. Yet, he was only "pretty good." Year after year... So the Giants are paying the type of money you give to tremendous players to a pretty good player whose tremendous upside never seems to materialize. The Cowboys defense did not miss him a bit last season and they saved a little money on Igor.
  9. HA HA HA... The three worst decisions teams made: 1... 2... 3. The Giants paying Antrel Rolle like the best safety in football when he hasn't performed that way. Rolle was the second-best safety on his own team. How many times have you watched Arizona play and said, "Rolle controlled that game?'' Never. He's never had a 100-tackle season in five years (not that that's the measuring stick for a great DB). He has intercepted 12 passes in five season and forced three fumbles in 68 career games. I think he's a nice player, not a dominant one. This is the second straight year the Giants have paid a free-agent defended franchise-player money. Last year it was Chris Canty's six-year, $42-million deal; now it's $37 million for Rolle over five. Canty was hurt much of last season, but GM Jerry Reese needs Canty and Rolle to be the players he paid for or he's going to feel heat for the first time in his short but illustrious GM career. 10. You're smarter than this silly little post, Joe. Move on...
  11. Hmmmm...This is one of the better posts here. I think if you must start throwing the "elite" label around, those first four guys are todays "elite" guys. Everyone else falls short for one reason or another. Who is the best of the rest is debatable and I could see why someone would argue Eli. But Eli, like the others, is not in the same class as those first four. Maybe he gets there, maybe he doesn't. The only thing I disagree with is I would throw Favre and Warner in that last group -- unless you left them out because of retirement...
  12. This post is so ridiculous I can't resist any longer. Eli is not an elite QB at this stage. A good QB but not elite. Eli is simply too innaccurate as a passer. You cannot blame all of his poor throws on the WRs or Oline. Eli is inconsistent. He dissappears too often to be considered elite. Look at their first 4 losses -- Saints, Cards, Eagles, and Chargers. He had over 30 attempts in each of these games and never cracked 250 yards. He also had 6 ints. The Saints game he passed for a measly 178. Numbers aren't everything but these cannot be overlooked and you cannot blame the supporting cast for everything. Case in point, the Cardnals game he threw for 243 yards,1 TD, and 3 Ints. In that game, Nicks caught a flucky 50 or 60 yard TD off a deflection. So, while his WR drop balls, they also helped him at times too. Take away that fluke and he has 0 TDs , 3 INTs, and less than 200 yards in a big Sunday Night home game. Elite? I think not. The 2nd Dallas game and maybe the biggest win of the season was propelled by defense. Eli threw for 241 yards. What is remarkable about this is that 74 came on an unusal dump pass to Brandon Jacobs, not a 60 yard bomb to a WR in which he split defenders. So his numbers are even somewhat inflated here. Yes he is good. Sorry, he is not elite by any stretch of the imagination. Interestingly, all of those games were against playoff teams. Do elite QB's disappear when faced with better competition? And we have not even touched on last year's playoff game when he and McNabb threw against the very same wind. Let's break down that tape...look at those throws...tell me he is Elite. Didn't he throw one right at Assante Samuel near the Giant's endzone???? An elite QB, indeed. That is a game they should have won.
  13. You pick the Vikings to win now we know the Vikings will lose. "Bandwagon fuck" -- very clever indeed. But at least I am not waiting to the 4th quarter of the Superbowl to "cement" my position... I'm surprised you keep posting. The Italian Hotdog smells you like Great Whites smell chum in the water...It's just a matter of time before he comes by for his daily feeding...
  14. Listen Superfan -- you should be giving the Jets a little more respect. They closed out the Meadowlands the right way and may even be hosting a Championship game in 1 week. Imagine that... By the way...Cowboys 36 Vikings 24 How painful it will be for you to watch the Cowboys hosting the Cards...
  15. Bravo Superfan...I think your head is still ringing from that Vikings game.
  16. I feel bad for Saints and Chargers fans because the fact that you just recently changed your mind means the Saints and the Chargers will NOT be in the Superbowl...Though it would be quite enjoyable to watch Rivers make the Giants look even more foolish for giving him and 30 first round picks for Manning's average little brother...
  17. HA HA HA...Saints will not beat the Cowboys anywhere. The Saints will be lucky to win next week. Favre is too imobile and his WRs are not good enough. NFC Championship in Dallas in 2 weeks...
  18. The Eagles will not win and you should return your Saints jersey to the store Superfan...they aren't crushing anybody....

    JETS

Just imagine...Eli was so inspiring last January and in Minnesota last week. I think you ment to say imagine if the Jets had Tyree...
  20. Very true...and if you miss the Cowboys this Saturday night be sure to check them out next weekend...or the next weekend...or the one after that...
  21. Interesting thread...Should the Cowboys be eliminated from the playoffs I am rooting for the Eagles. It doesn't matter why. But the point is that my being a die-hard Dallas fan does not prevent me from rooting for the Eagles. I actually wanted the Giants to defeat the Patriots in the Superbowl. The fact that they did it when Eli panicked and threw it to a nobody WR who is not even in the league anymore made it that much more enjoyable -- it was a win-win... Not that any of this matters. The Cowboys will not be eliminated and the Giants are in turmoil...I see repeat with a certain NFC East team hosting and playing in a Superbowl...
  22. You would have the tie breaker. The problem -- even if the Giants somehow win this week -- the two teams will not be tied again this season. I'm looking forward to New Orleans...
  23. Well you people need something to cheer about on Sunday. The rest of the evening will be cold, dark and quiet...
