  1. I don't think any true Cowboys fan is celebrating having to beat 49ers team in OT that probably will be successful if they go 7-9. I'm quite certain that GB, Atlanta, or Philadelphia, will dispose of that team by halftime. But throwing for 345 yards and 2 TDs with a broken rib is pretty impressive. Seriously, if Romo QB the Giants last night, with Nicks, Manningham and Bradshaw, Giants up by 28 at half. Sad but true.
  2. How does it feel 7 or 8 years down the road, to see your so-called "franchise" QB, BOOED at home, on Monday night, against a depleted team, that has no playoff aspirations even when healthy, because he couldn't complete a pass? Is this how a franchise QB should look this far in his career? Were you booing BigBlue? If you are as much as the football fan you claim to be, you should have. Unfortunately for Romo he did not have Spags or that defense to carry him to a Superbowl. Quite honestly, when all is said and done 7 or 8 years from now, I think people will look back at 2 superbowl winning QBs and marvel at the bargain the Cowboys got in Romo, and ask themselves how the Giants could give up so much for such an average player. Especially, when they had Rivers, who will also win one before he is done.
  3. Sorry, BigBlue. McCann can't help your sorry team. He plays CORNER back. Not QUARTER back.
  4. You post this as if you truly believe that the Giants are going somewhere this season.
  5. Manning is average. It will be evident this year. This year because they have lost offensive weapons they need a QB who is a leader and who can carry a team. He will fail. The Superbowl run was driven by defense. When Spagnola left it was over. At the end of the season, the debate will be whether its fair for TC to lose his job because the QB is inaccurate and makes poor throws. And we all know the end result of that battle.
  6. If you are bringing in Lito Sheppard at this stage of the game you are beyond desperate.
  7. Young up and coming HC. New respected DC. New day and era in Big D. NoTE. No Steve Smith. No security blanket for Little Manning. By the way, great article on Little Eli, in case you missed it. http://espn.go.com/new-york/nfl/story/_/id/6826921/eli-manning-lack-leadership-reason-plaxico-burress-re-sign-new-york-giants And then there's Osi and the "defense." Looks like two teams going in the opposite direction if you ask me. What am I missing here?
  8. I am not Cowboyz. Another board member told me about Cowboyz so I wanted to drop by and check his posts out. I like his work. But he's not me. It's been too slow of an offseason to visit you fine people. But what I did find amusing was that Eli was not voted in the top 100 players by his peers, while a certain QB in Texas was. All those NFL players must be blind to Eli's uncanny accuracy and leadership skills. They should read these boards more often, you people could teach them a thing or two. R-E-S-P-E-C-T Gotta love it!
  9. Now you're giving the Giants way too much credit.
  10. Yes. And with no secondary, no defensive line, and no offensive line, this weak Dallas team came to NY shortly after firing their coach, with an over-the-hill back up QB, and ran roughshot over your superstar QB and this "talented" Giants team. They even shut out the lights and still couldn't stop them. Perhaps had the Giants won that game, a game they were favored by 14 points in their new stadium, they would be in the playoffs...
  11. I'd actually be concerned if the Giants got Kibiak or Frasier. Kubiak might make something out of Peyton's little brother and this team probably would not have been abused by Philly and GB under Frasier. What did they give up, 80 points in two weeks? You're wrong. Your situation really couldn't be much worse.
  12. By all means, go with Beatty, Koets, and Boothe next season when the injury bug bites the older guys again. And you will be home for the playoffs again. Hopefully Gilbride will be around to blame. And because McKenzie has a good year this year he will most certainly have a good year next year. I do think the Cowboys need to revamp their line. Though a blown assignment by a backup full back, not the oline, was the main cause for Romo's injury.
  13. Yea...aging, dumbass. I didn't say old. Aging. Most of these jokers are over 30. I believe O'hara is like 33 and been around 11 years. Mckenzie will be 32 in May. I think Diehl/Seubter will be 31/32 by next season. I Snee/Andrews are still in their late 20's but I think its safe to say that when you are pushing 32/33 you are aging as far as an offensive lineman goes. Not old, but aging. I also think it's safe to say that, when you are aging, you are more prone to injury. Hence, that is why there top 5 guys were rarely playing together this season. If the Giants are smart, they address this aging line in the offseason. They certainly don't want Eli panicking under pressure and doing anymore left handed jump shots from the 5 yard line...
  14. Please allow me to simplify this convoluted thread: 1) The Giants have some undisciplined players who do not execute on both sides of the ball and who should be more consistent and should protect the ball better at this stage of their careers. 2) The Giants have a coaching staff that, for whatever reason, cannot get through to these players and correct the problems. 3) Add in an aging o-line and they're are too many issues to fix in 1 off season, assuming and this is a big "if", TC is the man for the job. 4) This makes Cowboys fans alll over the world happy.
  15. I do believe it is true that NO coach has won the Superbowl with 2 different teams. Cowher may be the man to do it. But the other side of the coin is that you may not get the same young hungry guy who put up all those numbers in Pitt. The Cowher who coaches again may be a different Cowher then the man who coached at Pitt. As far as Coughn goes, he is not great but he is not bad either. In my opinion, it is much harder to make the playoffs and win then it was years many ago. The teams are too evenly matched. So I don't think Coughlin deserves all the blame, especially finishing 10-6. But, by all means, lobby to have TC fired. Or, better yet, hire Cowher and Gruden and keep TC. Make a dream team coaching staff. Your overrated QB and load mouth running backs will still be giving games away...
  16. I'm hoping Jerry hires Garrett. I would rather have someone young and hungry instead of someone who has already won the Superbowl. I don't think the intensity is the same after you win one. The Giants had Bill Parcells, in my opinion everyone else after that had a shell of the Bill Parcells that coached the Giants. Also, I may be wrong, but I don't think the same coach has ever won a Superbowl with 2 different teams. Another reason I don't want Cowher or Gruden. Does that worry you Giants fans that want Tom out and Cowher or Gruden in? Can either one of these guys be the first coach to win it with 2 different teams. I believe 5 coaches have gone to the Superbowl with 2 different teams: Parcells, Shula, Vermeal, Dan Reeves, Holgrem. Then you got guys like Jimmy Johnson who could never get back, even with Marino. I think George Siefert won with SF, but couldn't do anything with Carolina. Shannahan is trying but I'm not overlly impressed by him. So you still want Gruden or Cowher? At least Gruden is young, but I don't know about Cowher. In fact, I don't want either one.
  17. Did Gilbride throws those picks? Go back to the Tenessee game when Eli tried to lob one in from 5 yards out, rather than just eating it. He shouldn't be making these types of mistakes at this juncture of his career. But, oh shucks, what can you do?
  18. I can't argue with this Jack. Though I do wonder what the verdict on Eli would be had Tyree not made that ridiculous catch and had the Pats held on.
  19. Good to see you Nas. I hope you are well. Three issues for me: 1) Cowboys left me...ummmm...speechless. 2) For some reason when I try to post it is really slow... AND MOST IMPORTANTLY 3) Some of my posts early in the season were removed even though I did not violate any rules... Not the same since Nemisis stepped down...
  20. The only thing more amusing then Vick running wild in the 4th is Giants fans debating whether Eli is any good at this stage of the game. It's not the scheme or the WRs. Eli is inconsistent and sometimes makes bad choices. A lot of QBs do this but... The Giants OVER PAID for an above average QB given what they could have drafted that year. They paid for a name and maybe it was a good marketing move, but he'll never be elite. Had Tyree not made that circus catch on Eli's blind hail mary -- that's what it was -- the NY media would be calling for his head. It may still happen...
  21. HA HA HA...Sorry, Jack. I have watched 2 Giants games this season, including last Sunday night, and I see a team that will limp into Cowboys stadium in a few weeks with its entire season hanging in the balance. And then it will get ugly.
  22. Unlike many of the masses here, I am not going to defend people who are unworthy of being defended. The entire Cowboys teams has underachieved. As far as the backs go, I have not seen enough to determine whether it's on them, on the o-line, or some combo of both.
  23. What am I missing? Don't you have to have steam to begin with to lose it? Actually, wasn't it Bradshaw that helped save that "super" season by going 80 or so yards against the Bills? I think you take Jacobs off the roster of that "superbowl team" and they still win the superbowl.
  24. I don't know about Cowher or Chucky, Jack. I don't think any coach has ever won a Superbowl with 2 different teams. He's not going to turn it around, but I am surprised you people are turning on Couglin so fast. Maybe he should resign that guy who caught the ball with his head. He may have been able to save Eli's basketball interception last week.
  25. Dog, why waste time of Jacobs. Most realize he is a fraud now and they will never admit you were right. Your time would be better spent analyzing the fraud that "plays" QB.
