  1. I'm not arguing with this. I think if the Cowboys want to be considered something more than an average team, they need to win at least 3 out of the last 4, starting with a win against a team fighting for their lives Sunday night. As far as I'm concerned, the Giants had their chance to proves themselves and already and failed. SF. NO. GB. And to some extent, Philly at home. A game you have to win. I'm not saying its impossible for the Giants to go on a run, but they have to do more than win Sunday night to convince me of anything. Right now, the measuring stick is SF, NO, GB. Not Dallas.
  2. That's a shame. I liked going to old Meadowlands. It was pretty accessible. I know season ticket holders that tell me its a nightmare getting in and out. That, in combo with the game being Jan 1, no brainer for me to stay home.
  3. An ESPN reporter has said that anyone who actually heard Ware live would have realized he was just messing around. What cracks me up about the pre-game talk in the NFL is that I think the fans get more riled up. I'll bet that many of these guys say shit and then end up having a beer together had a charity event in the offseason, while the message board fans continue to argue about it. But Giants stadium does look weird from the outside. That I can attest to personally. Haven't been in yet. Could have gone the last game of the year, but I passed the tickets up.
  4. I agree with much of what you say and think it can go eitherway. They are evenly matched and evenly flawed. I disagree in that I would give the Cowboys the slight edge. But I'm bias. But I feel this way based on some of the things you point out: I think Demarco Murray will give the Cowboys a slightly better run game and I think the Dallas defense will make one or two more plays or stops then the Giants defense. I don't expect either QB to lose the game for their team. I think they both play well.
  5. Sorry, but the Giants have not been robbed of anything this season. They have had the opportunity to play the 3 best teams in the NFC and they (1) fell short in a winnable game, which speaks more to the Giants' flaws then SF's strengths; (2) were embarassed on Monday night; and (3) gave up 38 points, including a pick 6. I have not looked at the so-called controversial call, because even if it was a bad call, Superbowl teams don't give up pick 6s, 38 points, and complain about offciating. Especially, given the season they have had. That, my friend, is pathetic. I stand by what I said: We know what the 2011 Giants are.
  6. Own the Cowboys? Actually, Jack, the Cowboys went into your bland edifice last season on like a 5 game losing streak, with a back-up QB that was 100 years old, and brand new head coach -- coaching his first game, and dismantled the Giants. In fact, the lights went out in the Meadowlands that night. Literally. And that was the last time the two teams played. I think the teams are evenly matched and Sunday night goes down to the wire. But there is also the chance that the wheels are going to fall off one of the two wagons and, if that happens, I'm betting it's yours.
  7. I love this question. There is ONE (1) Giants team in 2011. That team beats average to below average teams and loses to playoff contenders and sometimes to teams like Seattle. At home. Blame injuries. The defense. The coach. Or the refs if you will. But that's what the 2011 Giants are. And this game is not about what the Giants are. We know that already. It's about what the Cowboys are: Do the Cowboys have the killer instinct and ability to limit their mental mistakes and put away a mediocre team that has enough weapons to make you pay for your mistakes? Honestly, and I'm not saying this as a Cowboys fan or to rile anyone up, but honestly, this is not 2007 and the 2011 version of the Giants would probably get eaten up by that team. And, at this moment, I'm not saying the Cowboys are winning any Superbowls either. But, keeping it real, that's what this game is about.
  8. I like Cruz. I think we have a little more of a body of work on Austin so I can't wait to see what Cruz does next year. But I am a fan. He has been bailing my 2 fantasy teams out of trouble all year.
  9. Yes. I think the Giants WRs and Miles Austin are outstanding and would do well on most teams.
  10. Robbed. The Giants defense was robbed of their dignity. AGAIN. Robbed.
  11. Hmmmm...In my book a bet requires something to be given on both sides. Regardless, even if my offer was a "bet" there is only one thing worse than someone not honoring a "bet": It's the 12-year-old girl crying about it 4 years later. That's all I'll say on that.
  12. The fact of the matter is that I'm here pretty frequently in both Cowboys wins and losses. I tend to disappear when the Giants fulfill my predictions and jump the shark, which is usually the second half of the season. It is no fun being here when the Giants are eliminated from post season contention which means I'll probably only pop in1, maybe 2 more weeks. Nail in coffin # 2: Packers 37 Giants 23 There's part of me that wants to pick the Giants this week because of their history of rising to the occassion from time to time against a good team. But I think that's history. The 2011 Giants just don't have it in them. If you want an example of a typical 660 caller look no further then BigBlue and his fareweather antics. I think he should turn over his Osi jersey and cape, and formally make you the Superfan.
  13. I think an 8-8 team is painful. Period. And having a cake schedule in the second half of the season sometimes sets up disappointment and embarassing failure...Just ask Jim Fassel .
  14. You Giants fans are tough. Suh's dirty attitude and irresponsible antics could cost his team a playoff birth, or at the very least, a trip to Texas instead of a home game. The Giants couldn't compete on any level with the Saints. Tuck would have looked like a fool, similar to the way Brandon Jacobs looked with his endzone antics when he he narrowed the game to a mere 11.
  15. Exactly. Which is why I expected this place to be buzzing with activity. But its good to hear that most of you have the resolve to stick with your team.
  16. If I'm being honest, the Dog is better at what he does than Eli Manning.
  17. If I were a true vulture I would have been here everyday last week. I stopped by today because I figured you guys would be circling the wagons. It looks like most of the faithful have actually jumped ship...even though you have an elite QB.
  18. Nah...you're not looking to next year just yet. Never fear, they'll dangle a carrot this week or next. I think it will be another friend from the NFC East officially lowering the boom this season.
  19. I could honestly see them winning one of the next two and if it results in Superfan putting the tights and cape back on I'm all for it. Afterall, Gotham City just isnt the same without him.
  20. Did everyone abandon ship with BigBlue? I thought this was the night that the elite QB turned the tides.
  21. Sorry Joe, but the plan is different this Holiday season. Here it is: 1) Demarco Murray continues to give Romo something he has never really had: a legitimate running game. 2) The Cowboys win a couple they should win, get a little lucky along the way, and go to the Superbowl. 3) In the 4th quarter of a tight Superbowl game, Jessie Holley catches an desperate, errant Romo pass with his facemask, setting up the game winning score. 4) Holley disappears in the offseason and is never heard from again. 5) Cowboy nation declares Romo "elite", throws a parade and a message board lovefest, and blames the offensive coordinator and the WR for every errant future throw. Sound good? I am quite comfortable with this plan because it is a proven blueprint for success.
  22. Balanced? You'd probably feel a lot better about the Coughlin era if they beat more good teams, whether they appeared in the first half of the season or the second half. In fact, you'd probably feel better if they actually won playoff games aside from the miracle run, helmed by the dearly departed Spagola and Strahan. And I must be God, because as far as the rest of the season goes, at best it's one and done. Most likely -- watching the Cowboy games in January. Official nail in the coffin # 1: New Orleans 34 Giants 17
  23. Eli deserves just as much credit for the loss as anyone else. Two weeks in a row, the ball was in his hands at the end of the game... And both times, these awful WR's whom most NFL commentators and coaches seem to think are pretty good, NEVER HAD AN OPPORTUNITY to make a play because their QB couldn't deliver the ball. Last week, it was deflected. Few QB's have had more deflections (one cost them the game in Washington earlier this year) than Eli. Last night, he fumbled. Forget about the o-line. At that stage of the game, with that much time on the clock, you need to protect the ball and live to fight another play. And the interceptions the last 2 weeks -- God awful. Eli is not bad QB by any means. But why everyone wants to pamper this guy is beyond me. He's been in the league what? Eight years? Time to take the diaper off...
