  1. It's just something that came to mind with both of them in their current surroundings.
  2. If you could swap Mc Nabb for Eli straight up, would you?
  3. The decision that made Bellichek suddenly a superstar coach was not bringing back Bledsoe as a starter when he got healthy and leaving the job to Brady. And it's gone from there. Not only is Brady a great Qb, but he's a fantastic leader and everyone, and I mean everyone loves playing with the guy. You cannot measure how important that is. I still think that Bellichek is a decent coach, not great. He was mediocre in Cleveland, and for all the shit Parcells gets, it was him who brought him back to the Jets when nobody was interested in him and it was from there that he got the interest from the Pats. And he's got a great situation for up there, because Scott Pioli could be the best GM out there. Look at this season, Welker for virtually nothing, Moss for a 4th?. Adalius Thomas and Stallworth?. And to make matters worse they draft excellent each year. Bellichek is in a great situation up there.
  4. He says a lot of off the cuff things, maybe he should say shut up a little more. If the players were talking like this it would be considered a crime like last year. It's one thing for the media and fans to say Eli is skittish, it's a whole lot worse to say it if you're the GM. He doesn't talk often, but when he does Reese always seems to mix it up with some dumb remark.
  5. I'm a Fassel supporter, but when he predicted that they would make the playoffs and then they go make the Superbowl, that's the kind of cohones remark that the New York Media sucks life from. By the way, if Eli throws that ball directly to Shockey like he should have, then Shockey walks to the end zone and it's 27-17. That would have been a good call, it simply wasn't executed.
  6. Coughlin didn't fuck up that game on Sunday, his players did. He's not the best coach in the world, but fair is fair. If Eli was playing in New England and threw those passes, nothing would be said about Bellichek, even leaving him in late wouldn't be questioned. This is just a shot at Coughlin plain and simple. Coughlin didn't throw those passes and Eli is a big boy now, he needs to shoulder the responsibility for this, which is where O'Connor should have placed it. Pile of Rubbish.
  7. I'd hold off. I think the Cowboys are going to whup them. I'd out a few bucks on Rex Grossman and the Bears against whoever this weekend.
  8. If Dallas beats them on Thursday and the Colts win on the weekend, next weeks rankings will have the Colts over the Packers, good d or not.
  9. In light of what happened Sunday, 10 is generous. But the Packers are not better than the Colts.
  10. Accorsi says in his book that when Eli was drafted, Collins barged into his office and demanded to be released. It wouldn't have mattered which QB was drafted. And this was with Collins slated to be the starter that year. When Warner was brought in, it was to be the QB for at least that year, possibly more. I do disagree with Fish on the way Warner was pulled, but we've had this argument before.
  11. Tavaris is 5-2 as a starter, he may be a scrub QB, but he's doing something right. I was talking about our interior defensive linemen playing well, not the offensive line, I've already acknowledged the o-line was poor, and I was extremely disappointed in how they gave up towards the end of the game and Eli became fair game. He could have gotten badly hurt, (then some people here would be happy with Fat Lorenzen as the starter). We're not going to agree on the preparation issue, all I can say is that if Eli doesn't throw 4 int's and our receivers actually didn't drop passes, then we're not talking about preparation, we're talking about how we're 8-3.
  12. I don't subscribe to the "BadEgg just likes to provoke the Giants fans". I know you're having fun. But this is one of the dumbest things I've read.
  13. We let their running backs look good?. Wow, they must have sucked royally coming into the game if that's the case.
  14. Nesta, it's one thing to say that after game one, this is game eleven. This team didn't just take the field yesterday. Interceptions and dropped passes and blown blocking are poor execution, if we had done that the game would have been a lot lot different obviously, and suddenly everyone would be talking about how good the game plan was. I'm not blind, Gilbride is no genius, I've said that just last week, but he can't throw the ball for them. The front line played as well as they've done all year, in fact our interior linemen may have played their best game.
  15. Please note, I suggested at the beginning of the season that Collins might be a good pickup for backup. (however based on info from "THE GM", that wasn't going to happen. I can't summarize this mess today like usual. By midway during the 3rd quarter I was numb. I felt the defense was fine, 21 points from int's returned, one TD given up because a int was returned to the 5, one TD was a hopeful bomb. Cofield and Robbins stepped it up today and Osi and Strahan were fine. Overall, this game wasn't on the D. Apart from Tynes's once a game fuck up, it wasn't on the special teams either. Tynes hit his longest of the season, punting was fine, punt coverage was fine and even had the hit of the day. This was clearly on the offense: 2 things first, I've seen some shit here about the team being unprepared. Fuck that nonsense, when the Giants got back to 7-7, everyone here including myself were thinking, okay now the bad stuff is over we are going to win. We weren't unprepared for the opening drive so how the fuck can you say we were unprepared for every other one. We simply didn't execute. Eli sucked balls, but he got little help. Jacobs being out of this game really hurt, because he could have carved out a running game against that front line and kept them honest, but Droughans couldn't. I guarentee you that even if that game had been close that the Giants would have closed the book on the running game, because that's what we do. I see all those who bitched about Plax and Shock throwing their hands up last year are saying jack shit about Amani doing it in this game and actually checking out of the game mentally in the first half. Plus all these fucking false start calls on Eli'shard counts are simply indisclipline by the offensive line, it's geard to get the defense to jump. The only thing I can say about Eli is that last week he wasn't the biggest bust in our history, but today he is. We should all have our lives judged on just one day. And even with his 4 int's today, he still doesn't lead the Manning household this year! For those who said the whole offense sucked today, no offense but what exactly did Plaxico do wrong, Seriously? I won't go after Coughlin, again saying they were unprepared is silly, the defense was prepared, special teams were ready, the offense stunk and it was the players that did it, nothing else.
  16. Well he's gone now. Can you say Fabio Capello perhaps, or the Special one?? On a side note, read this today, Luton Town goes into admin. That's too bad considering that back in the 80's they had a good side.
  17. I'll be honest, it's a big worry for me. Kiwi shouldn't be playing linebacker, Any good Giants team in the past has had a backbone of fine linebackers. I'd keep Mitchell also.
  18. You have a way of putting it don't you smart ass. You're probably right about that, but keep in mind that I try and put our past linebacker issues out of my mind, because I simply get too wound up thinking about how we refuse to address it through the draft. Oh I'm sorry, we did, Zak DeOssie!!
  19. Fuck the stats, Simms is Eli's measuring stick.
  20. Fish, Torbor was never going to start over Emmons as long as Emmons was healthy. The Giants always kept Emmons in because they held out hope for the fact "he'll play like he did with the Eagles". Short played out of his skin and had a ton of experience which makes the fact they didn't bring him back kind of wrong. I think Torbor is the best option right now, he may not be the solution, he's just the best now. And to Jerry Reese, please, please, please draft a linebacker in rounds 1 or 2 next year for goodness sake.
  21. Blackburn is an energy guy and he plays with a lot of effort so he's good to spell guys a la Frankie Ferrara, but he's not starter material at all. I think he should be in on a few snaps each game.
