  1. I hope so. My boy Jeff Samardzjia is the best possession reciever in college and I pray somehow the Giants will get him but they will be looking for a RB first and they need so much on defense but Jeff is a great wide receiver and should go in the top 10. IMMHO of course.
  2. I was sick watching that game last night. Extremely bad coaching job and as bad as we played we were only down by 7 or 10. Then we start moving the ball and Plex can't hold onto what would have been a great catch and then Carter catches one and puts the ball on the ground. I was one who was very unhappy with deal we got 2 years ago not because we got Eli becuase eventually he will be a great one. But more because we were fine with either Big Ben or Rivers and we don't lose all those players which is showing up now. Also Arrington may be a great player but will he ever play a full season again?
  3. Hey Ragin, I listened coming back from the mountains. That was one sick game. Now they still have to play at West Virginia for probably the Big East title and a chance for a BCS game.
  4. Overrated? How about USC and West Virginia? I knew Auburn was overrated and The Razorbacks proved me right. ND will beat USC and finish up with 1 loss. Michigan will beat OSU. Mark it down.
  5. Oh so let's see we'll win our is it 9th eastern title in a row? And the one time World Champions (not to be confused with the 26 time World Champions) will be where come October? Couldn't happen to a nicer bunch of: choose 1. A. PLayers B. Fans C. Yankee wannabees
  6. Jeter is the best all around player in the game. I believe when he swung at that 3-0 pitch it was because he figured that was the best pitch he was gonna see. And he was trying to help his team. I believe his point is/was that if you do all you can do to help your team win then the individual stats will come.
  7. Look I don't hate the Mets. If they are in the WS against anyone but the Yanks, I'll root for them. But please don't get silly with attendance numbers. Last few years the Yankees have drawn around 4 million fans annually. Last year was well over 4 million and broke the record, this years is similar.
  8. VG, if anything we beat ourselves and you can't do that against a very good team. Last week Notre Dame had 11 penalties and barely beat a pretty good Georgia Tech team. This week they played nearly a flawless game and housed Penn State a better team. The Giants should have won last night so that is the good news that they know they can defeat a team as good as the Colts. We'll see how e do againt the Egirls next week.
  9. I really think I would love a playoff but ESPN was drinking funny Kool Aid. ND will be a much better team than last year. They return 17 starters and Rheema McKnight is back to give Quinn an unbelievable tandam with Jeff Samardjia (SP?) They were a little soft on D last year but that has improved. We'll see how much at Georgia Tech Sat night. OSU lost so much on defense that it is hard for me to believe they can win it all. Texas and USC also lost way too much for them to repeat. Who's the darkhorses?
  10. Since I was in the midwest for nearly 30 years I haven't been to Giants Stadium but 4-5 times since I left but I saw every Bears Giants game in Soldier field. I have been a fan for over 50 years and had my seats on the 45 yeard line row 21. on the visitors side. Don't recall the section but I went to the Polo Grounds to Yale and wherever to see my boys play. Some of you may remember that the team practiced at Fordham my 4 years of school. What a thrill to come into breakfast and lunch and the entire team would be around 6-7 tables.
  11. You know the Mets are leading by 15 games but only are 1 game better - wins losses than the Yanks. Red Sux are 15-2 in interleague play and they are less than .500 against the American League. Says something about the talent level in both leagues IMO
  12. As Phil Rizzuto would have said "Holy Cow" and only God knows what else. The yankees last swept Boston there the year I was born, 1943. Flippin Amazing. There have to be suicidal fans in Boston and some may rightfully be screaming for Francona's head. Whay wait to bring in Papalbon last night. I recall Torre doing the same thing to MO and I was going nuts. Oh well it couldn't happen to a better team. Imagine when Sheff and Matsui comeback? Where do the play? Abreeu is big time and Melky has proved himself a major league player. What a problem. Now if we only had the same problem with our pitchers although Pavano may be back yet.
  13. 8th Inning 2-1 Yanks. Willy Mo Pena socks one over the right field wall.
  14. I work from home so I have seen a little bit. I did see Green run over Cano to drop the pop up. Geez Little League anyone?
  15. Not much to argue VG. Shockey certainly has the potential to be #1. We'll have to see.
  16. I have to admit it doesn't bother me one bit because when I listen on the radio I simply want to be entertained.
  17. DJ epitomizes the Yankee greats of old. Selfless, phenomenal and the best damn player out there.
  18. I really love the kid Ditto, but he really hasn't shown that he could handle Major League pitching.
  19. Joe Torre who rarely gets much credit for the job he does, has done a masterful job of keeping us close through several devastating injuries. With Hidekei and Sheff we lost 2 guys who had over 200 RBIs last year. Let's see if the Dred Sucks can do as well with Nixon and Varitek,
  20. Monty many of us are die hard Jints fans who bleed Giants' blue. When the Giants Board did away with their politcal section many of us who love that sort of thing came here. We are still crazy fans. I have been a fan for over 50 years. Wait til we get closer to the season.
  21. So now what do you say Ditto? Lidle tossed 6 very strong innings and his second half stats are signicantly better than his 1st half. Abreu fits right in and whether or not Sheff comes back (he said he'd play 1st base) doesn't really matter. Abreu is a solid replacement for him. What a lineup we have and with Varitek and Nixon out, we have a solid chance of getting some distance between us and the dred sox.
  22. The Rams will have all of their entire Junior class back next years and should be solid with Dunston a first team all A 10 pick. They have 2 freshman who are bonafide point gurds who can shoot 3s so it should be an intersting season. Tough opener at Tennessee in the pre season NIT.
  23. Ditto, I love melky. I think in 2 years his power numbers are up and he starts in Left. I'm not sure about Hideki though. Sheff only wants to play another year or 2 so I don't see that as a problem.
  24. Ditto, anyone who doesn't know how to wear his hat is a suspect player in my book.. Chacon always looked stupid. This was a solid trade for us although I would have liked to see Phillips get more of a shot.
  25. Hey VG, thanks for the info but Rivals.com is ridiculous. I don't agree with anyone having OSU at #1 but OK, I can live with that but leaving ND out of the top 10? Are they serious? If OSU can get by Texas at Texas than I'll start to believe but their defense got decimated and half of them were Round 1 NFL picks so they will not replace them easily. ND brings back 17 starters and most of their 2nd stringers got alot of playing time last year. Should be interesting.
