  1. That's it... I'm drafting Hixon #1 overall in my fantasy draft.
  2. Considering his old man's history with the team it's probably a really bad idea. I wish him all the success in the world though. He might be a decent QB if he played for someone other than Gruden.
  3. I have a funny feeling that the wheels may come off the Cowboy's Super Bowl Bus this year. There's a toxic combination on that team that I don't have confidence can be righted if they start off slow. 1. Volatile Players. T.O? Tank Johnson? Pac-Man Jones? Hell, Patrick Crayton (got a big mouth towards the end of last year)? Should the Cowgirls start out 1-3, how do those clowns react? 2. A weak head coach. "Players Coach" is NFLese for "big softie." I'm not sure there's anyone on the Dallas coaching staff that invokes the fear of God... certainly not Wade Phillips. If there's a bad start to the season, Phillips and Garrett aren't gonna be able to reign in the above listed players and keep them from shooting their mouths off. 3. First-place schedule. Always complicates things. 4. Sky-high expectations. Remember when it was "Super Bowl or Bust" for the Giants? We finished 4-12. Similarly, everyone is picking the Cowgirls to win the Super Bowl... and they haven't played a single snap yet. Worse yet, reports outta Dallas have the team and coach believing their own hype. I'm gonna settle on 10-6 for Dallas and a wild-card berth... with meltdowns all along the way.
  4. That's actually a really good point. We forget a lot about the success Coughlin had in Jacksonville... and he remained mostly successful until the injury bug struck for three consecutive seasons. If Cough wins another one I'd have to day that vaults him to the top in the NFC.
  5. Holmgren is pretty good, Coughlin is pretty good, and Gruden is a good coach (even though I can't stand him... too concerned with making stupid faces on the sideline).
  6. We are season ticket holders. Some guy there said to mail the Giants and let them know that, and we might be able to get a VIP pass that way.
  7. THAT, my friend is the question. The only answer I got was "you have to know someone." :brooding:
  8. ...the only way this coulda been sweeter would have been if Scarlett Johansen had blown me at halftime. (Okay, okay... if ANYBODY had blown me at halftime)
  9. So I woke up at 6:45 today... mom and dad stayed at my house last night... except I wasn't actually "waking up" because I didn't sleep all night. Well anyways, I drove all the way to Albany... only to find... practice had moved indoors, and you couldn't get in unless you were "V.I.P." Now I feel like poop.
  10. Well... scratch Olivea off the list. :brooding:
  11. I'm hearing Koets (last year's only draft dud) has really turned it on this year. Also, I tought Olivea was going to be a backup for either McKenzie or Diehl... isn't Olivea a tackle? Whimper has been mostly quiet, but I thought he looked decent filling in for DD in limited action last year. Doesn't Reugamer back up both center and guard? Overall, I actually think we're in better shape this year than last. I like how we're looking.
  12. There's always a trendy pick every year for a "worst-to-first" turnaround... I don't know how many times THIS has been the year the Lions will "turn the corner." Who do you think will make the playoffs of the bottom-feeders?
  13. I turned my old Barber jersey into a Kenny Phillips one. It's ghettoriffic!
  14. And THAT guy (Adam Koets) is drawing rave reviews in THIS camp.
  15. I think the fact that he actually IS injured is what's keeping him from getting a new deal. If he comes out healthy and has 300+ yards and 3 TDs by week 3, look for a new contract to get done real quick.

The fact that nobody has heard about this at all until now and kickoff is... what... tomorrow... kinda tells you all you need to know.
  17. I was thinking about that too. I just like the way that guy plays. You can always get 'em custom made.
  18. Sorry if this was brought up already, but after watching the Giants victories leading up to the Superbowl, something struck me: there was GREAT officiating in pretty much all five games of the DVD set. There were a few calls that perhaps could have gone either way, but overall, there weren't any BLATANTLY bad calls and/or judgement calls that were out of line. For the most part, they let the teams play, and penalized them only when neccessary. Here's to good officiating.
  19. lol... wish I could take credit for the nut hug... but someone posted it in GD during the last Favre circus... remember when he was going to the Super Bowl to play Tom Brady in the biggest game ever?
  20. Officially put me in the "worried" column. The fact that he hasn't gotten a new contract done either is a little alarming... no team wants to sign a guy with injury issues. :/
  21. I drove all the way to Orleans VT to watch the first preseason game with my parents... and it's not fucking on. What the fuck?
  22. Also... what does this do for all the Jets/Pats matchups this year? It at least makes 'em worth watching.
