  1. Moss is going to be our #4 receiver this year.
  2. Danny Ware reminds me a LOT of Ryan Grant. And I don't think it's just because they both wear the same number. If you watch them run, they're both more or less slashers with good size and decent speed. VISION is the one thing that all elite backs have, and I think Bradshaw has that in spades... not quite sure that Ware's got it yet. And fuck his size... Bradshaw is a tough runner and has deceptive power (he dragged Ty Warren eight or so yards in the Super Bowl, for fuck's sake). I think Ahmad will emerge as Jacob's backup this year, with Brown serving as the number one guy off the bench should an injury to either back occur.
  3. I'll bet he's out with a Whimper this year. :/
  4. So it's official... Sheridan will be the greatest coordinator in the Giants storied history! Did he? I can remember a few instances of seeing Mike Strahan dropping SURE ints... but I remember a LOT more times when a game would go by and I'd be yelling, "Do you even KNOW what a blitz is, Lewis?!?!?!?" Remember when we drafted all those LB/DE "tweeners" for Lewis' "exotic blitz schemes" that involved... rushing four down linemen? Ugh. I hated that guy.
  5. This guy really does have a pretty inspiring story.
  6. That has me worried too... but I downloaded his interview from Giants.com and aside from that, I think the "sky is falling" scenarios are a little far-fetched. He wants to "minimally" change the defense... a few "tweaks," but that's it. He wants to still dial up a lotta blitzes, but doesn't like zone blitzes as a DL in space isn't playing to his strengths... would prefer LB and secondary blitzes. His scheme will remain an "attacking" scheme that is largely the same as Spags.' He is excited about the personnel rotation that will happen with Canty and Bernard on board.
  7. Can't wait to see what they say about our two receivers.
  8. I'd feel good about this either way. If we get Edwards, it can potentially be a Plax headache all over again (Prima Donna syndrome, not shooting himself in the leg). Yet, if he puts it all together, he can be a HUGE piece to the Giants puzzle to get us back to the playoffs.. and would we only get him for one year... what are the contract issues? Let's not forget how quickly the fans turn on WRs and TEs with dropsies... Mark Jackson, Jeremy Shockey, et. al. have been BOOED more than a few times at Giants stadium after big drops. If not... I honestly like the potential of Manningham, Ware, and whoever we'd get in the third. Ware is a UFA after this season, let's not forget... so that's a push with Edwards. Everyone is raving about Manningham in the offseason, so there's potential there as well. I'd love Edwards for that price, but if we don't get him I'm fine with these guys too. It's a great time to be a Giants fan.
  9. No, that's what I'm saying. Strictly depth, and if he happens to surprise, then bonus. Give him something close to the vet minimum.
  10. The Bengals cut Levi Jones today... I know he's been injured the past two seasons, but he's a Pro Bowl left tackle and has only been in the league for seven years. Do we make him an offer for some depth on the line and to act as a mentor to Beatty?
  11. Nah they're trying to say he pushes off a lot
  12. Wow... maybe he really IS a good replacement for Plax.
  13. The only time I can remember Pierce being REALLY burned last year was by Brian Westbrook. And honestly... what linebacker DOESN'T get burned by Brian Westbrook? Brian Urlacher is the best cover MLB in the game and he wouldn't have a prayer keeping up with Westy.
  14. Here's my spin: Dallas: I don't care what anybody says, Tony Romo is a good QB. If Butterfingers Crayton catches that pass in the 3rd qtr against us two years ago in the playoffs, we're likely talking about the Super Bowl Champion Dallas Cowboys. Witten, Barber, Jones, Williams, etc. still keeps this team dangerous, and on defense they've still got Terrence Newman and DeMarcus Ware. I see a 10-6 season for 'em, give or take. Bad coaching kills 'em down the stretch, but they'll stay competitive without T.O. being in the locker room. Philly: The O-line will be the key here. If Peter and Andrews turn out to be legit, they'll be in very good shape. If they play poorly, McNabb is on injured reserve by week 9. Westbrook has lost a step, but their rookie replacement for him should do just fine. Still a tough D, and how the hell has Jim Johnson NOT been a head coaching candidate for the past eight years? Maclin will quickly become a go to guy, and that little jitterbug receiver from last year (forget his name) will be a terror in the slot. Hard for me to predict their record, but if McNabb stays upright I'll give em 11-5. Redskins: Once again, the Redskins will suffer from poor management. They WAY overpaid for Haynesworth, who (I'm calling it now) shows up fat and outta shape for the regular season. I see him finishing with 6 sacks... Jason Campbell has done nothing to show me he can get it done at the NFL level, and if they didn't have Clinton Portis last year they would have finished 6-10. No receivers to speak of, no O-line... they're in some serious trouble. Good thing for them they already have their QB of the future on the roster... Colt Brennan. The D will be solid, not great. I'll give them 6-10. Giants: The Giants are more or less solid from top to bottom, but have two glaring weaknesses that could kill them... that being said, I doubt either will. It's amazing that Lawrence Tynes hasn't cost them a game at this point... the guy just flat-out sucks, I don't care about the Green Bay game from two years ago (that game wouldn't have gone to overtime if he didn't miss TWO kicks before he made the winner... the guy was about to be Jay Feely all over again). Kicker looks to once again be a weakness on the team, and we need SOMEBODY to step up at the WR spot and get it done. Hixon, Smith, or Nicks might emerge as that guy, but it looks to be a sore spot for a big chunk of the year. The shameuful thing is that it really shouldn't matter who are WRs are with our line and running game, but Gilbride doesn't seem to realize that and is in love with the pass. I have us finishing 11-5 and possibly winning the division again. And one last thing... if the Skins overpaid for Haynesworth, then the Giants overpaid for Canty as well. He's not worth more than Justin Tuck, and I can't see him finishing with more than 6 sacks either this year.
  15. Except for the Sintim thing, which is a push, that all sounds bad. I hope the talent of our D can make up for what seems like a MUCH less innovative scheme. Or, let's hope this is all just a smokescreen.
  16. ...but he'll probably show up two hours late.
  17. "When you think of garbage, think of Hakeem!"
  18. I'm really excited about this pick. Don't know why, just have a really good feeling about it.
  19. LOL I knew it! It's on!
  20. Nah, he's actually going to be our #4 or better WR. Heck, he might be #1 on opening day! Just ask Tree!
  21. Had to edit... you know... for when Sinorice Moss takes the world by storm, starts as our #1 and catches 100 passes for 1600 yards and 12 TDs.
  22. I'll bet you he's #4 or better. It's on then?
  23. I'm calling it now, Tree! You're gonna eat your words! I'm so sure of it... I'll bet you a dollar.
