  1. I could maybe see him as a Marvin Harrison type... a bit undersized but with speed and hands... but you just never know with WRs what you're gonna get.
  2. I don't want any receiver with the word "breast" in their name. Just seems kinda swishy.
  3. That makes two of us. When the Giants signed Terrell Buckley off the street to start vs. the Panthers in the playoffs a few years back instead of playing Web, I thought he had "bust" written all over him. Boy, was I wrong.
  4. Umm... aren't we just ONE year removed from having the MOST drops of any NFL team? I say no. I'd give a third for him.
  5. QB/RB/WR - Frank Gifford K - Matt Bahr (the definition of clutch) or maybe Pat Summerall? QB - let the discussion begin. I'd have to go with Simms, but Y.A. Tittle was supposed to be great in his time.
  6. Uh... are you all out of your minds? NO to Crotcho Stinko.
  7. Who's available out there? Houshmanzadeh? Bobby Engram? Shaun McDonald? Slim pickins.
  8. Outside of Wilkinson and Moss, I'm really not disappointed with anyone.
  9. I wouldn't take Shockey back if he paid the team 15 million dollars. We "missed his production and emotion?" Boss doubled Shock's production this year and we got all the "emotion" we needed outta Plax Burress for the season. Plus, there's reports out of New Orleans that the locker room hates Shockey and he's worn out his welcome already... we definitely got the better end of the deal. I'd love to have Jesse Armstead. If you want fire, emotion, and passion AND clutch plays, he's your guy.
  10. I knew Kiper was shit WAYYY back in the 90's when Tampa Bay drafted Trent Dilfer. The Colts passed on Dilfer cuz they had just signed Jim Harbaugh and didn't think Dilfer was going to pan out as a pro. Kiper went apeshit. "Oh, the Colts are REALLY going to regret not getting Dilfer. This guy has a cannon for an arm, smarts, and the savvy to be a perennial Pro Bowler for years to come. If they think Jim Harbaugh is going to get it done for them, they're in for a rude awakening." Well, all Harbaugh did was lead the Colts to the AFC championship game that year... a game that they would have won if their butter-fingered receiver didn't drop the Hail Mary pass in the endzone on the final play of regulation... and behind the running of some guy named Marshall Faulk, who they picked over Trent Dilfer (yeah, they picked Trev Alberts too, but whatever). Harbaugh was comeback player of the year and made the Pro Bowl. Trent Dilfer? He made a pretty good backup.
  11. Deion Sanders would. He'll support any asshole. Birds of a feather...
  12. I am VERY happy with this pick. Knows the system, the players already know/like him, and he's a LB coach not a DB coach.
  13. I'd be glad to see Gilbride go... but after the disasters that were Huffnagle and Gilbride as OCs, I don't have a lot of confidence in TC to pick a good offensive coordinator.
  14. You know, it's funny... I'm not sure if it was the fact that Tim Lewis sucked so much ass while he was here... or if it was the Eagles connection or just intuition, but we were ALL excited when Spags came to the Giants two seasons ago. Somehow, we all knew he was gonna be a top-notch DC. After the first minicamp, players were already raving about the guy. All of us jumped on the bandwagon and suddenly... the 8-8 Giants had hope. We were going to have an innovative, attacking defense that would actually make use of all the D-linemen and "tweener" backers we had drafted that Lewis had misused. Those first two games sucked... and some of us were off the bandwagon... but by midseason, it was obvious we had something special going on. Spags made stars out of guys like Corey Webster, Justin Tuck, and Fred Robbins... high picks that hadn't really ever panned out, and it brought us all the way to the Super Bowl. None of us are kidding ourselves; for all of Eli's heroics, it was the D-line putting Tom Brady on his ass two dozen times that won the game for us. Well, it was a fun ride. I wish him good luck, but he's REALLY going to be missed here in NY. :bye:
  15. I hope so too. That's why it's so important that we don't make a secondaries coach the new DC. Dom Capers sucks. Johnnie Lynn sucked. Tim Lewis fucking SUCKED. We need a LB coach as DC... Spags was one, Dungy was one, and Lovie Smith was one. LB coaches for one reason or another make good DCs.
  16. Maybe he should be more concerned with winning playoff games instead of making funny faces on the sideline.
  17. My sentiments exactly. We peaked at the wrong time and played poorly down the stretch, our OC is a fucking moron, and Philly has caught fire. We still beat ourselves more than Philly beat us, though. All the reasons why we lost are the game are correctable, so long as we keep the nucleus of the team in place.
  18. I hate to say it... but Gilbride is staying unless he gets the Raiders job. When you're a year removed from a Super Bowl victory with a top-ten offense and a team who was the first seed... AND you're buddies with the head coach... you're keeping your job, no matter how bad a playcaller you are. I'd LOVE to see him in Oakland, but otherwise, we're stuck with him. We either need a top-flight receiver, Plax Burress back or a young guy to really step it up. I love Toomer but I think his best days are definitely behind him. I think Moss might be a decent slot receiver if given the chance. Keeping Jacobs is imperative. Using him in games like yesterday's is even more so. Call me crazy, but I wouldn't mind seeing us draft a developmental MLB to eventually replace Pierce. The guy is as smart as they come but seems to be losing a step, and it's a step he never really had in the first place. The linebacking corp overall could use an infusion of talent. Aside from that, we're not in bad shape. I mean, c'mon... we played the toughest schedule in the NFL, and the second half of the season was just brutal. We probably were a little worn out aside from being rusty and playing badly. If we play our cards right this team will still be competitive for the forseeable future... even the Pats lost out after their first Super Bowl.
