No one said 50/50 in Mac's offense. What I want is our offense not having to be in the 11 personnel on 95% of the snaps. I want to make sure we can blow a DL off the ball when needed and I don't see him at 230lbs being able to do that to an NFL DE when he's put in that situation to help our piss poor run blocking OL. And seeing as how this keeps being lost on everyone I talk to I'll state it again... I hope to God he proves me wrong for the next 15 years. I hope he's OROY. And when Marshall retires I hope he can transition into his role seemlessly and help the next QB become greater than Eli.

Again... I see the upside to giving Eli another weapon. Especially one as versatile as Engram is. I just have a major issue with drafting another tweener or one dimensional player when a more complete player at that same position is within reach and we made no effort to try and get him. That being said... I hope Engram goes out and wins OROY after putting up a 1000 yard 10 TD season and helping us with Super Bowl number 5. He's in Blue now... why would I wish failure on him?

That has way more to do with Chicago's gm allowing himself to haggled than just that being the going "price" for the trade. Plus we're talking a top 3 pick vs 23->18. Again... what's the problem with inquiring?

23 to 18 should not have broken the bank, but we'll never know because Reese didn't even try... and he admitted to that.

Aside from the Travis Beckum comparison I made my biggest issue is OJ Howard fell all the way to 19 and Reese already came out and said they made no attempt to trade up and grab him. Howard is the prototypical old-style 2-way TE and he went literally 4 picks ahead of us with NO ATTEMPT OR EFFORT AT ALL from our gm to go and get him. I don't understand this at all. The second he fell to 15 I would've been on the phone.

That's pretty much how it is. When I did that Reese write-up prior to last offseason I went through each individual player and found when they were last on an NFL roster and that was where I made the cutoff. So if a guy last played in 2013 but hadn't retired yet I had "Out of NFL Since 2013".

The biggest issue is Beckham and Collins will be free agents at the same time. The one positive (strictly from a financial standpoint) is that iirc Eli will be off the books at that point.
