  1. It might be a necessity on March 12, 2017, but it's become a necessity because of our unwillingness to move Flowers prior to this. That comes from him being selected 9th or 11th overall (I can't remember which) and Reese not wanting to admit that his pick wasn't as good as he'd hoped it'd be. I will continue to go back to Flaherty basically getting run out of town in favor of Flowers. So not only will we not move him, but we've fired people FOR him.
  2. So keeping a walking turnstile protecting our 2-time Super Bowl MVP QB's blindside makes sense? I'm not questioning the Pugh move. I'm questioning Reese's undying loyalty to Flowers being our LT when he's showing he isn't ready.
  3. I distinctly remember "Versatility" talk about Pugh cause he could play all 5 positions on the line, but that still doesn't change the fact Pugh while playing infinitely better wasn't afforded the same "Reese Seal of Approval" that Newhouse 2.0 has received.
  4. I get the "calm down" notion, but Reese has had months to take care of our cap situation and made it worse by slapping JPP with the tag. The fact is that we have MAYBE $3-4M in cap space left with 3 legitimate holes on the OL, A gaping hole at MLB (Robinson is a FA) and iirc only 2 RBs on the roster. Now I know we don't know what's going on behind closed doors, but with McAdoo coming out with bullshit remarks like he did at the Combine it really looks like Reese doesn't want to admit he blew it with Flowers and wants to force him into the LT spot regardless of what it costs us... which is mind-boggling as Pugh was drafted as a OT and 2 years later he's starting at LG.
  5. Wondering what the market is for Reiff. I've heard his name thrown around but I don't really know anything about him.
  6. Can't make a move there until tomorrow at 4 at the earliest, but according to McAdoo... the OL is fine and Eli just needs to play better. >_>
  7. Fwiw... the entire D's sack totals were down at the start of the season as they were trying to gel so JPP's sack number being unimpressive makes sense. That being said... I'm MUCH more concerned with bringing Hankins back than JPP.
  8. Imo the only thing that should've caused a problem was the multiple flights. That being said... losing DRC, getting lax on defense before the end of the 1st half (allowing them to take momentum), the OL being the OL, not being able to establish a running game, Trevin Wade being exposed again, the offense becoming completely stale after the first few drives, and Eli having about 200 passes batted down at the line also had a lot to do with why we lost as well.
  9. Credit where it's due. The defense has been well worth the money and draft focus, but he's far from done. Scoring <20 agame is not a good recipe for success. We've been fortunate that our defense has bailed us out. 10-4 could just as easily be 4-10. This offseason needs to be heavily focused on the offense... particularly the OL and finding capable TEs.
  10. Admittedly I did because he was getting torched in preseason and at the start of the reg season.
  11. It shouldn't. By the time he's ready for a new contract Eli's should be off the books.
  12. Happy to admit that I was wrong about him. I was killing this guy early in the season, but after Collins in my mind he's been our best defender.
  13. And when none of those happen we will be left bitching about Reese for another year.
  14. The running game issues are a combo of the OL, piss poor blocking from the TEs, no FB and McAdoo calling/Eli Audibling to that stupid shotgun draw. This is the reason we have only 27 more rushing yards than penalty yards this season and our offense as a whole being stagnant and predictable.
  15. We aren't playing backup DL's like we were in Dallas.
  16. Fwiw Shockey's first 3 years were anything but stable. We went from 10-6 to Collins getting injured and a 4-12 season to Warner/Eli. Then Plax came in 05 and the passing game began to go through him/Barber.
  17. That can't be. DRC signed before the 2014 season. Bennett left after 2012. Reese didn't want to "overpay" for a TE and got blinded by Myers' garbage time stats in Oakland.
  18. Eli was much better with TEs until Bennett left. Now maybe that's because every TE since has sucked beyond imagination, but guys like Boss and Shockey were very good and Ballard was at least serviceable. Pascoe was a blocking TE and I'd kill for one of those today.
  19. I'd go finding Shepard over finding Collins. IIRC Collins was a top 15 pick that inexplicably slipped into the 2nd round. He probably should've been fired if he DIDN'T make that move. That being said, Reese still needs to get his act together. The OL and LBs have been problems for years and apparently the TEs have joined that party... and we're sitting on $14M in cap money since free agency. SOMETHING could've been done.
  20. This guy is the fn worst. All the potential in the world but he's the definition of soft and makes the dumbest decisions when he actually gets the ball in his hands.
  21. Someome on the radio said we weren't leaving until today. Not sure why, but considering the Josh Brown news it's possibly a good idea. Rams have been there since Monday I believe.
