  1. they werent willing to go ten years with cano..and they were right for doing so..the mariners ponied up. The Yankees are going to miss Cano..very much, but I understand why they didnt retain him. I guess theyre going to hope one of Mason Williams, Tyler Austin and Slade Haethcott bounce back this year and become viable trade bait for a second baseman. Letting Cano go is definitely going to hurt the team in the short term. They still need a SS too. Have no idea what their plans are for the middle infield. Cause Nunez sucks
  2. he isnt over paid at all. he is one of the best players on the team. its a good deal for both parties. He is like 4 WAR player.
  3. I know he has been banged up a lot lately.and probably wont be able to get on the field until around November...but he is still pretty young (27 I believe)and was once a dominant WR. If we lose Nicks, which I assume we will, we are going to need a WR..not saying Rice would fill in as starter as I dont think he will be ready for a full season, but as added depth for when he returns wouldnt be a bad idea. Im sure he isnt going to cost much. just a thought
  4. he is getting up there in age..Im certain he is the oldest coach in the league with carroll and belichek being 6 years younger than coughlin. I think its safe to say Tom wont be here much longer
  5. I recall him being a very nice backup and enjoying watching him play..and as it was mentioned, he was certainly missed when he left. good luck to the man, thanks for helping win some championships.
  6. didnt the second giants/patriots superbowl start with a safety?
  7. Awesome... Well done mike. Great player and person.
  8. Yeah, but who is available and not too old?..Alex Mack? I wouldnt mind getting him...but he is probably going to be expensive.
  9. Like I said, he would be foolish not to test the market..and he will most likely get an offer the giants wont be willing to match. like others have said, this team is rebuilding, no need to sign pricey veterens..even our own. Besides, I really want to see what DaMonster can do..even if he doesnt play end..Tuck leaving will surely open up some playing time for the youngster.
  10. coming off a solid year(at least against the redskins), he'd be stupid not to. I love Tuck, but business is business..get paid while you can.
  11. nice...that cant be a bad thing. He was coming off surgery last year and had a down year, I expect him to regain his ace like form this season.
  12. he is the best pitcher available..most have him projected as a number 2..which is fine with me..not darvish(who is a bonafide ace in any country), more like a young version of Hiroki Kuroda..which would be awesome. A rotation of Sabathia, Tanaka, Kuroda, Nova and Pineda/Banuelos/Ramirez/Phelps/Warren isnt too shabby.
  13. Moore, once again, looked great..on special teams. no idea why he donest play more/ever defense. kid looks like the real deal
  14. Losing Cano is huge, all these free agent signings dont mean a thing now that Cano is gone. T
  15. correct me if Im mistaken, but dont the NY Yankees have something to do with Man City? Like they own a percentage of the team or something like that? OH, and is there really a "draw" in elglish soccer to set up the champonship like in the movies I mentioned earlier? boohya, Im not against soccer, just never got into it..I will try to watch some when I can..Im sure I will probably love it...I do enjoy the world cup matches when I catch them.. if that means anythinig
  16. my knowledge of english league soccer go as far as Danny Dyer(Football Factory) and Charlie Hunnam(Green Street) movies. though Ive never seen a game and I cant name one player in the entire league..I like Millwall
  17. well there goes that idea. I dont know what the Yankees are doing. Looks even worse they didnt trade cano at the deadline. Kelly johnson sucks
  18. if thats the case, which it seems like its going to be. Id look at Garza since it loosk like Hiroki is coming back. Might even throw an incentive laced deal at Halladay for depth(i he can stil get major league hiters out) and hope that Pineda, Ramirez or Banuelos emerges as ligit major league starter. lots of question marks though I think thats a decent start.
  19. when healthy, which is a concern, he is a difference maker. very nice player...and the second best free agent of the offseason behind cano. I like this move, but they still need to sign cano..hopefully they come to an agreement. and the need to sign at least 2 starting pitchers
  20. Jenkins and Rolle have been the defensive mvp's this season. with a mention of Thomas, Beason and The Mook.
  21. yup..as I mentioned before..its not like the giants cb are terrible..theyre not bad. and worse case scenario..since you knew they were going to have to be pass heavy on that last drive..why not put in hosely or mcbride to double on bryant and leave rolle where he is best suited? on another note..on the second witten td..it seemed like the giants had 3 guys that could have at least made a play to knock the ball away or pick it off and they just stood there. I could be wrong, but on the tv I was watching it on..they all looked to be very close to that ball in flight.
  22. I think many of us would like that to happen joe, myself included...but, I dont think they will do it. they seem to be very loyal to these guys..to a fault.
  23. yup, not resigning martin was so fucking stupid. but they had to do something at catcher now
