I think the very fact that we don't have to win this game works to our advantage. We can play loosely and take shots.. try plays we don't normally try.. like a flee flicker.. fake punts... Our D will have to hold its ground.. and then let the Hefty Lefty take care of them in the 2nd half.. what've we got to lose? If we win, great.. if we don't.. oh well.. at least we had fun.

Well said. Amazing how some people want to point the finger solely at Eli. We know Eli hasn't been great but to over-simplify our problems and point the finger at him... that's a bit irresponsible. Our WR/TE haven't lived up to expectations. None of them has stood out.. none has made tough catches.. at least consistently.. yet it's always Eli's fault.

Last season when the Giants game was on the NFL network, I scarmbled to find bars in the area that had NFL Network... only to get there and find out the game was showing on NBC :brooding: Now, does anyone know if the game will be on NBC or some other local channel for us locals?

What's funnier is I have been saying this for weeks and not one person backed me up on it. If xxixxv agrees with me then what can I say.. Great minds think alike maybe?

Any playoff team presents a challenge. No one makes it to the playoffs if they weren't any good (maybe the Bucs fans can take a hint). Having said that, I've always wanted us to play in warm weather. Eli is at his best when it's not freezing or raining. I got my wish. I'm not saying it will be easy..but look for Eli to have a solid game.

And the Irony is Eli will be better with less pressure. Defenses will have to play the run more.. gets our WRs more open.

I agree with Gilbride. And getting a QB coach who can fix Eli... it's the little things. So that takes care of #2... I don't think we need to draft a QB unless there's a good one in the 4th round or so. LT? Diehl is doing great imho. We need a very good CB to compliment Ross and maybe a very good safety.

We're better than Tampa, Seattle, and whoever is in the 6th seed... we can beat GB and Dallas. Understand that you get to watch the Giants all the time.. but only see highlights from other teams' games... Dallas lost to Philly last week.. GB lost to the Bears this week... the cup is half empty when it comes to the Giants? Our team is as good as anyone in the NFC... at least that's how I feel.

I would've felt the same way.. except I've seen the Giants stink the first drive then play lights out.. and then when suddenly the weather turned bad, my hopes were dimmed... but for some reason... I believed we'd win the game..

I will wait to see more out of Webster before I give up my thinking that he's a big bust.

Spot on. Eli may not throw the ball between the #s but our WRs (except for Toomer) don't really make tough catches... hell they don't make the easy one's either. That drop by Smith was inexcusable. It's not hard to haul a pass like that... Eli is who he is.. he can be really good and he can suck. We have a decent QB and we'll leave it at that.

Knowing the Giants, this may be a very good thing. The Giants win when they're underdogs.. and they throw big stinkers when favored. I hope we go to Tampa not Seattle. So far my theory about Eli and the cold weather is holding true... we'll see.

Except the Giants have this special ability to throw a stinker after a bye week.

I agree with TBCvP, Lubeck, and Sephiroth. Only Plax should sit. Well this is a chance for us to get our TE some more experience before the playoffs. I think our starters should play to remain fresh.. I don't want them to come off like they usually do after a bye. Play it safe and try all sorts of plays you wouldn't normally try. I wouldn't mind seeing a few razzle dazzle plays like a flee flicker... so long as we come out of that game without any injuries.
