  1. Collins was slightly beat on that play. But it was great to see that he recognizes when the ball is in the air. Not everyone can do that.
  2. That's how I see it too. One muffed punt, not the end of a career. I see lots of promise from Harris.
  3. Yeah, other than Moore it seems like all the young guys are coming along nicely. I can say the same for the Redskins too. Several of their young players leaped out at me.
  4. Man, no kidding, I was just thinking last night that with McAdoo's offense, it makes no sense to have middling TEs because a lot of those quick hitting plays could be construed to be open it up for the TEs deep across the middle. I sense a little square peg, round hole syndrome in the offensive play design...
  5. Heh, I don't know how all of us can have such varied opinions on Harris. I think he's a good player. Merriweather is one of my least favorite players in the NFL ever, so I am very disappointed to see him on the Giants. But he's playing far better than I thought he would.
  6. I think Spags has been doing a tremendous job. The D has been far, far better than we have any right to expect given their talent level and all the missing players. The safeties are off the street, and there isn't a defensive lineman out there on 1st and 2nd down that can rush the passer. That's a recipe for giving up 30+ a game. Don't knock the blitzes... its the only way this team can mount a pass rush. And you're not going to slow down an NFL offense if you give their QB as much time as they want to throw the ball. It may give up a quick score sometimes, but if they're going to score anyway, giving up the quick score is better than giving up long scoring drives.
  7. always seems to me that Donnell plays like he took the short bus to the game. He has loads of physical talent, and he shows good hands... at times. But the concentration lapses, silly stuff like the somersault into the safety last night.... I'm thinking that the dude better save his money, because he won't be working a day job after this.
  8. lol, yeah, but at least Eli sometimes makes good plays, and is generally neutral. Parker fucked up the majority of the times he had a chance to touch the ball.
  9. yeah, no matter how big you are, our bodies are all made of the same stuff. Guys that size break down fast.
  10. yup. Part of me is a little pleased to see Dallas succeed, because they've followed the CrazedDogs template for success.... offensive line, offensive line, offensive line.
  11. whoa, big kid.... but he isn't the first big kid to come around, and I don't think any of those 400 lb high school kids have ever made it.
  12. lots of good play from the young guys on Sunday, both Unga and Collins, Flowers too... and a few mistakes too. First game of their careers, so on the balance I'm pretty damn happy.
  13. hmm, I really thought he was still a rookie... an extremely old rookie.....
  14. yeah, I've seen defensive linemen play with a hand in a cast before. And I've seen it used effectively as a weapon on the field. Its not like he's playing nose tackle, he doesn't have to grab on and hold the offensive linemen. And JPP plays at near 300 pounds.... think he really needs to be able to wrap a guy up to take down a running back, much less a QB?.... nah.
  15. LOL, they played far better than any of us expected they could.... how could they possibly have played better? Between the injuries to JPP and the safeties, there just isn't the talent on that side of the ball to shut down a good offense, especially late in the game when everybody is beaten down. Its just not realistic.
  16. What was the lesson, don't let a better team beat you?
  17. Yeah, if it weren't so early in the season I would view Atlanta as a litmus test. Should be able to get to Ryan... need to be able to get to Ryan. Its going to be a long season if they can't mount a pass rush against Atlanta.
  18. a moratorium? That's retarded. ...and I will now slink off to hell.
  19. They've obviously had it drilled into them to play up tempo and to maximize offensive snaps. I guess I should feel lucky that we haven't seen more of this kind of thing... there are more than a few teams that have been dealing with this kind of common sense retardation for years.
  20. yeah, he was head hunting, but he didn't actually hit OBJ in the head. Lucky.
  21. yeah, the D was playing out of their minds most of the day, but given the protection for Romo I felt like it was a foregone conclusion that the Cowboys would be able to move the chains at will late in the game. Which is why I didn't understand taking the field goal.... I'd have gone for the TD, and if it fails, you give the Cowboys a 97+ yard field to work with. I'd take a 3 point lead and 97 yards to go over a 6 point lead and 80 yards to go. The clock management was garbage of course.... it had me wondering if Ben McAdoo is the love child of Chip Kelly and Andy Reid. And how about a good word for Markus Kuhn!!!! He was getting ripped all preseason, but there's a few of us that called it on him.... what we saw in preseason was NOT him playing the same assignments he had yesterday. Other than the screen that he sniffed out like Strahan, he didn't have any splash plays, just played a nice steady game. But that was the best offensive line in football, and Kuhn was taking on two blockers and owning his gaps.... it really was a hell of a job on his part. Parker.... that guy is fucking awful. What was it, five drops yesterday? Funny thing is, I said the same thing last year, and as soon as I started tearing him down, he started lighting it up. So I'll say it again... Parker fucking sucks and doesn't belong in the NFL. That should do it, now he'll turn it around.
  22. Given how many times they dropped 8 in coverage last night, I think you need new material.
