40 yard would have been better than 6. Look this OL is going to be shit this year regardless of the defenses that they play.

Tiki to Saquon: Quit bein a lil bitch
mastershake replied to Virginia Giant's topic in New York Giants
I've said from the beginning. Saquon Barkely's toughness is just average. He's not a grinder. He's not a downhill guy. Not that you don't need to do inside runs with him...you certainly do. But he's not going to give you 20-25 plus interior carries. Gallman, who is smaller weight wise, is far tougher and should be incorporated into the mix. We should be running sets with Slayton, Shepherd, Barkely, Engram, and Gallman, especially shotgun and 3rd down and long formations. -
We're not the ones saying he "impressed" in his first game. PFF is. Do you think he "impressed?" I don't. I think he was okay, had ups and downs, but wasn't impressive. How dare we share our opinions about a players performance in a game! That is not allowed in the sports section of the message board. You cannot comment on a players performance in a game! Joking aside, we need to set realistic expectations on Thomas. He's going to have ups and down this season, his rookie year. It's very unlikely that he's a lockdown LT at this stage. He's probably going to be average overall this year. I am not too worried as long as he continues to show potential and progress. He is not my main concern. My main concern is the rest of the shit line and how this is yet another botched giants offensive line overall. And yes, I am considering Will Hernandez as going down the path of a bust until he proves otherwise. "But they were playing one of the best defenses." Outside of Daniel Jones, this team had 6....fucking 6! rushing yards on 15 carries. That's pathetic and unacceptable. This same Steeler's defense gave up 110 yards per game last year.
-
That's fair. 61 or so on PFF isn't too bad, and I think would be okay for a rookie...plus you have to consider he has absolute garbage on the OL next to him.

PFF Grades: Fleming = 51.6 Zeitler = 49.6 Gates = 54.4 Hernandez = 46.3 (This guy is busting out quickly) Thomas = 60.8 So yeah, he was the D grade guy vs all the other guys that got F's, lol
-
What were the grades? The entire line was shit. So if the grades are like F, F, D, F, and he got a C-...that's not encouraging.

We should keep Cam Fleming and Will Hernandez around. Maybe year 6 will be the year they turn it around. -

3.6 is far better than 0.4 yards per carry. Hell I'll take 2.0 yards per carry! That would be 500% more effective than the giants were! -

2020 Giants... different year, same problems we've had the last 6 years. -

Also, remember when we got drunk and thought we had a great DL that was going to stop the run game? Lol then Benny fucking Snell drops 120 yards on us, lol! -

I don't think we understand how shitty an OL has to be for a rb to have 15 carries for 6 yards. "But they're playing a good run defense" I can hear some of you saying. This same defense have up 110 yards rushing per game last year. Don't feed me this bullshit. This is an unacceptable offensive performance when you have generational talent at RB. -

By the way, Cam Fleming earlier in the half did the patented giants offensive line jig. At least once a game when pass blocking, he spun around in a circle and never even TOUCHED the defender, resulting in a clear path for the defender to sack the giants QB. -

We have the same OL and defensive problems this year that we've had for the past six years. -

The offensive line is garbage -
Yep. Might be one of the best defenses in the league, and best from 7.

Him and Hernandez are going to get murdered by TJ Watt and that D-Line tonight.

I believe I also read somewhere that he had a very offputting personality, possibly did not have the necessary intangible character traits or grit for an NFL QB. Or something like that. Long story short, heard that the kid was a dick and no-one like him. That matters.

Sounds fair. Definitely want to see the arrow pointing up and interested to see young players develop. -

Giants beat writers and the comments section on Big Blue View. It's not everyone; just some things that the forever optimists are saying. Plenty of others are cynical like me. -
I've been out of touch with nfl... Fill me in please

Season starts tomorrow. First giants game is Monday night. For the most part, COVID-19 has yet to be an issue, and few players have opted out. For giant fans, from everything I've seen most giant fans are optimistic about Judge and his staff. Fans will not be in the stands (I think) in most stadiums. Definitely not at Giants stadium. Baker is gone (waived yesterday). By the way, Baker stuck a guy up because the guy took all his money at a high stakes game of dice, not cards!
