  1. How the hell is he and Ereck Flowers still in the league, lol. Granted, Flowers abilities might best be suited where Miami has him at G, where he can just maul people in the run game, and where you minimize his responsibilities with fast rushers off the edge in the pass game, and it looks like he's doing okay there.
  2. https://nypost.com/2020/11/23/xavier-mckinney-oshane-ximines-returning-to-bolster-giants-defense/ Xavier McKinney, Oshane Ximines returning to bolster surprising Giants defense
  3. Bradberry and Gano. Martinez, Lawrence and Williams have been good, but I don't think they're pro bowl level.
  4. Plus like the mention of Gallman. Always liked him. He's a tough, decisive runner, plays bigger than his size. We need to feed him the ball more.
  5. Would he really want to come back here after the giants organization gave his accusers the benefit of the doubt, even if we offered him an okay deal? Surely there will be other suitors, right?
  6. Finally this team plays a complete game where they're not hanging on for dear life.
  7. If we somehow end up with 2 successful starting OL in this draft out of the 3 draft picks, Getty might not look so bad after all. Problem is we don't have a capable starting OL right now.
  8. I'm on board with that. As I keep saying, what other QB in this draft gets you excited??? None in my view.
  9. I'm fine with that logic, however my problem is if we don't get Lawrence, who do we get? No-one else in the draft really excites me. Again, I'd be open to trading for Deshaun Watson though if the Texans end up winning the Trevor Lawrence sweepstakes.
  10. I just don't see Fields or Lance on a level where any GM would honestly say "Ah yes, he much has more potential than Jones." They're kind of the same level prospect, and you restart a rebuild for 2-3 years. Who wants to do that? Better use of a top 5 pick at a position other than QB.
  11. No matter the GM, I'm not sure Fields or Lance are really that compelling. Are we really going to invest what looks like a top #5 pick on one of them? I can't see it. And DJ is only 23.
  12. Let's assume for a second that we aren't in a position to draft Trevor Lawrence...who really after that is left that you can really bank on rebuilding around? Here are the potential 1st round prospects: - Justin Fields, Ohio State - Trey Lance, ND State That's pretty much it. Would we really abandon DJ for one of these two? I'm not sure that's a good idea. One idea I'd be open to is if the Texans get Trevor Lawrence, trading a 3rd rounder or so for Deshaun Watson.
  13. I'm not ready to give up on him. Not until we have a competent, capable starting offensive line. One that doesn't have the play calling running conservative/scared, and one that doesn't have a QB scrambling for his life half the time, plus one where we have a functioning, consistent running game. Now yes, if Lawrence is there and we are there, you take him. If not, forget it. There's no other "can't miss" QB's in this draft. Any other QB draft pick will be just as uncertain, just as much of a question mark as DJ.
  14. Yesterday is definitely on Daniel Jones, and to a lesser extent the OL. We should have won that game.
  15. Let's not forget that tonight, our OL faces Suh, JPP, Shaw Barrett, and Steve McClendon, not to mention Lavonte David and Devin White. It's the #6 defense in the league. The giants OL is going to get murdered tonight.
  16. Go home Will Hernandez. You're drunk. Let's see what Shane Lemieux can do.
  17. I agree with the premise of this thread. Also Landon Collins and Weston Richburg are both out for the year. Justin Pugh went on to have an okay career at G, though he's still injury prone. BJ Goodson is having an okay'ish career as far as 4th round picks go. Johnathan Hankins is a guy I really thought the giants would regret letting walk but he been only okay for the Colts and Raiders. Not worth a big contract. Devon Kennard has been decent as far as 5th round picks go, but is mostly best as a rotational player. I have a feeling we won't be resigning Dalvin Tomlinsin because we have other priorities and not a whole lot of cap space in 2021, but I expect that is a decision we will regret. Also, I would not be shocked if Evan Engram goes elsewhere and does well. Will Hernandez is approaching bust status. The guy is a backup at best.
  18. He was injury prone when he left NY...and he continued to be injury prone while in CLE. I think we made the right choice not paying a receiver $20mm per year for 8 games per year.
  19. The guy has played just one full season in the past four years. Obviously there's no way to predict how it would have turned out had he stayed here, but looks like ditching ODB was the right move.
  20. Or like when he helped force a three and out after the giants just went up 14-3, putting the initiative back in the giants hands? 3:00 Yeah, no impact
  21. Oh you mean like he's had no red zone sacks while the opposing offensive was driving, to help completely short change the opposing offense and help force a field goal (which the team missed)? 5:33 Yeah sure...no impact.
  22. Who says his sacks are garbage time sacks? What garbage time have the giants had the last two seasons when we've only won 5 games over that span, and have barely been up by a comfortable lead in any of them?
  23. As a reference, here are how other top FA lineman are performing vs the trash we signed: Our trash: C Nick Gates PFF Grade: 47.5 T Cam Fleming: 52.9 (Don't tell me we expected Nate Solder to be a capable starter here) Other teams: C/G Graham Glasgow: 65.8 T Bryan Bulaga: 67.8 T Jack Conklin: 79.9 T Dj Humphries: 78.9 T Andrew Whitworth: 90.1 T Ty Sambrailo: 66.8 T Joe Haeg: 73.4 T Kelvin Beachum: 68.0
  24. Aside from the defense, in what way is the team improving overall? The record is on track to be worse. The offense is ranked 31st vs 18th last year. The offensive line is worse this year than last. Daniel Jones is worse this year than last. The running game excl. Daniel Jones is pathetic and worse. Engram is worse. Shepherd still can't stay on the field. Golden Tate has regressed and his best years are behind him. At best, the defense got better, but the offense got worse, netting out at no improvement overall. Winning 4 games (i.e. going 3-6 the rest of the way, even seems like it might be a longshot. And I don't want to hear "but they're competitive and in these games..." not buying it. You are what your record is, and bad teams find ways to lose games. There's also really no indications that this offensive line will be fixed anytime soon; we're about 3 moves away from getting a starting capable, competent O-line, and our cap space after cuts won't be deep this offseason meaning if we're lucky, we'll land maybe 1 or 2 capable FA lineman.
  25. Okay, just did an analysis on sacks per 100 defensive snaps for Golden this year vs last. Here it is 2019: 0.9 sacks per 100 snaps. 175 snaps played total 2020: 1.1 sacks per 100 snaps. 917 snaps played total In other words, if Golden had played the entire 2020 season and kept his current 0.9 per 100 snap sack rate, he would end up with 8 to 8.5 sacks by the end of the year. I agree with offloading him because it's a lost season anyway, but he was performing similar to last year on a per snap basis. We were clearly just under utilizing him.
