  1. Best not to push it. We were likely going to lose this game either way.
  2. Figure enough cap space for Ryan, Tomlinson or Williams, and one big free agent signing at one of the positions listed above. I hate to say it but we may need to let Tomlinson walk so we can sign other higher priority positions. I can't see giving a massive contract of $14-20mm per year for a guy who only plays 50-60% of the snaps. Plus he's good but he's not like a pro bowler or game changer who can't be replaced. Is there really that much of a drop of if we go with BJ Hill instead, then bring in depth behind him and Lawrence? Unless we can somehow get him for less, like 4 years $48mm. Similar with Williams. Is he worth $14-20mm per year?
  3. In that case, if we're keeping Engram and Solder, the only thing I change is below. By cutting Zeitler, Tate, Pulley, and Core, that should create ~$20-21mm in cap space. FA / Draft Top Priorities: - G - CB - WR - EDGE/Pass Rush - TE (to replace Engram) Secondary Priorities - RB depth - DL depth - OL depth
  4. Release Zeitler, Solder, Tate, Pulley, Core...also do NOT tender Engram (saves us ~$6mm). This should give us an additional ~$30mm in cap space, for roughly $45-50mm in cap space. I consider re-signing Logan Ryan to be a top priority. If we give him like a 3 year $30mm contract, his year 1 cap hit may only be $7-8mm, not too drastic of an increase from this year. We're also going to need to re-sign one of Dalvin Tomlinson or Leonard Williams (probably Tomlinson). Once we do that, then: FA / Draft Top Priorities: - G - CB - WR - EDGE/Pass Rush - TE (to replace Engram) Secondary Priorities - RB depth - DL depth - OL depth
  5. Yep https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/30439577/pittsburgh-steelers-linebacker-bud-dupree-believed-torn-left-acl-source-says
  6. Coughlin is my dark horse for this team. I think he could have real long term potential.
  7. By the way, Fackrell in 11 games only had a weak 3 sacks, but at least he was occasionally decent against the run. In the future for a pass rush at least, he's not going to be able to help us. We'll have to look towards other options to sign or draft.
  8. And it comes as we just lost Fackrell, so we're really going to need guys to step up.
  9. https://heavy.com/sports/new-york-giants/kyler-fackrell-ir-smith-pettis-peart-covid/ These rookie LBs and/or Sheard and Downs will really need to step up.
  10. Great to see the progress. What the heck was Columbo doing?
  11. Considering this is a lost season anyway, and given DJ has shown me enough to know he has a future here, I'd say don't rush him back.
  12. Yeah this isn't a "just tape it up and take some painkillers" type of injury.
  13. They Giants just lucky that the Bengals are somehow MORE incompetent than they are. The giants can never make anything seem comfortable.
  14. LOL there they go. New ways to fuck up every week. This team deserves to lose.
  15. Between guys like Lewis, morons like Fleming, etc...this team new ways to fuck up every week. That was the game right there you moron, Fleming.
  16. I missed the game so far. How bad is the Jones injury?
  17. Yes, but I expect we'll cut Zeitler, Tate, Solder, and a few others, which should get us $20-25mm in additional cap space.
  18. We are going to need a veteran interior lineman to play alongside Lemuiex and Gates (Hernandez is a bust). Zeitler's contract is way too big and he's not playing at a level that warrants a $14mm cap hit. Besides that, we probably only have cap space for two other big free agents, so any two out of WR, Edge, or CB works for me. These are the right priorities after OL in my view. We should make sure to re-sign Ryan if we can for under $8mm and Peppers (Peppers on his 5th year, $6mm option). Keep the veteran presence; it has made a difference. We'll also have to re-sign either Tomlinson or Williams if we can, otherwise DL will be a hole. Assuming our draft is #8-14 ish, I like CB Jaycee Horn out of South Carolina, Joe Horn's son.
  19. We'll see. The giants sometimes have a knack for turning 3rd string QBs into Joe Montana. Or at least, they can rack up yards against us, like Alex Smith did a few weeks ago, and we barely hung on in that game.
  20. Definitely. I'm just pointing out he seemed better in the box than playing deep. And since nickel/dime is employed something like 50%+ of the time, he definitely has a role.
  21. From what I watched, I saw a guy who played well as a box safety or a nickel backer cover guy who could match up with TEs and RBs. I didn't see a guy who'd be proficient as a two deep or one deep safety who needed to go sideline to sideline or come up the field quick. He could be a versatile chess piece on the defense, but he'll likely need to be supplemented with two other safeties, though this seems common in today's NFL. Better against the run than in coverage. Better attacking than when asked to sit back.
  22. Everyone keeps talking up McKinney...I must be missing something when I watched Alabama games last year because I always thought he was kinda meh...showed up once in awhile, but he also disappeared for long stretches of the game and was sort of the play who racked up tackles AFTER the guy already caught the ball 5-10 yards down the field.
